I think it's just the opposite...I don't think mining puts a lot of stress on hard drives.  I've only been mining for 4 months with 12 TB, but have been going 24/7 and it's been perfectly fine.  I know others have been mining MUCH longer with the same drives going. 

I'm curious, how many miners have toasted hard drives mining this? I heard it was a hard drive killer that is really good at killing older hard drives.
