Getting a pool together would be great

Its been 48 hours and still no block.
Im waiting to see if this actually works before getting ahold of several harddrives.

Same here. It is cheaper to buy a bunch of hdd's compared to gpu cards, but results have to be worth it first. I haven't found a block since I started 60 hours ago on a 500gb drive. But I keep seeing people with smaller drives find blocks and/or find block within 6 hours of starting mining on a hdd. Luck or have people found the optimal setting to mine with?

You did start the wallet and the miner - right?

Got all 3 bats working(run, generate and wallet), I am technically inclined and Cisco CCNA certified. I just barely got the plot to finish a couple minutes ago. I did a 400GB plot on the 500gb drive.

My guess is that you should avg at least one block per day, no sure way to tell without knowing the diff though -.-

Solo mining is highly luck base compare to pool mining. Plus, there is no way to know the diff or whatever is like a diff for this coin. So, there is no way to calculate block per day.

Sure, you take your own hashrate (plotsize)  and avg the blocks per day, break it down -> avg blocks per day.

Doesn't really work though because the net is in its main growing stage and my hashrate is expending too, i can post some numbers after the weekend though, i'll be done with plot generation tomorrow, running 4700GB

Yes I started with the server so I can access the web wallet then I ran run generate and while that was going I ran the mining bat. The run generate has long finished and closed itself.

We need blockchain and exchange. Someone contacted with exchanges?

Everyone of us needs to tweet Bittrex! They will add the coin if they see lot of interest! I've tweeted, do the same!!

why are so many people so urge to sell, saying sell and sell, this coin has no pool yet, and even no logo, how can a coin with no logo lunch the exchange platform? i think dev will do these step by step , at least this coin only came out within five days, he has so many works to do ,, only what you think just mine and sell and sell,,if this coin have some steady pools and lots of miners, and a wonderful design concept, it will lunch the exchange platform sooner or later,i think there is nothing to worry about, all these need  time , need one and one step to develop.

I don't understand either, this isn't power consuming when compared to gpu mining and only uses a small fraction of power. I understand with gpu mining because you have to make a quick ROI for hardware and power cost, but this is low cost for both power cost and hardware.

I would rather have this coin organized in general, have PR started, a website, roadmap, future services/products and then an exchange.

BTW this coin is a bit nerdish , kinda like cyrptonote -  even i had trouble just opening the file and clicking start
how are we going to make it main stream if most user here have trouble with it - let alone mainstream

or do we just want to trade it between the 100 so user that have it.

I don't get what one thing has to do with another?
Most of traders/investors are not miners...
When people will understand the power of PoC, they should invest their money and start a market.
I think that for a start the procedure is nice... and a lot of help is given in this thread from various users.
These kind of experiences make it worthwhile to be part of the crypto community...

I'm convinced that more PoC coins will pop up soon.
BTW.. I don't have programming skills, but if someone from here would like to collobarate, I invite you to PM me.
I have a coin release project going on and PoC sound just the right thing for it...

Trying to get on an exchange at this stage is far too early. There isnt even any pool, a logo etc. Hitting an exchange would be the wrong move in the moment

+1

Be patient!

Plus most exchanges want a coin with a working block explorer and pool at least. This coin still needs more PR and organization in general still. Especially the mining instructions and optimization, poorly organized in my opinion.

i was hoping that restarting wouldn't impact mining

is there a way to tell your hash rate , to compair setting or from my computer to a better computer

Every nounce you've created is a hash so hashrate is defined by available plots, machine power doesn't really matter, faster hdd does a bit but my machine scans 3 TB in about 2 minutes (i7 with two normal 2 tb drives) with cpu running at 10% and hdd at 80% xD

You could simplify the steps alot, like create a GUI, look for java, check with what heap size it can run, adjust staggermant and let the user define start nounce and file size (not nounce range), done.

You could also print out estimate time left for generation.

their is nothing stopping people from just downloading wallet and buying some.not everyone mines. Wink

So this is my take (and i'm somewhat of a "techie").
The instructions are OK, but are a little misleading.
Instructions need to be more clear and concise with some "non tech" explanations.
When starting up from scratch, there needs to be an easier way to approach this. The Wallet and keywords, just too cumbersome for a regular user.
What happens if I have 2 computers? What happens if i have 2 or 3 or more harddrives or raid? Well, this needs to be clear.

I'm not against this coin, it may have it's place, but there won't be too much adaptation when this clearly looks "alpha" stage right now.
Good try, but I will pass for now. I tried getting this thing to work, got some "mixed" help from the group and actually mined for 13 hours - guess what, found no blocks and I'm using a 1.5TB harddrive (withing nothing on it other than the 2 folders for this coin).

I'm going to pass on this until this coin leaves "Alpha" and moves into a more mainstream consumer friendly model.

Good Luck Everyone.
