Re-Sync/reindex Required.
The intention is that the new client will refuse to run until you have reindexed the blockchain by running it with the -reindex command line option.
In Linux that's easy:
  $ clam-qt -reindex
In Windows, I'm not sure - in XP (the last Windows I used before kicking that dirty habit) you had to right-click, create shortcut, right-click the shortcut, edit the target, add " -reindex" to it, then apply, and OK. Or something like that. I expect it isn't so easy any more, with years of "improvements". Maybe someone who didn't detox yet can confirm?

That is the correct method Grin

There is also a short text document, included with the Windows executable, that explains what is essentially the same process.

Do you understand the concept of distributed revision control system?

I work in my own repository, and issue pull requests.

Hint: I just linked directly to the pull request in question.

CLAMS v. 1.4.3.1 CLAMspeech UPDATE:
Windows Test-Build
Linux Test-Build

Re-Sync/reindex Required.

CLAMspeech

The threat to crypto from regulators and various governmental organizations is very real and looming.

From this day forward, the CLAMclient is designed to include protected political and/or religious speech in every single transaction and block(including stake transactions) by default.

The concept is simple: CLAMs are not currency - they are a form of protected speech.

It is our hope that this might provide a reasonable legal argument against regulation or censorship of the CLAM network.

With a bit of luck, regulating or censoring the CLAM network will require the same burden of proof as protected speech.

For more information regarding the logic behind the CLAMspeech update, please see the Electronic Frontier Foundation/Reddit's reponse to the Bit License:

Comments to the New York State Department of Financial Services on BitLicense on behalf of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Internet Archive, and reddit

Special thanks to just about everyone Smiley

Please thank xploited for his hard work getting this finished; CLAMs wouldn't exist without him.
Awesome additional client functionality by dooglus, including bootstrap creation rpc commands and claim data in 'getinfo'.
More UI improvements, including customizable QT stylesheets, from tryphe.
And much, much more.

I posted the fix immediately after coding and testing it.

It's a pull request in the main CLAM git repo, along with a whole bunch of other fixes and improvements:

  https://github.com/nochowderforyou/clams/pull/84

And as I said, it will be in the next release of the client, coming soon.

Could anyone MEGA the blockchain?  Roll Eyes

Not MEGA, but good enough:

http://khashier.com/  The explorer shows Coins Created: 15101647.16439007, the number shouldn't be claimed/created?

That number refers to the initial distribution of CLAMs according to the May 12 snapshot of the BTC, LTC and DOGE blockchains. Of those 15million, less than 300,000 have been claimed. The client update should be available later tonight, which will give a precise number.

Wow, top 5 market cap coin soon. Shocked

24-hour Volume: 102.8208737 BTC / 14334.5459679 CLAM

I have a question, clam has 14 million current coin supply, why 24-hour trading volume is only 14k clams? Are whales hold the large amount of clams and they seldom trade on Polo?

I guess most of that 14m will never be claimed. There are not a lot of people that even know that they can claim . And also there are some that probably don't have private keys of that addyes anymore.

I think that most of it won't ever be claimed.

so if i buy some CLAMS.. will they have any use outside of justdice? are they overpriced now and is it too late to buy them?  Huh
what if justdice closes?
anyway i cant understand why they exist.. whats the point to use them and not dogecoins?  Cheesy

The way i see it , all alts are overpriced.

And most of them don't have other use than just trading them, pumping and dumping them.

Why Dooglus chose clams , that u need to ask him . But i think he got them coz they are free for most of people that have btc.

There are no guarantees for how long jd will run but my guess is that if they close again CLAM will crash hard.

But atm i think price will go up even more.

Thought that about DOGE too.

CLAM will grow and people will forget why it grew in the first place and that is the way the world works  Cool

So guys I just import my wallet.dat old files to the clams client and ill have free clams? (even the wallet is encrypted?)

It needs access to all the keys in that wallet.

And there is no guarantee that u will get clams u will get them only if some of ur addresses had some balance on them in May when screen shot of blockchain was taken.

Well Im never going to use those keys anymore  Grin Ill give it a try

I think you're probably right that most of it won't be claimed. On the other hand, I suspect there'll be a moment soon when a lot of people do notice. Then they're be a wave of digging. I doubt it'll hit 50% of them though.

This distribution scheme was brilliant. Good work to whoever came up with it.

I agree,  why should I risk my private keys for pennies or singles.  That does not make sense.   Now someone who has a lot of dust addresses with very little to lose and much to gain is another story completely.

U don't risk anything. U can just make new wallet and transfer btc there , and then claim CLAMS.

Also they are working on an offline way to do it.

That said , i can't be 100% sure that they didn't count on people to share keys that they use everyday with balances. And i know 2 people that done that.

But seen the code and everything i don't think that is the case here.

I think this was just a pretty fun idea on how to create yet another alt coin that doesn't make much sense Cheesy .

Dooglus liked it coz its "easy" to get and for a lot of people its free.

Im not complaining i invested 0.2 into clams at 0.0025 per clam , i sold 25 yesterday at 0.007 to get my investment back, and im still left with 75 clams that i will risk waiting for better price like 0.01 or something.
