I can imagine this company being an essential part of the 21st century.

This ICO has some huge implications for the future. If they can get traction there are massive corporate applications. Whether the coin remains the proprietary method of running the system or if they license it out, it remains unknown.

Thanks for posting it.

When will ico launch?
How many tokens will suply? Whats soft and hard cap? Whats price per token?

Hello, Token Launch 13 September. We will issue additional info about pricing and caps closer to the ICO date. Stay tuned.

this project just start or your are working  on that for a few years ?

As you will see from our documentation and progress reports, as well as in the upcoming publications on Olive Oil and Swiss Cheese pilot projects, this has been an ongoing initiative since 2016, with initial R&D stages for sensor systems and quality assurance of food having been done jointly by Dr Meyer, Prof Sandoz and Prof Povey for several years prior to that. The blockchain element has been in development since 2016. We have an operational team at EPFL Innovation Park who are now going through MassChallenge accelerator, having been selected earlier this year to participate.

As a courtesy from Ambrosus Scientific Advisor Professor Malcolm J W Povey (world-renowned expert in food reassurance techniques, food characterisation and processing analysis) we present you this insightful piece on food quality data analytics performed by Ambrosus:

https://blog.ambrosus.com/food-reassurance-and-blockchain-transforming-food-supply-chains-by-prof-malcolm-povey-38d50a12e0c6

as a quote,

"Currently food supply chains are highly susceptible to: a) criminal contamination, b) accidental contamination and c) manufacturer obfuscation threatening public health and confidence in food product. These threats are exacerbated by the globalization of supply chains.

Another serious issue is the deliberate addition of cheap food ingredients which are public health threats, the most prominent of which is the addition of sugar to numerous food products where it might not be expected such as ready meals and processed fruit and vegetables. Independent monitoring of food supply chains is necessary to reassure the consumer and to provide quality food economically."

This project is useful if it works. I will keep an eye on this. Wink

we have already run trials and pilot projects and will soon write reports about the two industries where we have already developed use cases for Ambrosus. So it works all right. The bigger question is - will it scale? Now that will be one tough question to solve - and we've got the best people finalising the architecture for a scalable solution.
