I have been mining for a little while now, in my account it says I have 0 AVE but in the top right corner it says "Avesta Balance          0/411.109"

So is that the pending balance that just needs more time to be fully added ? I read in earlier posts that it can take like a week or something for the balance to be fully added. I just wanted to ask to check that everything is ok.

@jannoi can you please add the information on the Announcement of how much has Avesta for transfer fees.

And also had this information on the wallet, as is not possible right now to know how much will be spent on the transfer. thanks

Transfer Fees are not fixed yet. We have set it to 0.001 AVE per TX just for the sake of testing and testing the reporting.
In the future transfers between AVE accounts will probably be free.
And for Point of Sales Transfers TX fees might be set to 0.001 AVE for Priority in Proof of Work. (Avesta payment Protocol)

started avestad.exe i have always this message. is it problem?

Proof of work too weak for block ee477fac71114d9ca0216d85d752dbf23172434f8d3f0e62e5997b3ee25e90f2

The nodes are not synced currently, that's why the miner is hardcoded to mine directly to one node.

Avesta team are still doing some tests on the network and they found this was the best way to maintain the network stable for now, in future this should be different.

do we change the "threads" number in the bat file to how many cores our CPU we are using has ?

You can and should. So, if you have 6MB L3 cache you should use 3 threads, as cryptonight use 2 Mb per thread, than you have your CPU on best performance.

my cpu has 8mb of L3 cache so would it be ideal to use 4 threads ?

Yes, exactly

Just been reading through some of the recent comments, and I think a lot of people miss the point with Avesta, it's a blockchain powered payment processor (and a whole lot more) for the masses  ... it's not just another blockchain.

If you just want to be able to hold value on a publicly verifiable encrypted ledger and transfer that value to other parties\recieve value from other parties then there are literally 1000's of options out there.

That's fine for the fairly tech savy person who understands private keys and such.

But it's not fine for the average person that just want's to buy a cup of coffee. For the average person blockchain is just too much of a flaff to use.

Would you use your visa card to order something online if you had to type in a 64\128\256 character key every time you wanted to make a transaction? Maybe some would, but a lot of people wouldn't.

Blockchain isn't simple, and Avesta are trying to make it a lot simplier whilst retaining a lot of the benefits, hence you get things like account numbers instead of private keys but you also get a full blockchain explorer.

I went through hundreds of ICO's last year looking for those with the greatest promise, and Avesta came out on top because of the potential use case.

I had high hopes then, and I still have high hopes today. I'm personally really looking forwards to the day where I can walk into starbucks\costa\etc and pay for my flat white with Avesta.

Will there be a pool for mining?

This coin is a solo mining coin, there is no pool mining.

so, i won't start quoting every response i got but i will say this

i like seeing new projects with new approaches but i do care about what crypto really is about and so should you (transparency and speed versus closed systems and banking grade speeds)

this what i was trying to remind you

i wish you luck, and when you advance your project to a more transparent level i'll gladly jump aboard, but for now i will stick to my list of requirements that i have in order to join a project

About the opensource / decentralised argument.

Our blockchain/node is open source.

The platform on that blockchain is closed.
This will be come a services platform for payment services and trading etc...

And blockchain is controlled for now for the sake of development speed. We can't add a feature to the blockchain if we would have to ask the community for updating their nodes and then have mining consensus. With the fear of forks.......

The development of the blockchain started in 2015 - and was aimed for Point of Sales and mass adoption.
We're here to bridge the gap for crypto's and fiat.

And offer services where we can

i get all the points you make, don't sweat it too much and understand that until it is a real crypto with all it needs, you'll receive this type of feedback

so, maybe focus on delivering those things which people are looking for in crypto

I think there are like 2000 coins that are like that already. I think they are trying to do things a bit different with avesta. And things are just starting to work. When I started mining, i did not see any balance on my account for a week.

You are complaining about the issues that actually has kept the diff relatively low. If this would be perfect & ready & polished now, you could not mine even a one block as there would be so much hashrate on this. So be happy that you have the change.

i beg to differ, there are not 2000 coins with closed sources, no block explorers, no real wallets, and tx backifiling via excel spreadsheets over the weekend cup of coffee.

If you look at how XDAG(Dagger) and Ravencoin started you would know what i mean, open source codebase and clients from the start, i gave you a now mediocre example and a now successful one also

neither of them raised any money via ico for fully closed sources and both of them enjoyed low diff for roughly two months which is a dream come true for any miner, especially on cpu

please do your research better next time and provide better arguments!

i am not here to bash the project and move along like i don't care, i am here asking for the things that a crypto coin should provide from the start.

if a money grabbing masternode scam can put all of them online from the start what the hell is stopping you from doing it right and being commited to progress and not to quick dirty bucks???

I meant that there are 2000 coins like the one you wanted this to be. There are at least 2 new cryptonight forks per day, with all the copy paste real crypto things you are looking for.

I think this coin is directed at people who could use it, not to satisfy your tech gravings. Like switching from wallet addresses to account numbers, that one can actually write down and use.

"please do your research better next time and provide better arguments!" Please read before replying.

We have a discord channel here : https://discord.gg/AJRGAWU

You can speak to the devs there, and be part of the process.
