I have the same problem, and a week ago I wrote about this problem and I'm waiting for an answer, devs said that he will figure out what the problem is, but so far no response from them. And now I see that the problem is not just my wallet.
Sorry for the trouble. We are working on it. For 98% of the users it's working fine but for a certain number of people it's not, and we need to improve this.
Until we find a better solution you can still use the CLI wallet which is working fine for 100% of the users.
- Run xcashd to get the blockchain synced
- Run in a separated windows xcash-wallet-cli using the --restore-deterministic-wallet argument. You will be able to view the balance and use the transfer function if you want to move the funds around.

Your project look good but the website isn't good at all, it's slow and had some bug in there.

Please make sure after you download the GUI and unzip the folder, make sure to open a terminal in that folder and run
chmod +x script.sh && ./script.sh
It will then ask for your user password like when you do a sudo command
then it will say "Installation is complete"
this will install the neccsary files for the GUI wallet. Then just double click the GUI wallet program and it should run.
