The price has fully recovered from the 20k dump around 17th April:

and there are very few CLAMs available at less than 0.0075 BTC now:

(and not much buy pressure about 0.005 BTC either - that's quite a wide spread so it could easily go either way from here).

I may write code in exchange for bitcoins.
I have to ask for curiosity, dooglus, did you invent the clams?  Or were you in on the making or planning or launching of clams?  I'm just curious whether this is a project that you've been in from the getgo or if it's something that you stumbled across and took a liking to.

I first heard about CLAM in the Just-Dice chat tab from masterp4. He told me I should look into it because I probably had thousands of free CLAM waiting for me, since each Just-Dice user had their own deposit address, and each address was given 4.6 CLAM.

I took a look, and found that relatively few of the Just-Dice addresses were funded at the time of the CLAM snapshot, because I regularly swept almost all the coins from the hot wallet into a single offsite cold storage address.

Fri Jul 11 01:44:05 2014 (98701) and i agreed with you. it is a way to get btc, even if you hate alts.
Fri Jul 11 01:45:37 2014 (98701) in fact it is a good opportunity.
Fri Jul 11 01:46:52 2014 (98701) for example every qualify addie get you like 4 clams at the price that was yesterday of about. 0.017 you can get a good profit just with a couple of addies.

I ended up digging through all my old retired wallets (BTC and DOGE) and found a total of 52 funded address, so I got a little over 200 free CLAMs.

I liked the initial distribution method, and had never played with any proof-of-stake coin before, so I started to get involved.

Got it.  I have to say your involvement in CLAM actually brings a lot of credibility that a lot of the alts just don't have.  I'm pretty sure I've got at least one more address which was funded and whose CLAMs I haven't dug.  I'm watching and waiting for now.  Cheers!

CLAM market
About time....  Tongue
No shit!
Happy to see it added though.
The market appears to be active, but curiously I have not noticed any announcement of the addition.
I imagine they are syncing a number of coins all at once and going to do the group announcement... Maybe they got stoned and forgot yesterday Cheesy

I was happy to see how well the CLAM market dealt with having 20k CLAM dumped into it yesterday:

The price has mostly recovered already.

Usually when someone withdraws a bunch from Just-Dice to sell on the exchange, the CLAMs are bought up by Just-Dice players and/or investors and quickly find their way back onto Just-Dice. This time it's different, and only 8k or the 20k have come back to Just-Dice. I'm curious about what happened to the other 12k. I wonder whether they are being held by trading bots on poloniex who bought up the coins cheap during the dump and are waiting for the price to recover fully before offloading them at a profit. Or maybe the dump went to old existing buy orders placed by people who don't check the exchange regularly, and so they didn't yet discover that their hopeful low buy orders actually got filled.

Another possibility, coins were withdrawn to local wallets for staking

that makes a lot of sense. people want to stake on their own

i am glad it came back up to .0058 after seeing it hit 0.0038

clam is not premined, but 20k dump to me is just like a dev selling his premine.

I think if JD and you were not in clam watching every number that comes  from it, it would have crashed

ok i got 27 clams.... so was it all random? what actually dictated how many clams each address got?

Every address gets the same 4.6... CLAM.
