Off topic, I know, but....

Could anyone in the UK please suggest a solid place to cash out (don't worry, not totally!)
Last time I registered with a fiat exchange was over 2 years ago. I'm hoping it's not going to be a case of sending in docs etc, but at least they're ready scanned. What sort of time scales am I looking at?

I never think to just ask the question, I'm always trying to find the right words to fit, and of course that doesn't work Tongue

It's been quite a day for Dash price.  Of course nothing compared to some coins, but Dash rarely moves th
en shows such support.  It's been going strong for over a week now.  Volume is still kind of low, unfortunately.  Anyway, I felt the need to call Toknormal for an analysis???  So in my bestest Bewitched Samantha voice

"Calling Dr. Toknormal, Calling Dr. Toknormal"
"Emergency, come right away!"

Well, ok, it's not an emergency, but is there a reason for the sudden swelling up of funds in crypto?  I fear the end is starting (end of the pyramid they call fiat).  And I'm starting to feel kinda sick.  I know it's coming but that doesn't mean I want it to Sad

LOL. At least he doesn't want you to use it...

LOL.

But still, seeing his face next to Dash is distasteful.

I agree, he should at least look sour, like we're a thorn in his arse driving him nuts while he's trying to keep his composure, LOL

Thanks much,
So I create a new addr + passphrase/key. I write down passkey on paper.
And I open my QT client and I send money on the new addr then I can delete everything (QT client...) but the new addr+paper passphrase right?
Thks

I don't recommend writing the private key out manually, it is very easy to mess up a long string of letters/numbers. The Electrum Dash wallet is excellent for cold storage and you only have to remember the 13-word seed. No wallet file to back up, just duplicate and protect your seed phrase.

This video is good for easy installation. Play around with it before you send funds and take precautions on the computer used to generate the seed.

Hi
I am big newbie
I am only interested in long term investment
I bought some Dash and I have them in my dash-qt (OSX) client
I backed up the wallet in a .dat
I was not asked any password...

My computer is safe but still.

Anyway how can I transfer those Dash to a paper wallet (ideally write down the privatekey). The easiest way please.

Thanks!

If you really want to be safe, and frankly, why bother with making a paper wallet if you're not being super safe? (as I think backing up your wallet.dat on a jump drive is safer than making a paper wallet directly from the website)

The way you make a completely safe paper wallet is you download the website (instructions are on the link) from github. And you get Ubuntu iso, make a bootable usb stick, boot into Ubuntu, choose "try out the operating system" or however they phrase it, and then use a second usb stick, with the website on it, create your paper wallet, print it, and I also keep a copy of the picture (you can create a pdf when printing in Ubuntu) and then take a copy of the public address and save it in a txt file.  Put all this on a jump drive as well.  Then reboot, open your wallet and send the funds to that address (by coping and pasting the public address in your txt file.  This is important.  The public account number is safe to be public and you DO NOT WANT to make a mistake when copying by hand the public account number.  I'm so paranoid, I double check the paper and the text many times before sending, LOL.

Good luck!

Who wrote, coinpayments.net is supporting instantX now? Tried it and they don't! Not on the user side (still has to wait for 1 mining conf), not on the backend side (iX confirmations not shown).

Edit: found it

I got a message back from coinpayments.net:

Hi Tantestefana,

We do support InstantX which adds 5 confirms to a transaction's confirm count, so since we require 6 confirms the transaction clears on the 1st "real"

Mr. Data - System Administrator / High Level Technical Support

And when they really get it to work, they should lower confirm count to 5! What if you have to wait 10 unlucky mins for this one block? No iX experience with that...

Edit 2: For the customer, bitpay is faster than this, at the moment (zero conf).
