The price of AUR doesn't matter. People may or may not regret selling. But they had the opportunity to hold without any risk.

Some people believe that real miners didn't pay bills. Coins are not free and you can't produce value without add work.
I sold all my AUR coins with a huge lose and move out to other projects where the community have some sense about hard work and not just "inorganic financial work".

Unfortunately, my prediction in point #2 was the final. All marketing arguments to sell the coin to the world in the home page against the fiat system and politicians are not true. The individual human greed is the real reason.

I quit from the AUR project, but I will continue reading this interesting forum, just to learn more about ourselves as humans.

It is unfortunate but true!
since the launch of this damn coin, we re hearing about the Icelanders, the Icelanders government, Icelanders parliament, the block 5400, but nobody care about miners who faced a difficulty beyond 2000 for months, finally we end up with 1 AUR = 0.004!!!
this project'll never see the day without miners, and the damage they are losers.
go and beg Icelanders to accept ur coin for free. for we 've accepted it and mine it and  today we pay dearly for our choice.
i'll not hold this shit anymore, and i drop my 130 AUR ( 2 months mining) just now!

so sad..I missed this coin...Aur is a leader in country coin. hope it will be better and better in the future.

Consider your self lucky.

The only positive is that I learned an incredible lot, and will change the way I live life.

My only hope now is Nemcoin, then I'll stop with all these coins.

And if it does end up taking off, any icelanders who jumped ship immediately and sold their Aur will effectively be poorer, since their neighbors will have more money which forces the value of other holdings downward.  (Sort of an indirect inflation.)

the million dollar question:

Who is buying these AUR?

The small group buying AUR's will have the control of whatever happen in the future with this coin. (maybe nothing).

The Future Of Work
damn i missed the warning. lost actually 70% of worth.

when i calculate correct. approx 1,5% of the coins where claimed per day.
this is ~157500 Coins supply from which hit at least ~31000 everyday cryptsy for sell.
so AUR will drop to zero in 90 days. maybe before the airdrop is finished.

This kind of money dirstributing does not work.
So every new coin with "airdrop" feature could be passed.

I've got to admit that this has been a very interesting experiment.  Lots of things have gone wrong, and I can only hope that those who invested could afford to lose their coin.  Yet you never know, this my not be over yet!  Will continue watching Smiley

Wow!

What a variety of posters with wildly different views...

Some of y'all have the "To the Moon and BEYOND!" mindset...

Others have a "through the cellar and straight to Hell" P.O.V.

Then there's the trolls...

Thanks for the entertainment!

Man o Man! This IS really the wild west scheme ... .Now this: I withdrew my few Auroras and some other altcoins yesterday from Cryptorush - today its closed to that coins, they seem to prefer to play on their own with the frozen coins ... . crazy.

http://coinjoint.info/leaked-cryptorush-dumping-auroracoin-mazacoin-potcoin-recover-stolen-bitcoin/

Under those conditions its time for a noodly appendage coin (NDL) grass root revolution with humour, i already ordered those ones.  Grin

NDL seems like a good idea to me

let's make it multichain and call them noodles

Get out while you get at least something back.

I'd like to quote myself here. You cannot say no one warned you about this scam.

There are going to be some sad bagholders when a bunch of icelanders dump their free coins.

I wish I could short this coin. It will plummet so quickly.

DON'T SAY WE DIDN'T WARN YOU. I would have made so much if I was able to short it.
yeh u're right, but we all believe that this coin will be a big step towards regularization and use of cryptocurency. we have all waited the holyday airodrop day, we have waited had fork day, and what now AUR loses 90% of its value and it continues.
if this coin will ve  future it will be profitable to those who adopt it later, but it is a disaster to those who have believe onearlier, without them it would be already dead!

Timberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !   this coin goes lower every single day.  I thought I did well lowering my average purchase price to .04...didn't know I had to lower it to .004.  I wonder if I can recycle my AUR bag ?  =)

i think the airdrop must target the bag holders, because they believe on this coin, and stay mining it with low profitability before hard fork, not target icelanders who drop all airdrop coins on exchange!

Can you refresh my memory on what the price of BTC was after 1.5 months heck you can round up to 2 months. (I do not own any AUR)

That's completely meaningless for so many reasons. BTC had the first-mover advantage, zero competition for years and wasn't restricted to use in one tiny country. You can use that as a comeback for any alt-coin. More relevant is how 99% of all alt-coins have collapsed in price 2-6 months after they were introduced.

So do you think the almighty BTC will never fall to nothing. Governments could do a few things and it will fall flat on its face. All I am saying is do not act like BTC is the holy grail. It too could fail. Yes there are a lot of crappy coins but let the markets dictate which coins will survive. No need to bash every coin because one of them might just take over BTC place on top.

Do you have reading comprehension issues? Where in my post did I say any of that?

- I never said anything about the almighty BTC. I never said anything that would indicate I thought it was the holy grail. I never say it couldn't fail. I have not bashed every coin. I just knew AUR would drop in price.

All I was saying in my response to you is that what BTC's price was after 2 months is irrelevant entirely to AUR for the reasons I pointed out. Nice strawman arguments though. God, the people on this site...

I bought AUR before the drop and have held onto it, and I'd still buy some more. There are many altcoins yes, most of them lose close to all their value, but not many have matched the ambition of Auroracoin and tried to grow the market of crypto currencies.  I expect it will look grim for another week or so at least but it will start to turn around when we start to hear more stories about how people are using it. The short term price isn't as important as how it is adopted, it's still early.
