Long time BTC miner and former LTC miner back in the day. Checking this out now. Have a 3TB drive sitting around.
Downloading the BURST_Wallet_GUI_Setup_0.2.5.exe file now. Anything I should know starting out? I mean aside from all the instructions etc.
The GUI wallet is very simple to use, only thing I would say is when you go to mine, make sure you set your reward recipient, that's the first step, you assign your wallet to mine to the pool of your choosing, THEN start mining.
first, get a new account by clicking on the new user button, and generating the password, save the password in the account manager at the top of the wallet, add new wallet, and paste your passphrase there, it saves local and encrypted.
to plot/mine -
1. click 'write plots' and choose your drive, this button is at the bottom of the GUI.
2. select how many cores you would like to use to plot your drive, the more you use the faster it will plot, etc.
3. assign reward to a pool of your choosing (after getting funded from the faucet (or from a friend in BURST, I would be happy to fund your wallet for you))
4. Wait for your plotting to finish (could take some time depending on how good your CPU is.)
5. Once your plotting is finished, click 'start mining' at the bottom of the wallet by the write plots button.
The easiest way to do this, would be to use the web wallet...
https://wallet.burst-team.us/rewardassignment.html - This way you don't have to wait for the chain to sync on your local machine.
