And how are you going to distribute the coins to everyone?

Electronic National ID scheme - provided by the government, but useable by anyone.

Is this database online ?

I've highlight your answer in bold

All Icelanders, as well as foreign citizens residing in Iceland and corporations and institutions, have a Personal Identification Number (Icelandic: Kennitala, lit. identification number) identifying them in the National Registry. The number is composed of 10 digits, of which the first six are the individual's birth date in the format DDMMYY. The next two digits are chosen at random when the kennitala is allocated, the 9th digit is a check digit, and the last digit indicates the century in which the individual was born (for instance, '9' for the period 1900–1999, or '0' for the period 2000–2099). An example would be 120174-3389, the person being born on the twelfth day of January 1974. The Icelandic system is similar to that in other Scandinavian and European countries, but the use of the identification number is unusually open and extensive in Iceland. Businesses and universities use the kennitala as a customer or student identifier, and all banking transactions include it. The National Registry (Icelandic: Þjóðskrá) oversees the system. A database matching names to numbers is freely accessible (after login) on all Icelandic online banking sites. Given this openness, the Kennitala is never used as an authenticator. It is worth noting that the completeness of the National Registry eliminates any need for Iceland to take censuses.

A smart phone wallet would probably be very vital for getting the coins out to as many people as possible, and will demonstrate the flexibility and exciting future cryptos hold. In this scenario a mobile wallet will be very important. So if community feels like providing one or some of the bounty portion of the premine gets dedicated to paying for such would be great. (android, since rotten fruit company has declared war on cryptos apparently)

I was going to start mining this coin back when it came out, but forgot about it. So disappointing in myself.

If my hash rate is 2,000 kh per second, how long would it take for me to mine one coin?

at a common rate of 500kh/s it's about 0.8-1 coin a day... so it'd be 3.5-4coins a day for you...

Do you know how much it was when it launched? Cheesy I feel so horrible for missing the opportunity when it was staring me right in my face and I thought it was a good opportunity.

I'm wondering if it'll increase further... sigh lol. ALways miss the good stuff, or i'm at work lol

Network hash has gone from 1.77 GHs to 4.05 GHs within the last 15 hours!  I so wish this was Scrypt Jane.

I love this idea but it seems the mining pool servers keep going up and down or there are simply not enough transactions.

Hopefully things pick up.

are you guys serious. i saw this coin going at rates of 0.007btc . i remember the release and the 50% premine joke. but now people seem not to care anymore ? did i miss something or what.
i guess never understimate the retardness of humans.

I guess you underestimate the idea of the airdrop. Auroracoin is a very appealing experiment.

I think the current prices are quite an overreaction, but interest has spiked:

I have noticed a big increase in miners on my pool, must be the 0% fees for everyone.

Kind of a shame that ops have to resort to fees as donations are really scarse.

I cannot find a decent pool at all that works all of them are either a scam or the actual pool doesn't work so you cannot mine on it.
Me too.  I'm now- trying the p2pool at crunchpool that is supposed to directly pay into my wallet.  http://aur.p2poolnodes.com:12347/static/

I think the main problem is that there is not enough work.

I will point my miner at it every day for an hour and see if it gets any better....in the meantime its back to litecoin.
