More on my site for those interested:

Note:Guys, for the past year I have worked extremely hard every day to build the best and most up to date website in the world for cryptocurrency. I update it ONLY with
valuable information such as a new coin release,an updated wallet, coin swaps, addnodes, and wallets with trojans you should avoid, and ANYTHING that is useful. Most of the
time, I post news within a few minutes after it happens. I post at least 5 valuable articles a day. Many people find it useful to subscribe to my blog, and then you will get
an email within a minute after I post. I do NOT spam, and carefully choose quality information. My posts are right to the point including coin name and logo, specs, exchanges,
addnodes, and wallet links, and I even list only 1 pool with all the hash , so you know right where to go! I also post a  link to the main ann on bitcointalk to the coin. Its
clean and very easy to read...AND Its all FREE!! I personally promise to NEVER send spam, or junk or offer to sell anything, and post ONLY QUALITY cryptocoin
news! Thank you, and when you go to www.bitcoinlasvegas.net youll be glad you did!

Good job Vegas, thanks for getting the word out there and supporting White Coin.

Hey everybody!

You may notice a checkpoint  message in your wallet.  Have no fear, network is secure and the dev team is addressing it right now.  Updates to follow.

Surfs up!

A surfguy update! And here I was thinking the surf had swallowed you up

no way to recover coins on mintpal lost in october still right?

No, sadly not Angry.

By the way, there is a very nice and vastly growing community over at cryptocommunity.slack.com.
It was an initiative from the AeroMe project, but a lot of people from other coins have joined since.
Oizopower and me are also very active there. There's a channel for Whitecoin as well. Always welcome to have a chat with us!

It's all pretty quiet here on the western front...

Anything of note happening?

Hey blitzkitten, how are you doing?

Our Slack development channel has been brewing with ideas, Oizopower is up to something good I think.
We just need time to organise it all, we know it has been very quiet. Everybody on the team is very, very busy.

As far as my work goes: I have an update ready for the android ticker, adding a refresh button.
Someone here asked that I could implement a way to remember which page was opened, so I'm looking for a way to do that as well before releasing.
Other than that I have been scooping through source codes of various crypto projects, learning new stuff every day.
I'm slowly building the confidence to work on the wallet core myself Smiley.

Going well thanks Smiley

Thats good to hear, I know there's always something brewing but due to my currently busy schedule haven't had a chance to get in to the Slack channel. Good to hear more is being learned and some work on the app is happening.
Keep up the good work!

Default timeout is 5 sec. if you want to speed it up then do the following:

open file x:\isolinux\isolinux.cfg
change "timeout 50" to "timeout 1" this will continue after 0.1 sec. (0 disables the timeout so it keeps idle)

thanks for reply.

How about from a safety/security standpoint? Do you think running wallets on WhiteOS via usbDrive is more secure? What about antivirus on whiteOS?

Also, when booting to usb I get the option to "try OS before installing" or "install OS". It seems the try option is what i want because the install option then tries to install on C: drive(dual boot). Is there a way to modify the install so it just runs without the asking dialog? I used the Universal USB Installer from pendrivelinux as in the tutorial.

Thanks!

Q:  Do you think running wallets on WhiteOS via usbDrive is more secure?
Yes, it is more secure, but i always tell people to think about back-ups.
Having a wallet on a default work station is insecure, because your wallet.dat is always availible. and most users are using windows where virusses and malware are more common.

Q:  What about antivirus on whiteOS
It gives your USB much more IO and will slow things down more. It is always good to choose an anti virus application, please see this page:
http://www.ubuntufree.com/top-5-antivirus-apps-for-ubuntu-14-04-and-14-10/

Q:  Is there a way to modify the install so it just runs without the asking dialog?
Yes, i'm currently not at home right now, so will come back later with this answer. there should be a file names: isolinux.cfg on the USB you can look into that.

quick question which the answer seems obvious Undecided

If I run WhiteOS on a usbdrive, can I host all my other wallets on that same drive? If so this seems a lot more secure than having them on my working PC.

Love Oizo's input on this.

Hey CryptoJohn,

You can compile any wallet in WhiteOS, you just need to follow the linux guide for each coin, but that's not to difficult because the packages (most of them) are already installed. so inside WhiteOS you can run any wallet you prefer, but it comes with Whitecoin QT wallet only by default.

Make sure to set-up a back-up (application is also pre-installed).
If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

Currently having some issues with my server, will be restoring a full back-up. please be patient. this can take a while.

This affects the Block-Explorer as well.

edit: all working again.
