When will all the coins be mined by the way?

when there will be no more coins left to mine  Wink

Mining out all the coins will also end in 12 years in Burst. This is one of the earliest of reaching the total cap in any project, which is good because we will see what happens for real. There many arguments about BTC reaching total coin cap that are both good and bad, but never has any of it come to an agreement.

When all the coins are mined, an interesting question in General. This will happen when the coins will be very expensive and will not be affordable for everyone to buy them and it will soon come or come.

These days my miner (Ver 1.70820 avx) keep showing this message:
Quote
[ERROR 942682161] deadline exceeds deadline limit of the  pool
What should I do to fix this? I am mining in pool.burstcoin.ro btw
Thanks in advance

Probably you have an outdated mining software and or poc1 plots still not converted, that in combination with an old mining software not poc2 compliant is creating this kind of messages.

Can you guide me on how to convert it? I am using blagominer from like half a year ago, where can I get the latest miner?

Latest miners PoC2 compliant

fork of blago github : https://github.com/JohnnyFFM/miner-burst/releases
CreepMiner : https://github.com/Creepsky/creepMiner/releases
jminer : https://github.com/de-luxe/burstcoin-jminer/releases

Is more than 6 months that i don't use blago, i'm using jminer and creep but all are good.

And this is the converter i'm using (windows) https://github.com/JohnnyFFM/Poc1to2Converter/releases

But great tech will only be great if there is massive usage of the platform. PoC is great because it makes mining more efficient, the Dymaxion is great because users can open tangles and use the Burst's decentralized blockchain for settlement. I hope PoCC's plans for marketing will be shared to the community soon. We need institutional users.

With that said, does anyone think that disabling the asset exchange and crowdfunding is a good idea? I think it is.

I have another question. Because hard drives are cheaper, have a large surplus in supply and it consumes less electricity for mining then wont the coin using it for mining be cheaper as a result? Comparing it to gold mining, what if gold can be found everywhere and mined easily with a shovel. That will make gold cheaper wouldnt it?

Yep. That too.

Still if enough people holds the coin no matter what their mining costs are, coin can still go up. Burst is a speculative coin almost like any other coin out there.

Do you think a btc miner would be holding his coin just because he spent $6k to mine it if there were no buyers at all?

Maybe yes, maybe no. But some of those miners will eventually sell them for pennies just because they have bills to pay. Because they invested too much in mining. Those who can afford to hold, will hold. (Usually the small miners who can pay the bill from their pockets)

That's not the exact situation with burst. Zero mining cost here. That's why it's completely speculative. That's why I suggest you to not buy too many HDD's. Throw 500-600 bucks at most and be done.

Btw, I just realized it is not healthy to look at the situation just by thinking the mining costs. Burst has a great tech too. You should take this into consideration.

There are hundreds of dead coins with the exact same PoW mechanism bitcoin has. They still died anyway which means mining algo/PoW itself don't mean much.

My read speeds went a lot higher after starting to use the new PoC1<>PoC2 miner. (3*8tb rig, went from 25-30 secs to 41-42secs)

I will keep using this till all the big miners upgrade their plots to PoC2. If you are a small miner like me you should take advantage of this situation too. Don't be hasty to replot your hard drives.

Would you say that the purchase of your hard drives for mining is worth it? I am also planning on building a mining rig for Burst and later for Chia or SpaceMesh. But the Chia faq on mining said that it will not be profitable.

Nope. Not now.

Both my 3*8tb HDD's and my only gtx 1070 ain't mining shit since February.

Just like with everything you do, mining is just another risk. If you are willing to take it (or how much you are willing to take) or not, it is up to you. Markets may go full FOMO again in the future and that's the only time when I'm going to get close to have my ROI probably. But then... why not just buy the damn thing (coins) right?

Good thing with HDD's is, you can still use it for your own personal NAS device if everything goes to zero. HDD's almost don't consume any electricity and there is almost zero competition in the business. Price/tb is usually the same which means HDD prices won't be moving up and down like GPU prices. (at least that's what happened till now)

It is a very easy/safe way to have some passive income and that's why everybody's doing it and that's why profits are shit. That's why waiting for a bull run is the the only way to make money.

I wouldn't go for more than what I would use in the future. It was 24tb for me.
