This willl end in a HUGE SCAM! Just wait and see!

Joe Manchin? Is that you?  Grin

Anyway who is to know what is in people's hearts, I remember doge was called a scam endlessly 2 months ago and here the owner went and turned down a $500k offer from business entities. I doubt many who toss around the scam card so easily would have hands that strong!
If this coin is a scam the dev can make around 105000 BTC if he sells all the coins at 0.01BTC
if it's not a scam and he pulls this one out 1 AUR will be much higher and just imagine how many small countries will search for him to make their own crypto

In the long run he has much more to win than in the short run!

The amount of delusional thinking here is crazy. I can't even begin to understand how someone could think that not only will Iceland adopt a crypto as its official currency, but other small countries will contract the developer to do the same. 105000 BTC is like $60 million....pretty sure he'd go for that (though, any fundamental understanding of markets will tell you that there's no way he's going to get that much...but whatever).

How are the coins going to be distributed to the people of iceland. Also would everyone in that country need to have the wallet to use them. How will you keep track to see who has gotten them. I'm curious because this has true potential, but march 25 might be to soon.

I think we need a FAQ we can copy-paste on every page.

EDIT: Would write it up myself but I'm just too tired. Sad
+2
Knowing how it would be distributed should of been one of the first things specified. Like just in the OP or on the website
Yeah. A FAQ page with the link on the OP would be beneficial and declutter this thread. Also if everyone in iceland need a wallet they would all need to keep constant internet connection to use it. A central place that could keep all of the AUR desginated to the people and cash it out the same place so they wont need to use the wallet.

I wish I could short this coin. It will plummet so quickly.
I wish you could short it too.  It would be fun to see the shorts get squeezed like there is no tomorrow.

I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is -- is there a way I can short with you? You interested?
Sure!  Do you want to do a gentleman's agreement or would you like a trusted 3rd party to hold the coin?

Price rises a little and all of a sudden the thread is filled with people spouting crap who haven't bothered doing any research not even read the posts in this thread that address all and every issues you have managed to come up with.

I'd have more faith in www.solarcoin.org than this right now.  They have news, wiki, twitter and the list keeps growing.  Plus they answer questions about the initiative.  Also, they have hardcore people backing it in both financial and solar industries.  It's only a matter of time until that one goes insano.

Auroracoin has the dev and some articles backing it up.  It is definitely questionable but then again just my view.

I guess in all reality it is like everything else, something is worth what someone is willing to pay for it and that's it.

vertex output parameter not completely initialized
There is only two outcomes to this.

Either this gets ALOT of positive press to distract from the messiness of crypto being a den for criminals and sends the price through the roof.

Or this is a scam and only further erodes the trust of crypto in the eyes of the public, "ooh look what they're doing now, trying to con an entire nation now!"

Completely correct.

Stop deluding yourselves and letting your greed blind you. It will not garner interest from even a tiny % of Iceland's population. 20% of the population is under 14 years old. 20% is above 55 years old. The vast, vast majority of citizens (and the verification process on here is ridiculous, and will likely never, ever happen) will never hear of it, never receive the coins and go on with their days.

"Everyone wins." Not the people who buy in when the coin is overvalued when eventually it will be worth virtually nothing. They will lose. But, I guess, free market, only the strong survive. It just boggles my mind that there are actually people buying into this.

There is no way of knowing the outcome of this for sure, it's shady as fuck but nobody knows what can happen in the crypto game, unless you have a few million dollars I can't take that as fact, I'm just watching this coin for now.
