http://klyemax.com/ accepts XMG as payment option. It's an adult xxx webcam site, only accepting coins for payment.  Wink

Thanks for sharing this. Things like these makes me want to spend more XMG in it. I would definitely take a look into it. Say, any chance of getting a game where you could spend and earn XMG at the same time? That would certainly be fun, but it is just a suggestion.  Grin
Hope Magi will receive more info about a game. Think Goldlabel is working on that. Smiley

I was going to ask about how long would it take to ROI using cloud staking services like Staisybit? Is it profitable at all? Just asking because I want to start with this, however I tried something similar with a cloud PoS called Stakeminers, but unfortunately I didn't reach ROI. Any suggestions on this?  Huh

TBH, I can't tell you. Just started depositing my PoW rewards. So far, my stats look like this (fees will be deducted when you withdraw)
http://prntscr.com/9xg25j
http://prntscr.com/9xg29x

I suggest checking out their thread and ask what you want to know. They mostly replied very detailed.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/launched-staisybit-universal-online-staking-wallet-1091402

Regarding Stakeminers...I never used it but read some strange stories and preferred to stay away.

Valid for all PoS services: Be very careful! Even if you see coins on "your" wallet/balance, you don't have control over the them (private key). The next morning they could be lost. The most secure way to stake is your own wallet but even that's not 100% secure. I recently found a post in an other coins' thread. Someone used a dedicated computer only to stake coins and lost all of them (as far as I remember caused by a security vulnerability in Teamviewer).

TL;DR
Don't deposit too much on PoS services, they could disappear from one moment to the next. And always check details about the fees (% of your PoS earnings and a withdrawal fee are usual) to avoid bad surprises.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with cloud staking. I guess that I would have to make a research before investing into this one. I have heard bad stuff about Stakeminers, and made me realize that I needed to proceed with caution when making investments into such services. This could be no different than cloud mining. (in terms of getting scammed) I will give a try to Staisybit and start off with a small amount of XMG just to be safe.  Smiley

Well said, sounds like a good idea to do so.

Give me your XMG address - I'll ship you a small tip for that great answer and time you took to explain that.
Well done & said sir!

The XMG price is alway the same. Angry

Which means it's stable and has low volatility. Merchants love it, as a sidenote. So I don't see a reason why it's bad (except one is looking for pump & dump coins).

I was one of the first miner for this altcoin..
I am happy to have left the ship for a while..
Even with a gpuminer and 7mhs it is not profitable  Cheesy

Wow 0.1xmg per 1k per day ?!
That's huge !!!  [irony]
Only 1xmg per proc mining (120khs) per day
That's huge !!! [irony]

Surprise, I guess you'll hear it for the first time: The idea behind mining is not to give a good ROI or to pay a fixed salary, not even to make profit. The idea is to process transactions and to secure the blockchain. In return for your hashing power, you'll get a part of the block reward (pool mining) or the whole block reward for each block you found (solo mining).

So tell me, unless you have free power, how many coins (use their 12 months average exchange rate coin/BTC, no p&d peaks) are really profitable?
I was told ETH, but as I'm not mining it, I can't say.

Mining as a simple home miner without a huge farm hardly gives any profits. Ask the BTC miners who paid more for energy than their mined coins have been worth with a price of $200-300.

So why do some people mine a coin like XMG? Cause they like the idea, the concept and just use their home computer to help securing the chain and get some coins in return. Those coins can be sold when the price is high and buy more when the price is low. That's how I tripled my XMG.

Why is the PoW block reward so small? Simply said, because there are some who still didn't understand the concept of XMG. The more hashrate you put in the network, the lower the block reward will be. That's why mining with a 7 MH/s GPU miner isn't and shouldn't be profitable. The overall goal, XMG wants to achieve, is to reduce the mining competition. Being the opposite of BTC where more and more huge farms are built, you always have to invest big amounts of money to just get some considerably amount of the block reward.

I read some posts about mining XMG with a Raspi, that's awesome. If all miners would just use low hashrate devices (it was stated the perfect indvidual hashrate would be around max. 120-200 kh/s), the block reward would be much higher and the power usage for each miner would drop considerably. I like and support that concept and that's why I'm mining this coin, no matter if I could 1% more profit mining an other coin.

What would happen if more and more miners would stop mining? Well, check this overview:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/#!extraction

~70% of all new coins are distributed via PoS. So you can also "mine" with PoS, using coins instead of hashing power. Yes, the block reward is tiny.
But did you check the interests, banks are paying? Some banks even charge money for deposited funds.
http://www.bloombergview.com/quicktake/negative-interest-rates
"Investing" in XMG beats most low-risk investments banks are offering.

So instead of just trolling and bashing, move on and mine something else for better profit and sell quick enough before you miss the final dump and the coin will be abandoned.
There are more than enough of them

This one might suit well to you  Wink

Cheers

I am glad you wasted your time to write me this answer  Grin

Did u think to teach me some things? lol
I mined around fifty alcoins for years..

Now, i finally found the good horses and xmg no longer party..
The algorithm is not bad, he has resisted a long time vs gpus..
But when I see 7mhs on SuprNova, i m pretty sure that someone has a private gpuminer (or maybe someone "BotHack" the equivalent of 70 i7 cpus, who knows ?!)

Anyway, i dont care anymore because there are :
1) an another altcoin more interesting to mine for the long term..
2) an another altcoin more interesting to mine and dump directly at the moment in order to buy some good altcoins POS  ( Congratulations dude, you found it: "YEA IT'S ETH")
3) others best altcoins to buy/invest in order to stake & POS

Reinforces yourself to the idea of finding a good vein with xmg but you pass next to best contenders  Cheesy

CHEERS !!

Once the price was around 10000 sat. Now it's 2000 sat. It's not the same for me.
