According to the roadmap maternodes will be released in the next quarter. Which amount of xsh will be required to set up a masternode?

If this ever happens we'll find a way to make it work. Maybe we'll have to remove some of the privacy functions (but of course only if the community agrees).

I agree. Many people are still only looking at the price and they don't want to purchase 0.000..1 of a coin ;-)

That's not because of  Shield  team,  because  they are  making a decent  job  with their  project  and  they  always  show  updates.

I  hope  things  can change,  and the  strong hands  could  be rewarded in the next bull  run, when  the  world  will need  privacy  coins.

MY ONLY CONCERNS  IS  WHAT  can   happen to  privacy coins   if the  Governaments  declare them ''illegal''  to trade.


What  will happen  to Shield  in that case?

You could see it as a fault, but in our opinion it's much better for a coin to have a lot of amount of coins that have little value than a small amount of coins with a lot of value.

Yeah, would be much better but I'm happy that that fixed it.

From the begining the blocktime was 15 s, then it was a hardfork.

Hi all,

i saw that the blocktime should be 45 s and that the coin exists since october 2017. That means it exists since almost 5.5 months. When i'm calculating the theoretical blockcount there should been about 316'000 blocks by now. But actually there have been 617'000 blocks mined by now. That means its almost 2x of the predicted blockcount. Can you tell me why there have been so much blocks by now?

The roadmap looks ambitious, but disregarding that 660 Mio max coin supply is to much in my eyes you already created 91% of the whole supply in the first 5.5 months. There is not much incentive left to mine that coin after block 714'000 (which will be achieved next month).

It was a fault to let more than 50% of the coin supply to be created in the first 12 days.

Thanks it worked! There should be option to update wallet straight from the app. I didn't know that there was a newer version.

When was the last time you updated your Android wallet? The newest version of the Android wallet has more nodes and so most likely will fix this. If you update and you still have this problem please contact me again.

Web-wallet update
We recently communicated that an update for our web-wallet was being
endeavored on. We hastily went over the upcoming features we were realizing for the web-wallet. Now that we have updated the web-wallet we would like to explain in greater detail what exactly has been updated and what these new features mean for our users. We write this article with the intent to make everyone understand what they will be able to do with the web-wallet and to make everyone understand how significant this update is.

From the ground up
We comprehensively rebuild the web-wallet which means that everything we had in before had to be removed and that we had to start over. We decided to undertake this action because we felt it was too complicated for outsiders to work on the web-wallet. We also examined the efficiency of the web-wallet and came to the conclusion that this could be highly enhanced by rebuilding it. By rebuilding the web-wallet we also made it easier for the official SHIELD team to work on new features as the code behind the web-wallet is easier to work with.

Export private key
One of the main features we added to the web-wallet is the ability for our users to export their private key. This functionality first wasn’t implemented which, to our understanding, was a major disadvantage of the web-wallet. This is why we worked extra hard to get this feature implemented in our web-wallet as fast as we were able to. With the ability do export your private key you can easily transport your SHIELD from web- to QT wallet.

2fa
Another key feature of the new web-wallet is 2fa. 2fa is a much used security function which when enabled requires the user to also fill in a security code to login, this security code changes every 30 seconds and can only be accessed by the user’s phone. We think it’s highly necessary for any services that require account creating to add 2fa as it enhances the security of service. We do however understand that some of our users don’t feel comfortable with enabling 2fa which is why enabling 2fa isn’t required to create an account.

New appearance
If you recently made use of our website you may have noticed that it looks differently than before. We decided to rework the website with the help of HuggerMugger. The main reason why we decided to step away from the old website is because the color pallet didn’t fit us. Although we decided to not make the web-wallet look like our website, we did decide to also step away from the old color palette for the web-wallet.

Future
SHIELD is a privacy focused cryptocurrency. For that reason we are working on a tor server for the web-wallet as tor provides a lot for anonymity then most other browser. There are some maximalists who do not like having JavaScript on a website they visit. Unfortunately our web-wallet requires JavaScript to run so we will not be able to make a no-JavaScript version.

There are a lot of great updates coming in the future. But we do hope that Masternodes would help us to get a bigger userbase to SHIELD!

This ^^ We do have someone that does most of our updates (me) but it'd be great if there were more people helping to translate everything over to the BTCT from our Medium/Twitter.

We are adding SHIELD to exchanges and are working very hard on finishing different project. And please don't be afraid that we will abandone this project anywhere soon, we'll atleast finish the roadmap but are planning on doing much much more!
