Magi is doing nice there! Keep on voting! Smiley

Looks good so far. People started to realize the idea of Magi.

Let's get another step and ask Cryptsy to add Magi. Please tweet them or vote here

And we still need more votes at

Is there an updated list somewhere of CPU's and their Hashrates?

Or is the is what I should go by?
https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison

At first, let me welcome to the Magi community.

I doubt this would be helpful. There's a thread about mining and comparison but as there are some many CPUs available and Magi with M7M algo is just a few months old, we don't have a complete comparison list. That's why we appreciate any miner sharing his figures.

Coin of the Magi!
Im a little confused on which miner to use for windows 7 64bit. I have some e3 cpu's. Are the miners on the OP the newest.

I am posting as follows.

...

Download link:
http://xmg.makejar.com/download/sweet-spot-0.9.5.zip

Screenshot & More details:
http://xmg.makejar.com/

Tested on Win 7 & Win XP.

PM me if you get any issues.

Will this also work with windows 8?  Thanks

Yes, this will work for win8. Addition to NeedIfFindIt's package, you can try Spexx's package too (Spexx, correct me if your latest package is available in another link):

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.9412187
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10056121 (this is to lower CPU usage and hashrate too (run the miner of the above link first); we are aftering lower hashrate, rather than higher, but feel free to run high  Wink )

Both packages have the options of 64 bit miner, run it for win8. If you are wondering which one is better, I recommend to experiment / try both and go with a one you'd prefer.

The Magi Miner Gui have some crappy sides:
- it uses full 100% of one CPU core (lol). I know it is not made to be running 24/7 but anyway it is wasteful.
- it is unable to hide the minerd window.

So I decided to make better launcher/controller adding a ton of nice features.

Sweet Spot Magi Miner is able:
- to hide the miner window so it will not waste your taskbar space.
- to hide itself into the system tray while running.
- to start the miner at LOW priority so the miner will not slow down your work.
- to check the current network hashrate and control the miner:
-- at network hashrate above 37MH/s it will IDLE the miner at 5-10% eating-up just the empty CPU cycles that are going to waste anyway.
-- at network hashrate between 37MH/s and 23MH/s it will gradually increase the CPU usage up to 50%.
-- at network hashrate below 23MH/s it will not limit the miner (but it will continue to work in LOW priority).

Mining Co-operative
and the rig running at 2.5MH/s would get 1600xmg/day ....  Grin

Absolutely, provided that running that rig does not push the total hashrate out of the "sweet spot".

The big miners can work hard, or work smart. Their choice. Working hard atm they are getting peanuts.

It wouldn't harm them to have a think about it and run a co-ordinated experiment. The results should be seen within minutes. Just give it go and see what happens. That would be the smart thing to do. Then decide.

Alternatively, carry on as they are and learn nothing beyond the old Bitcoin dogma. Some people never learn. There have always been more fools than wise men around Sad

Announcement from suchpool.pw
http://suchpool.pw/xmg/index.php?page=login

Unfortunately, we will have to halt our operations. The current state of the market makes our operation non-profitable. Our servers are paid until 2015-01-24, you have until then to withdraw all your coins.

It saddens us to have to close, we might come back if we see things pick back up. We've been there for a year and really enjoyed providing you guys with a reliable pool!

-> Leftover coins will be considered a donation for our hard work all through the year.

--

Sad to see, thanks for providing the Magi pool and best of luck for your further operations.

Please withdraw your coins and switch over to one of the other pools

Magically, the network hashrate went down from around 50 MH to 26 MH.

That's how the recent blocks looked like:

Great Joe, works as it should. I hope the big guys will notice it.

This is freaking awesome, mate. I agree the Magi Miner Gui is totally not a good option now, Spexx's package is much better than that.

The idea of your miner is very interesting. Using the network hashrate to control CPU usage might not be accurate, cause that fluctuates a lot. A getaround is to use the value based on difficulty-V2. I will make an update and include that in the API call. Anyway, the miner is very cool!

The initial idea was to (almost) stop the miner when a "farmer" or "bot-net network" enters the magi pool network. Currently I get the "nethashrate" every 2 minutes from one of the pools and then share it via my website to the GUI app.
Then the GUI app controls minerd by pausing and resuming its threads. So it will work with any minerd version (just create sub-folder with minerd inside and restart the GUI app).

Where I can get the difficulty-V2 online? Or easy way to extract it from the magi client? (I have little experience with bitcoind but I don't see magid)

True, the website was done overnight just to fill the empty space Smiley

I am keen to see everyone using this miner; we'll need a linux version then; we should be able to get it done by modifying the original miner.

Best if there was a way to put the CPU logic in minerd instead of relying on external app but I'm not in C+ coding.

Hi! Please tell me why sing wallet is not synchronized (out of sync)?

v1.2.0.2-magi
windows 8.1

************
Flushed 5 addresses to peers.dat  9ms
connection timeout
trying connection 104.131.57.65:8233 lastseen=190.1hrs
Give it some time the wallet will be able to connect to nodes, or if you can explicitly add nodes in magi.conf (folder: %appdata%\magi)
Code:
addnode=104.128.225.215
addnode=216.189.144.213
addnode=162.245.217.165
addnode=104.131.57.65
addnode=104.131.42.100

Problem was solved by turning off the firewall on the anti-virus system
thanks you
