ArQmA Hard Fork Announcement

The New release named Devil’S Cipher v0.4.0.0 will be available on:

- https://github.com/arqma/arqma-gui (at work)

All members of the ArQmA network must upgrade their software!

Main changes:

- POW Algorithm changes to Cryptonight-pico variant 2 aka Cryptonight-Turtle.

- Blockchain poisson checking with 128 blocks depth at REORG which is mostly caused by chain split.

- Default SSL cert algorithm set to sha256 instead of sha1.

- Now you can check for new release and download them directly from your CLI.

Estimated Fork date:

25.05.2019 at block 183700

News from the front:

Muscleman, well known in the mining community, joined the ArQmA Dev Team recently and he will among other things take care of the https://multicoin.arqma.com pool where you can merge mine ARQ with various coins.

We are close to bring back the ArQmA Web wallet to the community.

A new pool with geolocalisation will be available to connect at mine.arqma.com. As usual support will be provided on our discord and telegram channels. We hope you will enjoy our new solution for prop and solo mining.

Behind the scene:

We are finalizing the beta version of our arqma-rpc-js library. The library allows connecting to the RPC Wallet and RPC Daemon in JavaScript. Every request uses Promise and is queued. It works over ssl and with digest authentication. The only external dependency is p-queue. We will release it in the next weeks on our github and would be happy to welcome some reviewers. Feel free to catch up with SmajeNz0 on our discord channel if you are interested.

The ArQmA network will have to postpone the fork date to 5/23-5/24 2019 at block 183700.  We  identified a minor issue lately and prefer to postpone the update in order to test it thoroughly before releasing the new software

Webwallet appears to be broken. Import function does not work. Import button gets active after disabling password protection (setting a correct password causes Import button to stay inactive) and then putting the mnemonic phrase. But clicking it does not do anything.

Update: Apparently, webwallet is out of service for now.

Spring has come, both in the weather and in coding advancements.

The silence is around, but the development daemons didn’t sleep. Our Robocoder, Michal vel Malbit has recharged his batteries, and is ready to make new implementations for the ArQmA Network and as usually for the team crypto security matters Smiley

You may wonder what happened to ArQmA’s price and the devs are silent … The answer is simple, we don’t comment price moves and we are deeply focused on coding to deliver the best for the ArQmA network. We are sorry to not be as active as in the past on discord and telegram. In the last weeks we started to experiment with new algorithms and we compared some interesting solutions like argon2, CryptonightR, K12 and cuckaroo among others.

Finally we decided to make our own version of trtl-pico. We are trying to optimize it and gain even more efficiency. We think that the algorithm change will enforce the network security and help decentralization by keeping the ArQmA Network ASIC resistant. We are trying to hold the compatibility with Turtlecoin and their forks to mine them as child coins.

When upgrading to a new algorithm, we will also have the opportunity to implement Poisson anti 51%+ attack solution and a more effective difficulty algorithm. As usual the wallets and services will be updated and ready to go around the time of the hard fork to prevent any issue.

Most people won’t even notice the difference except the pool and exchange operators who have to deal with the technical details.

On the research front we are dealing with programmable debit cards for cold storage. It is really in an early stage, but our goal is to allow every user to load their own keys into a card using the GUI and keep their wallet secure as hell. That idea is OPEN SOURCE and if anybody wants to cooperate, he is as always welcome. These solutions are likely to be very competitive compared to others actually on the market.

ArQmA Labs has been started by a group of enthusiasts and is open for suggestions about ads, artwork, articles and other community related communications. Some very good postings, articles, and videos have already been rewarded with bounties.

Stay tuned, there is more to come!

Ever suddenly realize the coin you’ve been passionately mining for and whole-heartedly believed in has suddenly thrown you under the bus? You suddenly realize that you’ve been backing an endeavor that never cared an iota (pun intended) for what you’ve contributed to their project? I’ve experienced that. Several times.

My experience with ArQmA has been entirely different. I do feel appreciated, not only by the dev’s, but by the community as a whole. I’m actually part of something and not just another miner with a few GPU’s. My opinion matters. Most, if not all coins I’ve been involved with have treated hobby miners like myself as a readily replaceable commodity. They pretend to listen, but their minds are on bigger and better things. We’re nothing to them but an easy way to get hash while they’re busy figuring out the best way to attract mega-hash power with large corporate farms and even ASIC’s in some instances. Their short-sighted drive for success has blinded them to those like myself who set them on that road to begin with, the small guys like us that have small farms but huge passion and belief in this tech.

