PUMP

Hi guys, I just saw that more than half of all XEL (50,698,500 of 89,390,937) are on the BitTrex account (XEL-AQVJ-PPCK-QJYJ-8T65V)  Roll Eyes
It's bad practice and undermines the idea of decentralization... please think about it if you have your XEL on BitTrex and consider putting it on a private account.
Have a nice weekend!

PS: If the situation keeps like this, I really hope that XEL will be delisted from Bittrex to wash out the Bittrex-Hodlers
This coin will have a pump without doubts very big. And here about the exchange that removed a coin from the exchange to me frankly speaking your thought is not absolutely clear. Perhaps I what also understand that I exclude it.

i don't understand. How is it possible that more than half of all XEL are owned only by one people? I don't think this is really safe for xel itself..

Half of XEL are not "owned by one people" half of XEL are stored at Bittrex. That's a phenomenon you see with lots and lots of other currencies and nothing unusual. Most buyers don't withdraw their funds onto their wallet, so the exchanges store the majority of coins.

a) I just pumped my former message about the PROBLEM OF CENTRALIZATION of XEL. Maybe you misinterpreted this.
b) XEL is completely centralized by the fact that more than half of it is on Bittrex.
c) Following from b) XEL must be considered insecure and dangerous.

EDIT: @all: Please consider putting your XEL on a private account - it's the least you can do to support the Elastic project.

I strongly suggest to be extra cautious about unknown exchanges.
The project will benefit additional listings, but only if they are done in substantial founded trustworthy exchanges.
Anything else will be extra liability and a chance for future problems.
In addition, you may post that you want to suggest to add this coin to a new outlet. Stating this as an announcement is a tad misleading. Please refer to it as it is, a private initiative based on the personal opinion of the person posting the suggestion.

Oh, and by the way, NO ONE is trying to pump the price from the side of the actual people doing stuff for the project.
We made it perfectly clear in the past that we do not make useless air announcements. Take it as it is.

We must  thank all the effort ek has made during these two years ... congratulate him and all those who have helped to have the first supercomputer working.

Do we know for sure that the "surprise" is  a working supercomputer? or are we getting ahead of ourselves? I guess we'll find out sunday  Grin
congrats to all that have helped developed this. Very exiting times ahead for XEL.

Nobody says anything about the EK announcement?

Is that real?

I confirm. I saw the message on slack.

And this on twitter https://twitter.com/alondre3/status/976391764415254528?s=21

EK already has a lot of XEL. Someone donated to him last year and it was all transparently done on this forum.

It doesn't sound at all like the EK we know. He just wouldn't post about having purchased XEL, or even tease with any update.

Could it be a fake account trying to create a pump this weekend?

Its not fake. He made that post because too many A-holes felt it is their business to criticize him for having/not having coins and he wanted to be transparent about it. I honestly think it is nobody's business what anyone has in his own personal wallet. You people should kiss his feet for all the hard work he has done so far, that simple.

Sorry for this question but can anyone tell who "ek" is? Smiley And I would also like to join the slack channel but the invite link is expired. Can someone set a new one or invite me please?

Regarding a second exchange I really think we should try to collect the 1BTC for Crypto Bridge listing. As far as I know they will refund when its not possible for them, but I am really confident that they will do it. Maybe someone from the dev team should set up a BTC address for donations? Just my two cents

I guess you used "Remember me" option at logon, right?

No Smiley

When using XEL address, you'll be logged in view-only mode, and for every transaction you will need to provide passphrase.

Aah, that's it. Again, thanks!

I can access the litewallet now, but the terminal window keeps showing

I don't use MAC, but it's probably something similar to Linux. Not sure if it works, but you could try this
https://talk.elasticexplorer.org/t/elastic-wallet-on-mac-dumbed-down-lame-procedure/479

works like a charm! thx!

edit: is there an option to not save my login credentials? the litewallet seems to automatically store my XEL account and passphrase.

I guess you used "Remember me" option at logon, right? Try to log out with "Log out and clear user data", and then login again but use your XEL address only, and don't check the remember me option. When using XEL address, you'll be logged in view-only mode, and for every transaction you will need to provide passphrase.

The best option is to use your own local wallet (for Windows you can find it here https://talk.elasticexplorer.org/t/windows-wallet-release-3-1-1/775).
When using hosted wallet you risk losing all your funds.

Thanks. Is there a wallet for Macintosh in prospect?
