It's a very interesting project but less of a concern. The iCo's done so fast. Such projects are more likely to enter POLONIEX.

Hi Meekz,

This blog post explains in a few different scenarios how many atoms could be created: https://cosmos.network/blog/atom-supply-distribution (It depends on how much is raised.)

By the way,
Great opportunity for those who are confident that the fundraiser will not be a success!

There is a prediction market on Gnosis about whether or not Cosmos will raise more than USD $10m. Right now the probability is at 92% of exceeding the amount. So if we don't meet that target, you stand to increase the money you put in by 12.5x. Nice right? Smiley

Here is the Gnosis market:
https://admin.gnosis.pm/#/market/0xa6306d3f05f4c6bb6483ea8f6b3b6d08a49ed0a91030d54abc40040706cc1ee0/0x6ca7f214ab2ddbb9a8e1a1e2c8550e3164e9dba5/0x4b7ce84289fb599681c9bd06d469be49ce1762b8b35adaa808f4e7beef6c76f0

And instructions on how to participate: https://medium.com/@aurynmacmillan/how-to-gnosis-ed1fef085014

Please clarify: What is the total Atoms for this project?  By the numbers it looks like ~115,000,000  (what is the cap).
Is there a bonus applied for contributors?  (Normal allocation is 500 atoms/1 Eth). There is mention:  Early Contributors will receive a discount of 15% ~ 25% (Which is it and are we considered early Investors?)

When does the ico site come to life?   https://fundraiser.cosmos.network

It's alive now, but inactive.
Tomorrow we are posting more instructions including those for Mist and the NodeJS command-line cli.

The site will become active when the fundraiser begins!

Hi. You should really come into blocknet's slack. Development is far from inactive, and progress is being made. You looked at the wrong place on github, try:

https://github.com/atcsecure/blocknet/branches

and

https://github.com/atcsecure/xbridgep2p/branches

We have seen those repos.  There isn't anything there that is at all analogous to our proposal in the Cosmos whitepaper.

Oh and I notice you guys still use the phrase 'Internet of Blockchains' in some of your communication, a phrase adopted by BlockNet a long time ago.

It's a completely descriptive phrase.  We're happy to be building the internet of blockchains, whether or not we're the first.  There will be many others that follow us as well.

Hi guys,

Indeed, the fundraiser was moved to April 6 and will start at 6am PDT. The terms and fundraiser flow for both Ether and Bitcoin are on the website: https://cosmos.network/

With regards to escrow, the funds will go to a multisig that is controlled by the board of the Interchain Foundation. That currently includes Jae, Ethan (both Cosmos founders) and Guido Schmitz-Krummacher. He is a lawyer and experienced board member. (And involved in a few crypto projects.) The foundation is a Swiss non-profit and as such as a fiduciary obligation to deploy the resources to build the Cosmos Network. The board may be extended to include further people in the future.

Some people here seem skeptical that the fundraiser will be a success. Of course, that possibility can never be ruled out, but interest in our pre-funder far exceeded what we actually accepted in commitments ($1.6m). We do have a team that is very well known in the crypto/Ethereum-space and has a strong track record.

With regarding Blocknet, it's true that they say they address a subset of the issues Cosmos aims to solve. Reading through their blog, it is unclear to me what they have actually built and how it technically compares to Cosmos. And judging from how (in-)actively it is developed, there doesn't seem to be much there: https://github.com/atcsecure/blocknet/graphs/contributors

The idea that Cosmos is "nothing new" also doesn't make a lot of sense. Even bonded PoS consensus is something new that hasn't yet been done. This will have massive benefits. For those interest, I would encourage looking at the whitepaper and stopping by our Slack.

I think ICO moved to April 5th! Great, that'll give me some time to raise some real funds.

It's April 6th, 2016.  Check out this link: https://www.worldtimebuddy.com/?qm=1&lid=8,100,1796236,2643743&h=8&date=2017-4-6&sln=6-7

Does polkadot achieves the same thing?

Cosmos and Polkadot have different designs and different focus.  The Cosmos Hub is about token interoperability between sovereign chains.  We're solving a specific problem.  Polkadot is designed to create a scalable network under the same security pool (e.g. validator set), but it also appears to be a more difficult problem to solve.

Ideally, we work on both solutions and have them interoperate.

Why no trafic here?? ico in 7 days

Whales are in their slack or telegram, so they don't talk much here. And they delayed the ICO again, so people seldom talk here. It will be very popular after ICO.

And why is that? dead thread, done before concept, delayed ICO....All red flags to me
