I  have had confirmation from Poloniex regarding the snapshot :

It's okay to announce that we will redeem balances for people and allow withdrawals, but it is important to clarify that this is in no way a promise of a listing (Not that we're ruling a listing out).

that a good info too. maybe they will list CHI on polo in the future,

I had some coin in my old addresses that I used years ago.
I tried to load my wallet using the new huntercore with the pruned chain but it doesn't work.

Do I need to sync from scratch?
If it is so, is there anywhere a downloadable chain?

A Small update - after some discussions earlier today we have decided to lower the minimum HUC balance required for free CHI from 10k to 1k HUCs.

The pdf has been updated.

Error: Please enter the wallet passphrase with walletpassphrase first. (code -13)

what do I do with this?

What do you try to do?  Huh

Anyhow, not many blocks till snapshot! Chimaera incoming!  Cheesy

When do you plan to publish the wallet application and source code?

And do they plan to release the source code ever? I wouldn't expect the source this year - cloning threat is too high.

I believe the threshold was reduced to 1k huc for participation, which brings up a kind of interesting point: how many addresses are the with 1k+ that are suck forever, whether because the keys are lost or owner just doesn't follow huc/crypto anymore? Are 50% of the chimaera distributed to huc holders going to be I unspendable and locked up forever? I have no idea, just curious.

I don't think every address with 1k+ HUC gets the same amount. I think the way it works (and the way it was explained before when the threshold was 10k) is that for every multiple of 1k HUC a wallet has, they will get that weight in regards to Chimaera distribution. For example, if 5% of all Chimeara is 10k, and all HUC is owned by 2 addresses: one has 4900 HUC and one has 1000 HUC, the first address will get 8k Chimaera (4/5 total weight) and the other will get 2k (1/5).

That way was changed. According to the PDF paper (https://chimaera.io/huntercoin.pdf), its much more simple - just this:
3 CHI for 1 HUC on any wallet address with over 1k Huntercoins.

I think we are both a little off. After looking at the PDF, it appears the distribution follows this method: For every address holding at least 1k HUC, 3 Chi per HUC will be handed out. An address with 3300 HUC will get 9900 CHI. An address with 1200 will get 3600. An address with 800 will get nada.

Yep, exactly. BTW that's what I meant in my post above Smiley. Probably I didn't express it clearly (I'm not an native English speaker..).

so we dont know what "CHI" will be worth whatsoever, essentially?

When snapshot happens, and the total premine percent is known at this time, then we know. HUC price drop during this minute will be equal to the value of 3 CHI.

No, I'm pretty sure it's rounded down to the nearest whole huc at this point, but the point remains the same. How many air dropped chimaera will never move?
