Yes I am 100% sure the project is still alive, EK is doing a fine job. If you are not already a member of the Elastic Slack channel, I suggest joining there is a load of helpful information there and EK is very active.

Also you see in crypto you get noobs/trolls joining communication channels everyday asking the same questions here or on Slack like "where is roadmap or launch?" "Is this scam as no developments?" "I heard one dev left is project dead?" and they don't take 5 minutes to research anything because they are usually fucking idiots and want to be spoon-fed information. Having said this luckily there are many XEL supporters on Slack who answers these same questions nearly every single day.

With very little research anyone can see the commits on Github that EK is working on. I believe he also works locally on his own machine and doesn't update github with every slight change of code either. I truly believe at some point in the future he will have everything functioning. Although this could be months or years but either way EK isn't solely focused on making "investors" money so maybe if this worries anyone they should start looking at other projects to purely make returns. I think it is nice to have EK here that is trying to build something revolutionary and cares about the technology more than anything else, which is also the reason I think XEL will succeed.

Good thoughts, thanks for sharing! I will join the salck channel for sure! Let's hope that EK will succeed and realize all his ideas! Smiley

How are the updates coming from EK?  I don't see him post much anymore, maybe he ended up getting that new Tesla and drove off into the sunset.   Cheesy

Yeah right, I just wanted to ask for an update too  Cheesy
Can you, the guys from slack, share an info with us please?
Any github commits expected in the near future?

It's over a year now and I also haven't heard a pip from the Elastic dev team. What's new, guys. Yeah, I also check out the github for any updates.

Elastic would be better with more marketing and more exchanges but faster coding process and more team members are required before all else. The project has been going slowly for months. Many XEL owners (not investors) sold their coins accordingly.

team members do not care for pump and dump. they want to create a good technology not based on monetary gain like other projects. xel will grow at a slow pace because of dedicated devs and it does not matter what anyone else thinks. satoshis vision was not to gain money.

buy the tech, not the marketing - besides, XEL is not complete yet, the marketing will come once there's a product to put on the market. lol

many people in crypto believe everything should be marketed before it is even half done all money grabbing and dont care about blockchain tech just their wallets Roll Eyes

They should just buy some fancy scam-coins and hope for a pump.
Good that Elastic is different Cool

So you offer to contribute to Elastic, or you just want others to join and create value for your XEL  Wink?
I don't hold any XEL coins. Just saying, it would be better with others contribution.
Of course it would be better if there would be more people contributing to the project. But just saying that and not contributing is worth nothing...

What competitor projects? Cool

iexec, sonm, golem, dadi, aelf, dfinity, .. take your pick. All trying to achieve similar goal, albeit with different methods.

I only know some of those projects and they are not comparable to elastic. For example, SONM doesn't even have a whitepaper and they cannot explain how they pay the miners (Unanswered question: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.29159219 ).

Saying they are not comparable without any reasons isn't terribly convincing.

I'm not that into sonm, but I think you put up a security deposit as a "miner" (aka computation provider), not requiring proof of work.
I like iexec's solution of proof of contribution protocol for that particular problem: https://medium.com/iex-ec/about-trust-and-agents-incentives-4651c138974c.

do any of those projects have their own blockchain? or erc20?  Grin Grin Grin

Sold three weeks ago already. Just giving some perspective on why the price is dumping, as some people seem surprised by that.

I think the problem in the general market trend at the moment in particular is a sharp drop in the price of bitcoin. All this can drag on for a long time, it's terrible.

I don't know iexec or what they call proof of contribution. Of course, this "proof of contribution" has to be some kind of "proof of work concept". Just giving it the name "proof of contribution" doesn't change this fact.

You are free to sell your XEL and buy iexec instead. There is no point in whining around here in the elastic thread.
