As Cash sources src/main.h file claims

Code:
static const int64 MAX_MONEY = 47433600 * COIN;

i suppose 47,433,600 is CASH coin theoretical maximum.

I'm looking trough the specs and I can't find how many total blocks will be mined.

I know the max coins depends on the difficulty variable but how many total blocks will there be mined.

I'm trying to figure out how long this circus act may go on for.

Thanks!

I wouldn't ditch your CASH just yet.  The price is low now, but if it is ever revived, well the block reward decreases exponentially as the difficult rises.  What do you think will happen to the difficulty and block reward when an army of scrypt ASICs gets pointed at it?

where is the dev Angry

The Dev is either:

A) Dead

B) Napping

C) Hibernating

D) Hiding until he accumulates a LARGE majority of CASH

E) He's never existed and CASH is simply a digital hologram - an illusion of our overactive Crypto-Imaginations

lol, maybe he is on the worldcup. Grin

AAAHHHHHH, what a perfect answer for option F.

Better yet, he is PLAYING in the World Cup.

Yes, I'm gonna have to update the questionnaire.  lol,

Is anyone here currently mining CASH?  If so, then do you know what the break-even point is right now on mining CASH?

I don't own any miners so I'm trying to figure out if the people mining CASH at this price are making any profits, after energy costs and stuff.

That could tell us of the current miners are motivated by either quick profits or if they're trying to accumulate CASH coins for a different reason.

Thanks.

I think no one mine it now.

There is several people mining it at cash.minebig.com. Hashrate is about 18 Mh/s
http://cash.minebig.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool
Profits is about the same as any other coin.
On an average miner with 2000 kh/s you would make about 600-650 CASH a day. A miner like that uses about 1000 watts.

Unfortunately this has always been a problems since the start and one we have always pushed that should be fixed, but the Dev never responded on.
The is no easy way to get total network has power but we can take a guess.
Aparently you can work it out based on the difficulty, but I don't know the forumula so I will work it backwards based on pool results from Mine Big

Blocks have been averaging between 23.5 and 24 Cash payout, so we will take the average 23.75 per block
The top hasher has 2500kH and the pool stats says he will make 667 cash in 24 hours.
There are royghly 1440 blocks a in 24 hours so he makes 0.463 Cash per block.
As we are working on there are 23.75 coins per block he is producing about 1.95% of total network hash power this would give us a total of 128185 Kh, or 128 MegaHash. (If my maths are correct), which is much higher than I was expecting being the two pools I'm aware of only account for around 18MegaHash.
Must be some large solo farms mining cash too.

You can see what cash is worth dollar wise here
http://coinmarketcap.com/all.html

At the moment its dropped to 224 on the list and worth $ 13,733 US

Thanks for the breakdown.  So it seems most of the CASH is being solo mined.

That's interesting.

And they're grabbing almost 1 million CASH per month.  That's about the same as the figures off the top of my head.  So how many million coins would the dev need before he feels he's got full control of the coin?

That's the question.

Does anybody know now much hash power is mining CASH right now?  Not just the hash rate but dollar-wise, now much money is accumulating CASH right now?

Thanks!

Yes your comment two posts above I think has pretty much got it all.

This next bit of text is taken from the ReadMe file in the sourece for Cash which I downloaded a whole ago, though my coding skills is too crap for me to make sense of most of it, but this should be useful

'
Cash Crypto Tokens

Based on NVC/BitGems
Proof of Work/Proof of Stake Hybrid
Scrypt
Linear Difficulty Retarget
5 Confirms
10 Tokens Per Block
Maximum of 47433600 Tokens
Default P2P Port: 7685
Default RPC Port: 8385'

So based on Nova Coin which was the first fork of PPC.
If you download the source even without looking at the code and just reading the readme files you can find out a lot

One more question.

I read somewhere that CASH is a copy of PPCoin, is this right?

What was the purpose of this?  The goal?

I saw that early on, that Mullick and BitJohn were commenting on this thread.

That's not very common.

So I'm wondering if Cryptsy is looking at adding a 3rd market [again].  They removed PrimeCoin I believe it was but I don't know why.  It was nice to have a 3rd market with a cheaper coin which fell right between BTC and LTC.

With so many alts coming out with massive dilution, they will need a third currency for a 3rd market although Im not sure how CASH would fit as they would need an ultra cheap currency with massive supply.

Either way, that's a long shot but the name and the design suggest some serious thinking and a plan which thus far, the dev has been the exact opposite.

When something doesn't make sense in Cryptlantis, then you have to find the angle and if you find it before anyone else, well, that's where the pot of gold should be.

Cheers!

Payout per block is linked to hash power, the more hash power on the con the less it pays out.
This was the idea to keep asics off the coin, downside is when there is not enough hash power on the coin like now, its minting 25 coins per block, at its peak it only made around 19 per block.

I can't unfortunately remember or find now the details exactly on POS, but I do not that POS  was planned only to slowly take over and not reach 100% for a few years (I think 4 but I could be wrong on that).
I also do not know if changing level of POS is already coded in or needed a hard fork.

So to get the number of coins down mined every day more people need to mine it, and as you have pointed out at the moment its bleeding itself to death due to the low volume of miners on the coin.

Thank you for your input.

So if I wanted a lot of coins [without buying them] I would then act very flaky and unpredictable so that the price would collapse [with the added help of a trading algo] and then most miners would lose interest due to very poor ROI which then would mean I could mine CASHcoin mostly to myself and also get way more coins because now not only am I mining alone, but the payout is bigger.

Did I miss anything?

So the question is:  How many CASHcoins does this dev want?  What's his goal?  Cause he should easily have over 1 million coins by now.  And the best part of the algo is that once he comes back, the price goes up and the miners come back and then the block payout will be much smaller so it would be very difficult for anyone to ever catch up to his share of the coin.

This algo is a very clever way to do a slow motion long term instamine.

Hey, he gets a 10 for creativity and execution.  I don't care cause if you can see this and you're not just being delusional then you too can buy tons of CASH dirt cheap.   If you're wrong of course, you'll lose it all cause CASH is abandoned.

But I don't think so.

I think there are bigger plans for this coin.  The execution was much too good for the dev to just evaporate like Thomas Nasakioto.  Haha!

Hopefully the dev will be content with ~2 Million cause that would ensure he'll have the necessary funds to get rich and make the coin work, longer term.  That would mean he should be done playing games in about 30 more days or so.  Just keep the difficulty low to help him reach his goal sooner.  lol.

Does anyone know when CASH is supposed to reach terminal mining and go full PoS?

My feeling is the dev is gonna play hide and seek until PoW is nearly finished.  So I'm curious how long that's gonna take.  Might be better off selling at a loss here and putting that money to some good use until this dev wakes up.