ArQmA is different. Small miners are appreciated and recognized as a vital part of the ecosystem. We have a say in decisions that ultimately define the value of the coin, not just monetarily but also in the eyes of the end user. These guys realize that success is gained in small increments over a period of time, and that the end user will be the true marker of that success. This mentality of growth in small bytes (did it again!) and taking the time to do things right and in a professional manner are the stepping stones to a very successful future in this ever-changing business of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

The future success of ArQmA will come as a result of the developer’s passion for the technology, the ability to implement it, and the wisdom to know that we, the small guys, make up the big picture, bit by bit., hash by hash.
ArQmA is set to help define the future of how crypto will ultimately become the preferred method of payment for the world. Fast. Reliable. Private. And most importantly, available hassle-free to all!
So come join us. We’d love to share the future with you.

ArQmA status update 22 February 2019.

Summary:
We can say clearly now that our ArQmA code base is much different than Monero. It is now evovled beyond the base.
Here's a brief list of new additions to the features of the ArQmA Network:

- ArqmaDroid wallet released and available on the Google play store.
- The woocommerce plugin for wordpress passed our tests and it is safe to implement on other e-shops as a payment method.
- Improvements to GUI are still under hard coding, soon you will get faster and secure tool to keep your ArQmA safe.
- Important updates related to core, mostly speed up the network, buffered rpc calls.
- Since the past fork we have RingCT 4kB size instead of 14kB(smaller blockchain, faster, better).
- Cn-lite PoW variant 1 is more effective at every hash-round we are saving 20 -25 cycles than the original code implementation.
That's a lot of extra capacity of work divided by your clock speed of your CPU and GPU while mining.

What is going behind scenes:

The team is working hard to implement/improve features coming up:
- Started implementation full SSL TLS_1.2 (minimum with 4096 bit keys) to daemon and wallet rpc, with possibility to have Self-Signed Cert and custom HardCoded Ciphers, on top of it - only allowed trusted hash-whitelist.
- The important core configuration files will be checked by sha256sum at sources validated by IN TXT@DNS-SEC - no more custom modified daemons will be allowed on the network as target goal. This will be checked at daemon at compilation process. If the code isn't the same across all the daemons it won't connect to the network. However, configuration of the code for pool and daemon integration will be explained to the pool operators and exchanges that use it. Regular wallet users of the daemon won't notice any difference in the operation.
- Gitian builds which require validation made by multiple GPG indentification keys. If any key goes invalid it will be not possible to build binary executables.
- Implementing arqma-rpc-javascript for daemon and wallet and also coded rpc calls in to daemon and wallet rpc.
- Hardcoded checkpoints with auto updated on dnssec.
- The block explorer blocks.arqma.com will be improved to fast display tx transactions in the mempool waiting for block mining and confirmation in it's refresh cycle.
- The BISQ network has been code pull requested via Github. Code integration is underway for DEX which will allow auto exchange of differing coins in ArQmA coins for purchases or transmission.

More details soon

ArQmA Network status for January.

Hello ArQmA community.

1/27/2019 ArQmA mined the 100,000th block . Congratulations to the miners, pools, and developers who made this possible.

We would like to share things we are working on.

* The redesigned web wallet is in it’s final testing phase. Improvements to the speed of synchronization have been made, we hope you enjoy! PS don’t forget about mobile view implementation.
* ArQmA GUI has been completely reworked for the future, which will allow conversion to android /iOS devices. Michal vel M@lbit working is hard on improvements. I hope you will be positively surprised. Featuring a new language bar, mobile view, password change, auto hide balance and much more to come.
* New pools have arrived and some of them offer merged mining. Using merged mining and spreading hash power can help push decentralization and promote stability and speed of our network. We are in touch with most of the pool owners. Available pools list : https://pools.arqma.com/
* Argonator will be pursuing and contributing to the GitHub issue that Monero listed which involves reporting to the antivirus companies on the security of the applications for mining, daemon, wallet, and utilities. This will hopefully prevent ArQmA and other Cryptonight coin software being reported with false positives and reduce the hassle of antivirus software blocking crypto currency in general
* ArQmA Team have created https://arqma.github.io where you can find and add information about ArQmA Network project. There are important links, FAQ, videos and docs. The most important thing is that everyone can contribute. Just fork https://github.com/arqma/arqma.github.io create own documents and files then send PR. This page belongs to You and everyone is free to make their own improvements.
* For faster synchronization we have also shared the raw file of the ArQmA blockchain available on https://raw.arqma.com which is updated every 2 hours.

