Go to the explorer and search for your IP + the port you are forwarding. Its usually port 3128. Sometimes there nodes that you think are doing ok but I saw some posts on /r/burstcoin that some are labeled stuck and are not detected by the network.

The best way to find out is to do a netstat command in the terminal and see if there are peers connecting to your node.

Just done another test and found him Status=valid, Availability=100%
Looks good now, thanks!

Thats good, thanks for supporting Burst's network. The more nodes running 1.3.6cg, the faster we arrive to 90% and then the PoC2 upgrade, the Dymaxion and more.

Its a good time to be in Burst. By the time this year is over we will hopefully have one of the best platforms to build new projects in.

Burstcoin seems to be the best performed coin in recent weeks, particularly in terms of HDD mineable coins.

We are sitting on 72% of all nodes running the PoCC's Burst version 1.3.6cg! But we need 90% to activate the Dymaxion upgrade + more and bring Burst development to the pinnacle of all cryptocurrency development.

https://explore.burst.cryptoguru.org/tool/observe

Please do your part and run a full node using Burst version 1.3.6cg.

I can't find my Node (running 24/7) on that page..looks like my node is just perfect? Wink

Can anyone spare 1 or 2 Bursts so that I can activate the account's private key and start mining?

The faucets either don't work or are too "intrusive". Thanks a lot! Grin

Sent. Enjoy! My good deed for the day...

Because there was still some confusion on needing one or two bursts to start mining, i updated my getting started video guide. This can be found here:

Thanks bud. I will try to mine. I have bought some Burst on Bittrex. Seems promising tech will come. But kinda concerned that they have so many implementations if the team is capable to do that?

Burst is one of the most undervalued projects in cryptomarket.
Maybe their marketing team is weak, but generaly, the product is amazing.

I expect to see major price increase in 2018

I was only born in 2000, so 2050 is easy for me Tongue
Im lucky i was born in the age of crypto, right at the perfect time where i have loads of freetime and a hunger to learn about money making. I will be crypto rich in 2025. and 2050, ill be a crypto god.

But you are a bit too young to profit from Bitcoin. You've been only 10 years old when Bitcoin could be bought for nothing. So you are too late:D You will profit from future gains like everyone else, but you already missed first wave. Fingers crossed for crypto future, though:)

Thanks I will check that!

Hi all,

I'm new to burstcoin. I'm trying to wrap my head around mining with HDD idea. Can someone kindly explain to me:
Quote
Mining: once plots are generated and stored on a drive, the miner only has to launch his mining software. It will read through his plots in order to come up with an amount of time (called the “deadline“) necessary to forge the current block. Once the deadline is submitted, the HDD becomes idle until the next block appears. Your HDD stays idle most of the time and reads through the plot files only for a few seconds for each block. The best deadline submitted among all miners is the one forging and establishing the duration of the block.
So I need to have really fast access to data, right? Is that all what matters? Fast access? How does that work with having bigger storage? I am being paid for fast access or for bigger storage being utilized? Sorry for newbie questions but I am totally new to it.
EDIT: "What is HDD wakeup" being used for?

This coin is definitely worth holding onto. Hard drives are much easier to make than GPUs or CPUs. This gives burstcoin a huge advantage when it comes to the long term. in 2025, we will still have loads of hard drives, but GPUs and CPUs will be super expensive. This trend will continue until we see a radical change in the materials used to make GPUs and CPUs. Im Hodling my burst for sure. see yall in 2050 Smiley
