Will the real the @realbminer please stand up? I repeat will the @realbminer please stand up?

I'm building a Progressive Web App for monitoring several instances of bminer (different rigs/pc's, with a service worker to let you know when a rig is down), but i'm not able to get the (status)data loaded into javascript. It requires that the API server sends the right headers so that javascript is able to pull the data, which isn't the case right now (i can use a PHP proxy ofcourse but then i can't share the magic with the public).

Please add something like this tot the server:
Quote
Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *
More info: https://enable-cors.org/

This is the error i'm talking about:
Quote
Failed to load http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/api/status: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://domain.ext' is therefore not allowed access.

Greetings,
A mining addict Grin

PS I tried sending you a PM but i don't think you read those (maybe i'm wrong, and you don't care about my plan/app, but please let me know so i can go on building other cool stuff).

It should be fine for the status API. Will look into it in the next release or two.

feature request:
Can you make it configurable on what GPU's to start mining?
I'm thinking about mining zencash with hynix cards and eth with samsung cards in 1 rig
so beeing able to start mining on gpu 0 and 1 for instance would be sweet

This is supported out of the box via the -device flag. Please see https://www.bminer.me/references for more details.

I actually switched back to DTSM now...

The pool shows me the same hashrate, so this guy is either lying about the hashrate or he is taking more dev fee than he says he does.

Either way pretty scammy.

Plus, he can't even get e-mail adresses working properly.

I have asked >10 users to try out the feature of putting email into the username and all of them report it is working perfectly. Can you double check your command line?

I told you three times already what I entered and what I got out of it... I'm actually progamming every now and then myself for years now, please don't try to tell me that I'm too dumb to use some simple command line arguments and URL encoding while you need us to put 'stratum://' inside the argument instead of just adding it inside the code of the miner. (with an argument if you need a different protocol, if there even are any others that are still used)

Damn, just make it open source, so I can fix this obnoxious stuff myself.

Agreed. My problem is different -- dies with no output on Windows -- but my experience & impression of the program author is the same. No useful troubleshooting questions asked, no useful troubleshooting information offered... just open source it and provide compile instructions, people can help you make your program better.

DSTM and EWFB work without problems.
Any ideas (running version 5.2.0)

Run for two days and still cannot reproduce the error.

Have you tried different mining pool?

Same machine, same cards, same pool, same running time from scratch, same ... everything is the same ... running for 48 hours now

bminer has somewhat lower pool reported average hashrate but higher cumulative actual payout by ca. 3% on the pool side.

http://oi68.tinypic.com/2i7pk3o.jpg

Will keep it running until the weekend and then start switching if the status persists

status after 72 hours... averages are last 24 hours and irrelevant now. the actual pool payout is ca. 4.5% higher for bminer. I will let it run for another ca. 48 hours before final decision. It runs on full autopilot, I dont even look at rejected shares or anything else. And it is 2x1070 for each miner.

It would be interesting to know with which cards you are mining with.

Another fantastically buggy miner. Roll Eyes  It doesn't even recognize it's own -watchdog option.  Just like EWBF, it won't exit when it needs to.

Back to DSTM.  Too bad it kills the rig after hours and hours.

Can you post your command then?

See https://www.bminer.me/examples/#exit-immediately-in-case-of-network-failures on how to disable watchdog.

Tested longer, pool side I'm getting about 10sol/s per card more on 1070's.

I'll take it, my new miner. Please lower the fee though Sad

Can someone help me add bminer to nemosminer? I add it, and it runs ok, but it never ends benchmarking. Any help is appreciated Smiley

Just a FYI who ever kraken99111 is/was on the official Zcash forums as been banned for creating multiple sock-puppet accounts to promote this miner.

There is promoting a new mining software then there is above and beyond what was happening on the Zcash forums. Please be careful with this mining software,

https://forum.z.cash/t/new-miner-bminer-a-fast-equihash-miner-for-cuda-gpus-5-1-0/26197/29

I noticed that Bminer has been recommended on Crypto Mining Blog

https://cryptomining-blog.com/tag/bminer/

Doesn't mean that there isn't an issue some where.

Its closed source =  flag for me.

I actually switched back to DTSM now...

The pool shows me the same hashrate, so this guy is either lying about the hashrate or he is taking more dev fee than he says he does.

I want to give bminer a chance despite everything so I just did another 24 hour test and while bminer 5.2.0 claims it is 2.7% faster than dstm (1875 vs. 1825), the average hashrate at the pool came in slightly lower (1835 vs. 1850).

Since performance is nearly the same other metrics have to be considered such as the console output and stability. In this case, stability was the same for both, with less than 1% rejected shares and no crashes. I prefer some things about dstm's console output - reporting each GPU temperature, in particular - but I like bminer's running total of accepted vs. rejected shares. Both of these miners would benefit greatly from some Claymore-style color coding, however.

I won't go so far as to say bminer's author is lying or scammy, but I have said that I don't think he deserves to collect a 2% devfee while the program is still in alpha/beta stage. Yes, that is the same devfee as dstm, the best performing/most popular Equihash miner, but bminer is neither the best performing nor most popular.

EWBF is still more popular according to devfee amount.

EWBF: https://zcash.flypool.org/miners/t1fJuHWrfcWnYMYyP9VAF96vRnvND2NziMG

DSTM: https://zcash.flypool.org/miners/t1NEpmfunewy9z5TogCvAhCuS3J8VWXoJNv

Claymore is making even more.
