Have a sense we are close to the bottom now, just bought some more. Stared at the lunar eclipse, felt the wind from the pole, and thought yes... It's time for Auroracoin to turn around  Cheesy

People said the same thing when the price was at 20x the current price.
Don't bet on a sinking ship.

There are a lot of people here bound and determined to go down with the ship...unable to admit being wrong. They had warnings, they chose not to listen, and they got burned...now they're hoping beyond hope that it'll "go back up." The Auroracoin story is pretty much over.

You'll be labeled as a hater and as a troll by the bagholders for this Smiley

everyone's pretty much bored with posts like this, so i'm afraid (not really Wink ), there will be no answers..

so what if anyone wants to buy and support Auroracoin? it's their choice.. only time will tell what the outcome of all this (and not just Auroracoin, but every other crypto) will be..

nobody's telling you not to buy those new shoes, shirts, electronics, etc.. because they're shitty and in the end you loose money.. want to buy them? fine.. be happy and let other's live their lives and make their own choices (be it bad or good - which is a relative thing anyway.. no one knows what's good or bad in the final outcome)

Did any Icelanders receive the AirDrop?
Some did. But unless you believe 10% of an entire nation is suddenly aware of crypto currency, there is some amount of foul play going on.
True...there is a constant supply of AUR....as many as you want (if anyone wants to buy a lot...you can do it right now  Smiley ). It hardly makes sense that so many icelanders are downloading wallets and selling out 31 AUR for a piddling amount. There appears to be a big supply, though I could be wrong as things always look worst at the bottom....Thing is there is no indication we have found a bottom.
Still... I'm going to buy some soon-ish  Smiley....as it is getting to be a good risk reward play IMHO

The big problem of AUR was attach and marketing it with a relative dollar/BTC price.
Each time I read a press media talking about how much USD or BTC the Icelander will receive, they promote the self destruction of AUR. The press media and many forum members only talk about the value in USD so everybody see the coin as a temporal (non future) BTC/USD coin for free. (Really bad)

It happen many many times with other countries in the past, with the official currency of the country attached to the USD (many LatinAmerican countries had the same situation in the past). It happen with the official currency of Iceland, and the only way to stop it was to install an non-operative valve control.
Check Blackcoin, same thing, is loosing value now. there is no way to compete with giant forces.

Is almost impossible that you can follow the US dollar (or the Bitcoin market) with a weak currency (or new crypt-currency).

To AUR be successful, the Icelander need to link the value with something that they have internally, in abundance and in high demand.
Again, link to external forces will force the coin to go down, there is no other way. There is no other pressure relief valve to compensate the huge difference.

Solution:

1 AUR = 1 KW/day.

The value of the AUR should be the internal capacity of Iceland, no the external capacity of other countries or external forces.

Icelanders have tons of resources to make profit with advantage (technology to optimize and export electricity via internet).

Icelanders need to understand that the value of their coin is not in USD or BTC is in KW/day.
The only way to succeed in the second airdrop will be marketing the new reference value, and promote to all media that the coin
is NOT AUR <-> USD or AUR <-> BTC
It is AUR <-> KW/day

I'm confident that the Icelander has the knowledge to RECYCLE energy with the low temp average. if not, I can help with that (and extend the profits of selling KW/days / AUR on internet).

Since you're getting mostly wishful answers from bag holders, here are the real answers:

Did the Dev's dump the premine on the exchanges?
There's no way to tell. The entire thing is setup in such way they can just claim the coins were "airdropped".
Did any Icelanders receive the AirDrop?
Some did. But unless you believe 10% of an entire nation is suddenly aware of crypto currency, there is some amount of foul play going on.
Are the Dev's the same Dev's from Panda?
Nope. But a few panda devs do stink up this thread.

Just came across this: aurmarket.is

Nice to see some infrastructure rolling out.

Yes, great to see, though for the moment it's probably putting downward pressure on the AUR price. But , that will end....sometime  Smiley

.Yes !   Clearly coinkite.com is the answer to combat the price from dropping.  Forget Cryptsy & Bter...we need coinkite LoL
Well the evidence is that it had a dramatic effect on the Blackcoin price.
So I'd prefer to at least have some evidence to support my theory, and as we AUR has already been accepted, it seems reasonable to me that it is an option to consider.

If you have better ideas, maybe you can outline them and provide supporting evidence.

One of the factors that drove the recent Blackcoin price was the addition to this somewhat exclusive list.
If only the AUR community could do what the blackcoin community did.
We are almost there.

Update: April 9th, 2014

After just one day in our list, the BlackCoin community has contributed about 265,372 BLK, valued at more than ฿25 at total's exchange rates. We will be adding BLK support, for all Coinkite members, targeting completion by June 1st.

Come May 1st, we will be returning all other donated coins to each respective foundation. If there is interest, we could add more altcoins should they make it past the goal line by then.

 Which currencies are we considering?

Currency   Symbol   Notes   Status   Contribution address
Bitcoin   BTC   Numero Uno   added   -
Litecoin   LTC   2nd biggest   added   -
Testnet   XTN   For development   added   -
BlackCoin   BLK   1st Winner!   WINS

Dogecoin   XDG   such community!   open   D8JgMzftfNg6xy5kro3tZPbS8v4yaq3W8t

Mastercoin   MSC   Powerful   open   18TTDyY9f7JBuJnwYVKSaQk4He9LgDCRg3

AUR is also the lowest market cap of any of the coins under consideration so on that simple methodology may represent the best risk reward play.

But I think some icelanders claimed other people's coin.
This would not surprise me. There is a seemingly endless supply of AUR being dribbled into the market, at prices that are probably marginal for an individual to go to the trouble of selling them

I am not sure if this is just manufactured FUD or if AuroraCoin is a premine scam, can you guys answer some of these questions?

Did the Dev's dump the premine on the exchanges?
Did any Icelanders receive the AirDrop?
Are the Dev's the same Dev's from Panda?

If non of these questions are relevant can you guys explain what's happening with AuroraCoin?

No/Yes/Probably no

It's absolutely not a scam coin, the Dev had done such a goog job.The premine can be checked in the block chain.  But I think some icelanders claimed other people's coin.

May be:1 Temporary lack of buy pressure lead to 2 Continuously price fall caused more and more people dumped their coin they have claimed to avoid further loss. 3 The coin had been pumped when there was few coins in circulation, it just didn't worth so much.We should not buy in at a high price like 0.1, 0.05.