The ArQmA Team have considered making an in-house cn-arqma algorithm. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates.

Don’t forget about our payment gateway at (https://pg.arqma.com) where merchants can easily connect their own wallet to receive online payments in a matter of seconds. An FAQ will be prepared soon to help with implementation.

Offline wallet generator is available on https://generate.arqma.com

We at ArQmA are always hard at work making improvements to our blockchain and systems, while other a lot of coins have stagnated during the crypto winter.

We hope the hard work we are putting in pleases you all, it is with your valued support and trust in us that keeps us going.

Thank you everyone!

The ArQmA Network Status Report for December 2018 / January 2019

Seasons Greetings fellow ArQmA community! We hope you had a great holiday and rang in the New Year well. Some of the ArQmA team worked the weekends and some late night hours to get all the huge amounts of code changes completed.

The fork on 12/4 went well here's a brief list of changes that improved the ArQmA network.

0. A large amount of internal wallet security checks, locks, encryption while the application is running to prevent hacks and surveillance attempts.

1. A two minute block time which increases the transaction rate for faster confirmations of coins sent and received. This also helps speed up the payment gateway when it reaches test release.

2. The daily emission is about 14150 ARQ coins a day, so there is an expansion of the supply of coins. Smoothly decreasing on the same curve setting similar as before.

3. The fork included the release of Devil's Gate .2.2 with a CLI wallet release, a GUI release, and updated source for Linux. Over a 100 changes internally in the code which makes it more robust and capable of supporting the payment gateway, and less of the limitations of Monero.

4. Sorry for the delay in releasing the GUI for Mac OS. But it's available on the main ArQmA download site.

5. QR code scanning and generation was added to the GUI wallet.

6. New options to hide your balance from shoulder surfers, and a timer lockout requiring a password re-entry was added.

7. Hardware wallet, cold storage wallet support was added to the GUI wallets.

8. A few bugs related to the lwma-4 difficulty algorithm tuning and the RPC wallet services were rectified within a few days of the 12/4 release of Devil's Gate .2.1.

9. A new method of merged mining appeared on two pools which allow mining of multiple coins if you mine ArQmA there. They produce Iridium coins (IRD) for you as you mine ArQmA currently. The two pools that offer this so far are Smartcoinpool, and Semipool.
Consult with those pools that offer this option it for specific configuration. Technically, there are other similar coins you can get additional rewards on that use the same algorithm, cn-lite variant 1. At last count, it appears that also Turtle coin, BitcoiNote, Worktips, BBScoin, and others can be merge mined. Please do consider evening the distribution of hash rate to prevent centralization on the network. ArqTras is experimenting with merged mining also as possibly an adjunct to the development pool.

10. The draft of the white paper is almost complete illustrating in more detail about the payment gateway and it's impact and adoption on e-commerce systems. Argonator compiled most of the information, at nearly 50 pages. He also gives credit to SmajenZ0, Pizza Mind, and Bob also for suggestions and critique.

11. With all the updates for the GUI wallet and underlying structure of code have been tested, development of the Android and iPhone wallet is continuing by Michal and ArqTras. The private repository and auto build system is being fine tuned further to generate public source releases.

12. The web wallet was taken down, it's being rebuilt on a fresh install on a faster server. We apologize for the inconvenience. It will eventually come back online. You can still use the GUI wallet or CLI wallet to access your coins. No coins are lost since they are stored on the blockchain.

13. An ArQmA GUI manual in wiki html format is being worked on by Argonator. It's a skeleton draft at this moment, but he is listening for ideas from the community on suggestions to include. Once it is fleshed out in a majority, it hopefully will become an editable tree of instructions, guides, tips, how-tos, and expert level reading on advanced transactions.

Happy New Year! Thanks for supporting us and participating. The ArQmA Team.
