Hello guys.
I have a question,i want to mining burstcoin,
It says,hdd mining.
What does that mean ?
I saw several videos on youtube, some people mining it with hdd hitachi 1tb and hdd toshiba 2tb.
Why the one who's mining with his hitachi hdd got a lot burst than the one who' mining it using toshiba hdd ?
It's based on quality or capacity ?

Hi,

It doesn't really matter what HDD you use as it's based on capacity. We are currently mining with 5 Seagate drives and 1 WD drive and we have seen no difference in read speeds. I know the Seagate 5TB drives are pretty fast at reading the drive but I think it goes for almost all drives. We went with Seagate as they seem to be the cheapest for us to buy in Australia compared to other brands.

How many burstcoin i need to forge (minimum)? Huh

There is no forging in Burstcoin, not every aspect of NXT came over.  Besides receiving them through another person, the only way to get Burst is to mine them.

OK thanks for your attention. Wink

burstcoin mining is a matter of devoting and using hard drive space to the mining protocol, then that amount of space determines your success for the most part

Quick question, what does 20 TB storage can generate for me per month when using Burst?

Thx a lot

http://burstcoin.biz/calculator

I think that calculator is a little bit too optimistic... Cheesy

All of the calculators are too optimistic - but I think it's the fault of how BURST and it's pools are structured more than anything, the pools appear to only report the size of the last machine that reported a deadline when someone (like me) has more than one machine mining to the same address.

I generally figure 30% less than what the pools estimate.

This is why I always tell people not to go by what the calculator tells them as it's only there for a guide on what could be earned mining from the amount of TB. I have never used the calculator yet and just go by the average we mine in a month which for us is around 3,000 to 7,000 Burst coins using 20TB. And we average around 1 block mined each week, some weeks it can be 2 blocks depending on how lucky we are as it all comes down to luck when mining any crypto currency.

Why are my posts being deleted?

This is an unmoderated thread but Spam in huge letters is still not allowed by the bitcointalk.org mods/admins. Please don't clutter this thread.

Lol...

I posted Burstnation.com in large letters. Definitely not spam, especially since so many people come here with basic mining questions that could be answered much more quickly there.

Where I find mining topics? How profitable is mining Burst?

You can try the Burst discord if its helpful come back and give my account a trusted rating. im doing my best to get involved in the community and help as much as possible.
Also a newb developer learning everything about this amazing TECH.

I believe if you believe in BURST than mining should be profitable more in the long term. It really seems like the believers in the tech who hold through all the crazy swings will be the real winners in the long run when we see the moon.

 1) buy and hold
2)mine and hold
3) backup all your wallets off an exchange for a long hold BURST WILL HAVE ITS DAY ON THE MOON! Wink

Hope I was helpful

I reviewed permissions and all the settings on dropbox, all are in order.  At this speed, I would have the use 2.5 GB plots and upload them via the site interface.  It would take weeks and a lot of pain in the ass efforts to establish even a 5 TB dropbox plot set.  Any thoughts? Experiences?

Here’s the issue, for whatever reason, working with dropbox through Netdrive has become very slow and very problematic.  The “unlimited” space breaks down into 5 TB chunks when used in this way.  Moving a small 50 GB plot was so slow from my house that it fails before completion.  All the way down to a tiny 2.5 GB plot, the speeds are creepy slow.  I read in the terms that dropbox has a 10 GB limit, but even under that bar, it is slower than you can imagine.  My internet at the house is nearly the same as the office and this is the same house where I used dropbox during the first experiment.

Has anyone ever had issues using dropbox with plots?  When I first got started with Burst, I experimented with using Netdrive and various cloud storage services, mainly OneDrive, Dropbox and Google Drive.  I remember not having any issues at all after a short period of tweaking.  It was just an experiment and I went back to using our local hard drives because they are free and using more than the “free” amount of cloud services was going to increase the mining cost and the free amounts were too small to matter.

I will share my experience. I still have dropbox storing some business files and this week they emailed me with a ridiculous offer for “unlimited” storage.  It was still too high a price for mining Burstcoin, but I have started under trial conditions for our office, to be used next month.  So, when I got home I decided that since my business was covering the cost, I would try setting up some plots on dropbox using the same method as before.
