Whoever turns up to the conference isn't really important. They will pay someone to front with general company jargon.

No white paper, no face to the company. The longer I look into this and the more clueless people I see invested in the coin the more sure I become that this is one of the biggest ponzi's ever! Over a billion dollars! One of the best scams I've ever seen.

Does anyone know where the name Ponzi came from?...

"Charles Ponzi was the man who started it all. In the 1920’s, Ponzi promised investors a whopping 50% return in 45 days, or 100% in 90 days on of all things, international postal coupons, which he never actually purchased. He earned $15 million and became a millionaire in only six months. When Ponzi was caught one year later, investors received a mere $5 million back. He was charged with 86 counts of mail fraud and sentenced to 5 years. During his time in federal prison, he was prosecuted again in Massachusetts, but Ponzi claimed double jeopardy and his case went to the Supreme Court. He was then sentenced to seven to nine years in state prison. After Ponzi was released, he launched another scheme, where he sold real estate that was literally underwater. Not surprisingly, the namesake schemer was jailed yet again, and ultimately died penniless in Brazil, working as a translator"

Charles Ponzi offered profits of 50% in 45 days. Very similar to the profits claimed by Bitconnect.

Charles Ponzi never bought the coupons, and Bitconnect never had a trading bot.

Who is the team behind this coin?

I have found an interview with a guy called Satish. https://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwi2t8mgtOTWAhVCkJQKHXWbDU4QtwIIJzAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dw4kPDv9YKqA&usg=AOvVaw1zOx8mEYHdITRenLB2xS1T

I have a feeling he's just the front man in all this? His LinkedIn is very limited: https://www.linkedin.com/in/satish-kumbhani-614974140/?ppe=1

Any other names associated with this coin that anyone knows about please let me know! Thanks

Why not answer questions publicly like who is Ken Fitzsimmons?

Maybe we don't really know who is behind Bitconnect but the fact is that crypto is facing challenges on daily basis.
What i mean by that is that at anytime any goverment, intistution or powerful unit may want to shut down this business and it is better to by anonymous maybe.

Decentralized system is main power of crypto and Bitconnect has proper good coin along with even better platform.

I don't understand why this coin has a market cap over 1 billion dollars.  The Bitconnect code is old and hasn't had a significant update since they started:  https://github.com/bitconnectcoin/bitconnectcoin/commits/master
Most of the 30 code commits are updates to their documentation or readme files.   It is an old Peercoin clone without the code fixes.  What am I missing?
They updated with the pos and mining they added. Peercoin and the other are just references for the POW/POS hybrid. Nothing was cloned.

Funny, people calling scam fire disaster for quite some time now. But price still goes up and people make quite some money from it. Maybe one should reconsider their mindset and instead of trying to FUD all the time to invest some. Not going to be scared because of those who miss the train and try to bash something that works day in day out. Who is the scammer here? BCC or those crying that it is a scam? I think those FUDDERS :-)

Keep crying, see you guys at 10 Billion marketcap.

Definitely a ponzi scam, don't buy it, it will collapse like E-dinar or onecoin. Let these shit die.

The project is still running since a lot of investor and traders still seeing it has a future. There's no way to FUD a project if you're not part of it and not gaining profit on the investment program that they have.

As for now, Bitconnect coin is still rising up once again and it didn't go below more than $100 and i would say that it could exceed and get on the between the value of $150 - $200 within a couple of months.

I suggest that you two get a room and procreate, then name the offspring, regardless its sex, Fud von Junior.

As we are discussing all the similar coin lending platform, I found this link quite amusing ($1.20 nice, he says --  it's now close to $20 again). Lending now would be $1700 v $100 two weeks ago: https://youtu.be/2-i5Mr550Sc?t=190

Do you agree that people just holding the coins are the only ones taking a risk ? The game isn't very complicated. Lending is actually the safest option. The system keeps the price from crashing easily.

Regardless of whether a particular person thinks it's a scam or not, surely anyone can see that lending is by far the most risky way to use their system?
And that's not unique to bitconnect of course, it's just so blindingly obvious I'm surprised by your post. It's the only action you can take that locks up your funds away from your control for extended periods of time. Coin holders can sell their coins any time they like.

The only reason it's less risky, is because the market can crash, making the coins worth less. When you lend you fix the investment amount in USD and get a third of it every month (if you compound for a couple of months you will get two thirds of the initial amount every month from then on). Obviously, this interest rate could change, but they are guaranteeing the value of your investment. That's the whole point of the system. If they commit fraud by not guaranteeing that, then obviously that would be a problem.

The 5th 'clone' hasbricks or whatever looks like it was written by a very poor programmer but RegalCoin has done a recent jump in the last few hours: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/regalcoin/#charts and hasn't even started its internal exchange yet (remember this coin was sub $1 just over a week ago and made many people very rich- apparently they have a 'matrix' system for affiliates which I don't really understand but makes it profitable to help those under them to fill in their left and right leg affiliate spots but they cap this income to $21000 weekly).
