Sorry for the nooby post... but if i compiled the wallet and transferred the coins over Will they eventually stake by themselves? or do i need to do something special like "unlock PoS"?

Thanks and good luck guys the project seems awesome.

Just unlock your wallet only for staking.

I was going to drop a quick line to PeteAugustus about water-cooling but thought, it's short, why not just share it.  For those still sitting on the fence, go for it.  You will improve your system performance enormously.  This is room temperature, right now, rock-solid stable and still room to play.  Think of what you could do with a little winter air pushed through that radiator.  They are by far the easiest and safest installs for CPU heat-sinks I've ever used.  Ever had a V-8?  You can barely find the room for one of those in a case, with these you've got tons of room to ventilate for instance, your all-important and oft-overlooked NB/SB.  I'm using this puppy here, a Thermaltake 2.0 $89, you can spend almost as much on a top air-cooled heat-sink.  Go for it, you'll never regret.

is that mean balance on my wallet will gone  Cry

What version of the wallet are you using? Check under Help > About Magi

You can check what your wallet contains using the blockchain, https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/ , and there search for your address.

hey what does an overclocked 3770k bring in daily?

From a stock i7-3770 running on ubuntu i'm getting around 35 kh/s when only running the miner, with running other apps i'm getting 28-30 kh/s

Coin of the Magi!
any chance for an electrum-type wallet?
It's in our to-do list, but barely have time on this at this time.

I stopped mining after trying xpm, frozen and q2c cause I dont have the hardware power.
But this coin looks fun and I wanna try it... so my cpu cores are working and already got 44 xmgs. I know not much but its fun :-)

Mining Co-operative
Spexx provided estimation of the CPU performance by looking up a specific CPU in https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php; then divide "Passmark CPU Mark figure" by 1000 and multiply by 3.6, which comes to a number in hash rate. 2 kh/s is a bit strange, are they running in same conditions, no other programs hanging around?...

thx, it's an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5600+, so according the calculation it should make 5.2 Khs. But since it's my everyday puter it's always multitasking. Now it's making more like 3.3 Khs (multiplying by 2 what I get in the autominer, since it's two threads), so I guess that's fine.

Something is wrong here. My oldest 64 bit AMD processor is an Athlon 64 3000+ single core CPU which is giving around 1.8 Kh/s with my latest generic minerd. I also have a very old Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz single core 32 bit CPU which gives 1.5 Kh/s with the 32 bit minerd. Your CPU should be able to give around 2.8 Kh/s per thread when otherwise idle. My latest generic minerd is a bit quicker than my earlier minerd for the new algorithm so the multiplying factor is now more like 3.9 for regular desktop type CPUs.

I have known some antivirus software to interfere with coin mining and/or peer-to-peer activity, particularly Malwarebytes. Try turning your antivirus shields off to see if it makes a difference. Also, turn off any performance monitoring software you may have running - even just the Task Manager running has a measurable impact on minerd performance. Disable any screensaver programs - blank screen will do just fine thank you - and kill-off anything else that steals CPU time like automatic update schedulers for Google, Java, Adobe etc. The older the CPU, the more sensitive they become to "time stealers". Remember also that if you have the XMG Magi wallet open and staking that it will use CPU time too. Make sure the CPU is not getting too hot! Keep your CPU heatsink and cooling fan clean and free of dust.

Hope this helps Smiley
