thanks doog, just saved me 3 hours of doing math

I used a little Python:

Code:
$ python -c '
x = int(100e8); y = 1
while x:
  print "%2d %12.8f" % (y, x/1e8)
  x /= 2; y += 1'

OK guys, I'm running low on xJDCLAMZ vanity addresses again.

It's time to reopen the contest.

Rules exactly the same as before:

Get and build the CLAM-compatible version of vanitygen from here: https://github.com/dooglus/vanitygen

Then run this command:

Code:
oclvanitygen -CP 0257DEAE526EEF77D275447D70F233DCF0DBF50AF0C239AD0C46CE1A6D48849B1F xJDCLAMZ

C for 'compressed', 'P' for 'public key'.

The public key means only the person with the corresponding private key (ie. me) will be able to know the actual private key you find.

Post the key it finds here, and I'll pay 100 CLAMs to the earliest dated non-edited such post.

100 CLAMs for the first, 50 for the 2nd, 25 for the 3rd, and so on forever, with the reward halving each time. Multiple payouts per user are allowed.

Edit: Please note that the address must be *compressed* - use the 'C' flag to vanitygen. Two qualifying keys already found. Next prize: 25 CLAMs.

 FIXED - Huh - My Clam Client (64bit) doesn't show that it is importing the bootstrap.dat.

Is there anything I can do or should I just wait?

I put the bootstrap.dat into the same folder as the wallet.dat file.

Do they need to be separated from the client folder, because I have all 3 files in
the same folder.

Thanks for any assistance with this.

EDIT - Download it, put it into the same folder as your CLAM wallet.dat, then restart the client. On Windows, this folder is "%appdata%\Clam".

This is what worked for me.

Yes that was April's fool and now it's over.

I should 'fess up and admit to being taken in for a short while but I didn't go down without a fight (retrieved from drafts):

Not sure how, but looks like this account has a Dash symbol?

Is there a ref doc on the icons?

I find I no longer care. I see it as a timely reminder from Theymos to be aware that inaccurate metadata manifests as misrepresentation and that, in turn, suggests dissembling.

In keeping with the basic principles of cypherfunk-derived cryptocurrency, it can only be a pointed suggestion to create a fresh bitcointalk subscriber address for each posting.

I can't think of any other sane reason for abusing user profiles in such a manner.

Cheers

According to the symbol under my username I've been awarded the rank of Clams fanboy... which allows me to come here and post random stuff together with buying some on an exchange Cheesy

Welcome Cheesy

I was obliged to check the Meta thread - 1st April, sigh.

Yes that was April's fool and now it's over. I mean personally it reminded me of this project which I was not following anymore: there are some many coins out there but I've always liked Clams. I should maybe start a wallet Smiley

Thanks Graham. So, if I read this correctly, 0.85M have been dug, and 1.35M generated by staking, for a total current supply of 2.2M. But does moneysupply represent total diggable clams? Does that mean only about 5% of clams that can be dug have actually been redeemed?

What's the status of percent total that can be dug having been dug? Is there a nice website that shows starts like this?

The client has this information via getinfo.

Is there a public facing daemon I can make RPC calls with? Seems a little silly to sync entire blockchain to get the answer to a simple question about a coin I don't currently own any of...

If it'll help ...
Code:
"blocks" : 1447934,
"moneysupply" : 16117986.13048927,
"digsupply" : 850917.81888962,
"stakesupply" : 1343584.72641731,
"activesupply" : 2194502.54530693,
"proof-of-stake" : 83263.57566592998
