zerocoin protocol is not holy grail for anonimity. no one wants it because it depends on a trusted party. this one also fails in that it shows how much money is being sent with supposedly positive side that you can check if someone created infinite money via bug, which you can't do with zcash. However, showing how much is sent is effectively breaking anonymity by letting you scan for money signatures, the trusted central party (and founders reward) are huge red flags which make zcash and zcoin completely horrific for anonimity. I don't see how this is better than Monero - requires no trusted setup, no founders reward, no central party, no money displayed, a way to check if system was compromised as a whole, one of the most tested anonimity tech now with zero compromises. there is nothing not anonymous about Monero with i2p and RingCT already on test net. zcash and zcoin is nothing but people trying to capitalize on the success of the best anonymous crypto sadly, as can be evidenced by "founders reward"

Good job devs. Why not just hop on to the zcash hype train right? And getting %20 of the rewards just like them must be very satisfying. I'm wondering if you even started to liquidate your coins since there are people with some buy orders. Broken algo, broken code. And no one cares about it. A lot of botnets also ruining the network.

Zerocoin has been hyped well before zerocash ever was...

It's a legitimate competitor, with many things it does better than zcash, and many it does worse.  They both have pros and cons.

Read about zerocoin protocol.  It's been considered a holy grail of anon for years.

Zcoin and Zcash are competitors. Both good for some aspects.
But zcoin is out, released, and already 1 year of development before go live.
Probably more efficient than zcash.

Zcash is already doomed. Already several cloud mining that will get entire hash. If zcoin is hard to mine, zcash probabilty to mine are ZERO.

With all the respect, you would better prove this. Which part of the algo or the code is broken?

I'm having intermittant stratum connection problems at suprnova: connection refused, subscribe timeout.
Retry is usually successful, the servers are probably straining under the load.

Exactly, try pool.mn an and the other pools there are also still lots of people trying to mine with wrong algos and it takes a bit until they are banned

Price now is low. should be at least 0.01 to be profitable...not talking about 1 usd @ day.  Wink

I agree. mining this coin is now not enough to supply in the market . no premined , No ICO , and the volumn of Zcoin is not much
so the price will rise in next time . I think it will be second ETH instead

Developer subsidy is pretty hefty. 10 coins per block...

"The Founders Reward will be given to early investors, developers, and Zcoin community members. We also have bounties for various tasks, such as Zcoin core development, web development, graphic design, marketing, ect. If you'd like to help out, please email or message us on Slack."

It's still hefty...  Is most of this going to Ver?

Thanks. Can you answer my earlier question as well:

I've heard that multisig transactions are impossible using the zero knowledge proofs of either zcash or zcoin, and this will significantly affect the privacy of both (if everyone uses the "clearnet" token, then who cares if there is an anonymous sub-token), since, monero for instance will soon allow ringsig multisig after ringct is implemented. Is this true? Multisig impossible with zcash or zcoin anon tokens?

This seems quite important, since at the moment private currency seems to equate with DNMs, and while I think most still use escrow, the ideal is that people would use multisig. If private multisig txs are impossible with zerocoin or zerocash, doesn't this hamper their utility quite a bit?

Multisig transactions actually are possible with Zerocoin.

Is this relevant to the 2048 RSA number used for the trusted setup:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/10/09/crypto_needs_more_transparency_researchers_warn/

Also, this doesn't inspire much confidence:

And from the comments:

That's not really very much. You can do that in less than an hour on AWS for around $200,000. There are more cost-effective ways to do it, but if your target is worth that much to you then it's pretty easily done.

I see that the pool xzc.suprnova.cc has got problem it doesn't show the worker hashrate in my account
and it seems that the payout is not shown on dashboard . Please check it

Well, if your worker isn't shown on the dashboard that also means you get no payout as there is no hash on the pool Smiley

Try to look at the "My Workers" page if the hashrate is displayed there.

No. I look at my machine. it's working well and it shows shares accepted as normal but it's not shown on dashboard.

Now it's shown again after I made a notice above

I noticed the same but the pool found no block during that period. Then shows the share when it found the next block.
