I'm losing patience. I've resynchronised for the third time now with the new wallet, and I always get that Runtine error that end my wallet.

...Try the following link - Joe posted an update procedure and also a link to download the blockchain. Maybe that will help you get past the point where you are having the problem. I had the same issue myself at one point but I can't remember how I fixed it.

...My wallet is hosted on linux, not windows. I'm tired of using microsoft products, too much uncertenty. To be sure your host is fine, I would install and try it in a virtual machine first. I use VirtualBox for this.

Can someone give me an example of PoS rewards ? Say you buy 5k or 10k coins and stake it, what is your monthly reward aprox ?
If you use coin control, around 1 XMG every 10K coins a day.theoretic its like 5%
but realistic its like 3% a year
because only below 50% of total coins compete for POS
the POS side of this coin is ultralow inflation of like 1.5% a year
the very high inflation is coming from the POW side and its exploitable mining rewards system
the only way to keep POW rewards low and stop inflation until joe fix it
would be place high POW mininghashrate in so rewards stay constant low
as long as people mine in waves the POW inflation is very high

XMG POW is unique in the idea that high network hashrate generate less POW blockreward
the origin of that idea was to remove a arms race in mining gear and allow each normal dude with a single CPU in his PC take part in mining
but clever people found out that there is a timewindow in the diff ajusting mining reward adjusting waves
where diff is high and rewards are high too
thats because the adjusting algorhytm of mining rewards reduction have a delay
so what happens is big miners with botnets or access to company unused CPU capacity or even private GPU miners
mine fast a few blocks with high rewards until rewards adjusting kicks in start to decrease the rewards
then stop mining and the normal 24/7 miners have to mine the high diff low reward blocks
this leads to a big share of POW coin rollout goes into hands of few who mine in waves
and the many 24/7 miners have to mine the low reward high diff blocks alone
i trust in joes abilities to fix POW and come closer to the original vision

What software are you guys using for mining these days? I'm still using sweet-spot but its not working as well as it used to as it can no longer get the global hash rate from whatever service it was using. cheers

I'm running i7-3770 and getting 40kh/s per core running 4 threads per system. I'm also dual-mining XMR at 140H/s on the same CPU taking advantage of the HT technology - I can't dual mine on my i5 system without a drop in peformance.
EDIT: Correction, I'm getting 40kh/s across 4 threads - not per thread =)

Good decision, its always good to do your research before jumping into a coin. I got involved just over a year ago. There is a great community here - and the coin had been relatively stable in the range of $0.008 to $0.012 until more recently as its has caught a lot of attention. Market cap has been rising steadily but slowly as more people have been getting involved. i don't want to missed my sit. good luck

Looks like the price is getting down towards normal levels again now (for me, that's my previous trading range) - its been a bit of a whirlwind over the last few days. Its great that lots more people are aware of the coin
