Looks as though the current payments would be around $25 per month, given the current Crowncoin price. However, in the future wouldn't the hosting costs go up, as the blockchain expands?

Your'e spot on with the principle but but the reality is that storage is cheap.

That said, higher spec vps will be required in the future to run services so there comes a point that we have to trust market forces to adjust the price according to the usefulness of crw when services are launched.

I have a few set up already and the process hasn't changed. I've gone through everything I can think of.
Going to do one more last from scratch setup to see if it fires up, our other throne masters are running perfectly, doing great to be honest.
If I don't get good results will see you around via ccex or through me/staby via pm on ccex

On top of that, To get them to recompile a wallet? Good luck... But go ahead and try yourself. With enough community requests. They may change the wallet.

i have tell you to give the update walet to yobit, if u want grow up ur coin its must have in many exchange, but you say yobit not update the wallet and yobit say the DEV should give them the update . or you not really talk to yobit i guess

The update has been available for weeks on Github. Multiple times I've heard of the development team contacting yobit about changing the wallet to the proper source code. But they haven't. I myself have experienced issues before with yobit as have many other developers. This is not a developer issue. This is an exchange issue. I'll say it again. Yobit sucks...
