I still saw many inactive account for over 3months in this list https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21000833/Bitsend/Giveaway%202016/Giveaway.txt
why not just remove them from airdrop list? anyway I can help to find these inactive account well honestly I like if my shares become bigger with these inactive account removed lol

I don't know why i'm on your list.... But of course i'm not inactive as anyone can verify. Rather that this i'm also partecipating in Bsd project with translations.

Your purpose is right but probabily you shoud revise your criteria.

I do not have any real experience with setting up a network to be secure against a focused attack, or as a server so I'm not sure how to really factor the pros and cons of running a masternode at home vs renting a VPS monthly.
It's essentially typing in a handful of commands. A guide can be found on the BitSend forum.

What are the storage size needs for running a masternode?
Less than 1 GB.

What amount of bandwidth and network traffic would be needed?
I don't know the exact amount, but it is negligible.

I'm trying to figure out how expensive of a service would be needed if I rented it. Thanks! Smiley
A ~3$ VPS will do.

Watching Chainz, the coins are slowly moving out of exchanges and into the >1000 wallets.  Wallets are being created like crazy.  Good directions.

Thank you midnightminer
Do you have updated this explorer? It shows the wrong price and is outdated.

Steve,

Explorer is all up to date.  Yes, the market price is wrong and working on the fix.  One of the markets is causing a script error, therefore none of the markets update.

MasterNode list is in the works.

In regards to running a masternode on a home computer vs renting a VPS - what are the downsides of running it on a PC at home? Is it a security issue, performance issue, or something else that makes renting a VPS a more viable option?  I'm nowhere near to the requisite 25k BSD at this point, but I like to plan for the future when I can. Smiley
You do not want to use a computer that is used for various things to be used for a MN. With each application or service that you install, you may be opening doors to intruders. This is worsened by several factors if you are running on some Windows version (especially if older or outdated). A VPS that runs a bare bone Linux with some minor network tweaks to prevent SSH brute-forcing attempt et. al. is the right way to go.

My thought was to set up a modest PC specifically for running the masternode and nothing else. I have the 90% of the spare parts on hand to build something like that today if I had the BitSend needed. I would be running Windows 10 64bit Pro.

Ok, thanks, it might be still good to keep that one as well, if it doesn't cost too much.
Indeed. I don't know how much it costs, but Chris can check it out.

www.bitsend.info - that site was working some days ago, now, it won't load anymore
What's up with that?
It loads just fine over here. It must be an issue on your end. http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/bitsend.info.html
Strange stuff, I'm not having problem with other pages I am aware of,
but I can access www.bitsend.info only through google cache. I checked your link and it says it's up.
Last google cache is about 8 hours old.

Maybe there's a partial outage or somehow it's not propagating properly.I'll check again tomorrow

Bitsend.info is working fine here for me.

I stopped the node and restarted it.  Cannot tell if it cured it or not.  Still says POS_ERROR in the masternode list.
It would be very helpful if you told us the setup that you're using. Is it possible that your external IP has changed in the meantime?

No, ip is the same.  Running in windows 10.  I have connections now and it looks like the restart did it, it just shows up on list with error, but maybe that take time to change?

What else might there be?  I will see if I get a reward here shortly.  Should get one in the next few hours if it works.

You can delete your local mmcache.dat

Where is it stored?  Is it a specific file or the machine cache?   The node looks like it is running, got connections in and out and it is showing traffic through it.  Have not gotten another reward yet, but only been running from restart for about 7.5 hrs.  I will let it run another 12 or so and then worry about it if it does not get rewards.

Been researching the movement of the coins with the wallets and increasing supply. It sure looks like the coins are creeping into more and more wallets.  The base is growing and it looks very much like DASH did at the start.  I think you are going to have a winner here down the road.  It is looking better each day.

Good work!  I will let you know if node still has issues, but it probably is fine.  Thanks for the response.

Ok, MNCACHE.DAT.  Duh, figured it out after some sleep.  It worked.
