State of the Website:

This is a call to arms(and fingers and brains). The clamclient.com site was built by myself and creativecuriousity. While her skills are far advanced from mine, neither of us are professional web developers, and our time is limited. The bottom line is that CLAMs could use more people on the website team Smiley

No matter if you're a supergeek or this is your first time using a computer; everybody has some kind of potential for contribution. Massive growth of the CLAMs project seems imminent at this point, and we should prepare now.

I welcome any and all advice about how to move forward with the website.

Long Live the Great CLAM!

http://khashier.com/  The explorer shows Coins Created: 15101647.16439007, the number shouldn't be claimed/created?

That number refers to the initial distribution of CLAMs according to the May 12 snapshot of the BTC, LTC and DOGE blockchains. Of those 15million, less than 300,000 have been claimed. The client update should be available later tonight, which will give a precise number.

Tks, I got it, this coin has a new concept, cool!

Btw, how do you know the number of claimed coins are less than 300,000? Where can I see the figure?

The easy way to know the current supply, type this on Just-Dice chatbox

Code:
/supply

And you'll get this
Quote
INFO: 47,349 of 3,208,032 sets of 4.60545574 CLAM were dug up so far from the initial distribution
INFO: 218,064 CLAM were dug up and 148,099 CLAM were staked for a total of 366,162 CLAM
INFO: Just-Dice's bankroll of 172,684 CLAM represents 47.16% of that amount
INFO: if all the distributed CLAMs were dug up, the total money supply would be 14,922,500 CLAM

Thanks very much, CLAM is an interesting coin and JD is very functional, we can get CLAM info on JD

is there clam testnet / testnet faucets ?

I tried running with the -testnet flag, but can't find any peers.

I'm guessing the testnet was never premined or distributed. You'd probably need to point a miner at it to get it started.

CLAMS v. 1.4.3.1 CLAMspeech UPDATE:
Windows Test-Build
Linux Test-Build

Re-Sync/reindex Required.

Is this a mandatory update? If so, is the source on github current?

It's not a mandatory update, no. The previous version still works.

It was most likely built from the v1.4.3.1 tag in the nochowder repo:

    https://github.com/nochowderforyou/clams/tree/v1.4.3.1

The words "Test-Build" in the links makes me think that maybe it's worth waiting a while before upgrading.

Also I owned & still own BTC before CLAMS was released, does that mean I have hidden CLAMS somewhere ?

Yeah, you should have CLAM if your BTC/LTC/DOGE address has balance on 12 May 2014. You can easily check it on JD chatbox Wink

Do you understand the concept of distributed revision control system?

I work in my own repository, and issue pull requests.

Hint: I just linked directly to the pull request in question.

Re-Sync/reindex Required.

The intention is that the new client will refuse to run until you have reindexed the blockchain by running it with the -reindex command line option.

In Linux that's easy:

  $ clam-qt -reindex

In Windows, I'm not sure - in XP (the last Windows I used before kicking that dirty habit) you had to right-click, create shortcut, right-click the shortcut, edit the target, add " -reindex" to it, then apply, and OK. Or something like that. I expect it isn't so easy any more, with years of "improvements". Maybe someone who didn't detox yet can confirm?

Shift-right-click in the folder that contains your clam-qt client, choose 'Open Command Window Here'.

Follow the Linux instructions:
clam-qt -reindex

Easy enough.
