Comparison of XMR vs DASH for mixing.

It's a fair assessment based on doing an on-the-fly-mix and send. Dash mixing does work, it's just hit and miss and can take a few hours depending on the amount and rounds you use. Having said that, a couple of times I've mixed 200 dash over in under 2 hours. This isn't the norm though in my experience...

The length of time isn't a problem in many respects as long as you're not in a hurry to send privatized funds.

Comparison of XMR vs DASH for mixing.

DASH users (for now) expect to mix in advance of need, and send from a previously-mixed supply rather than "mix-and-send" on the fly.

The test highlighted a well-known difference, which the author chose to interpret as a clear win for XMR.

..... love at first sight story with dash?

I'm going to get flak for engaging you, but...its been bothering me as to what your issue is with "love at first sight"  that was the case with my wife and I...and 11 years later still going strong.  I certainly loved the concept of a out in the open developer, his real name, where he worked, his spouse/girlfriend and where he lived.  In the what appears to be the seedy crypto world, this stood out, enough so that I actually substantially invested in those first few weeks on merely a gut feeling.  And truth be told...I did really REALLY well.  Bonus.  A man who's willing to put his name to his project and willing to take his lumps that goes with it and doesn't hide under crypto user handles, got and still gets my vote.  I don't see your real name out there Mr. Arielbit.

I would personally get rid of the 10% thing, and change it to 50 or 60% of the total MNs being the minimum for a vote to pass...

At current, that would be 1731 or 2077 votes to pass (out of 3462 MNs total)

Edit: With this option, I would feel better about the 24 hour minimum... if a proposal has 2000+ yes votes in 24hr, that's unanimous support

Nothing would ever get passed. Look at the average participation .

https://dashninja.pl/budgets.html

I have looked at participation, and it is higher than you think...

The soda budget got 1400 yes votes in under 3 days... that would have easily hit 1700 given a few more days... not an issue

This budget got over 2000 votes:
https://dashninja.pl/budgetdetails.html?budgetid=lamassu-integration

I said average participation, not peak. Average participation is 34%, which actually isn't too shabby. Maybe we could raise the threshold from 10% to 20% without any impact.

So 72 hours and 20% minimum?

I would be very careful and do this incrementally. I'd personally try 15% for three months or so, then consider going to 20%.

I also think we should be careful about fixing stuff that's not presently broken. I agree that thought should be given to increasing the minimum proposal time and voting percentage, but I'd be careful about changing it *too* much. You never know what might have unintended effects down the road.

It's possible to break a system by trying to fix every possible eventuality that could arise. That's why laws often run upwards of 1,000-3,000 pages these days. Every term has to be defined and every possible eventuality has to be considered. Every potential loophole that's closed opens another, and the end result is a bill that's so long that nobody ever bothers to read it and consequently has no clue what they are voting on.

i dont thing there is a loophole.

we are looking for majority and what define majority, for some its 50% of total is a majority. because the abstain belong to both "yay" and "nay"  votes. so if we drop abstain to below 50% it means the MN voting is healthy and functioned as it should be.

A little bummed out.

I did what you're suppose to do and diversified my funds and sold off 2300 of dash into btc, ltc, and another coin that ended up turning my dash into ash.

I still have a large bag of dash, but still Sad

Hopefully ltc and btc will come up crazy style in 2016.

Warren Buffett > Quotes > Quotable Quote “Keep all your eggs in one basket, but watch that basket closely.”

BTC 2011 - 2013 (or earlier if you're lucky), LTC 2013, but we are now in the age of DASH Kiss don't look back dood Wink

Edit> Trolerio = past its sell-by date

Otoh , out in interest , did you finally get all yr withdraws out of Cryptsy ?

Nope, unfortunately not, nothing from them since they sent 10 DASH about three weeks ago, I still have 16.9 BTC & 2,740 DASH + 230 DASH pending withdraw that I've been trying to get out for nearly 3 months now, a total of over 39.175 BTC worth or $16,600 - I gather that Doge withdrawals have stopped a few days ago when I last checked so even that 20% haircut option is out atm.

At least I was able to get approx half of the 200 BTC value that I had on there out so there's still hope for the rest, at the end of January I will be in the States for a few months and if there's been no further progress I will be sicking all the relevant regulators and law enforcement plus my lawyers there on them most likely.

Hi There OTOH ,

thanks for the info , Myself I have only about 10 BTC on Cryptsy , don't know wether to Withdraw or not.
been doing some research and there seems to be 1 guy who filled a complaint and got his BTC fast.
I asked him how he succeeded and this is what he said :

Quote :

Not that hard to do. First of all you need to track deposit address on the blockchain that is on cryptsy website and you would see that they immediately withdraw your deposit and split it up into other other wallets. Then you need to open a withdrawal ticket on cryptsy support and right down your finding that you got on the blockchain. Do a print screen of those support tickets and file a complaint on consumerfinance.gov. You are done. Smiley

Too bad Im no technical wizzkid otherwise I would have done myself, maybe one day someone could assist me using teamviewer or something.
Maybe its helpful for you if you are tech enough to arrange as above.
If it works I would really like to hear , or if yr lawyers succeed if they could help me would be great ! :-)

I would bet & trust that Evan has alot more knowledge and experience behind him to make the right decisions.

AFAIK, Justus had nothing to do with HF.

I was the main scammer!

Whatever his motives, I think the lesson is to opt for a "trustless" structure at every possible decision point. The moral hazard issue is real otherwise, and with human beings involved it will eventually come into play - even if not for a very long time. If it can't happen (structurally) then it won't happen, and nobody needs to lie awake at night wondering whether it was safe to trust (pick a name, any name). As a bonus, trolls can't convincingly plant that particular doubt about trustless structures.

Water is a hard sell when you have the top voted beverages just a slot or two away.

I've found masternodelist rank to be inconsistent across blocks.

thanks moocowmoo
You upgraded monitoring shell what I found by googling and searching in naver.com data .
Except server down, it is always possible to run "dashd" to me.
It is good to change to your simple code.

You're welcome.
I added ranking to that python script and placed it on github.
Output sorts by rank (next paid order)

Code:
git clone https://github.com/moocowmoo/masternode_conf_check.git
cd masternode_conf_check
# nano masternode_check.py
# (edit paths to match your install)
python masternode_check.py

$ python masternode_check.py
node-003  ONLINE - in masternode list - rank:  592/3451
node-001  ONLINE - in masternode list - rank:  701/3451
node-005  ONLINE - in masternode list - rank:  823/3451
node-004  ONLINE - in masternode list - rank: 2618/3451
node-002  ONLINE - in masternode list - rank: 3057/3451

There's a whole ton of things I could add, but I've got other stuff on my plate
right now. (This was a late-night hack for a request bridgewater had.)

Enjoy!

Good job!!
A masternode in failure make an error.
By delisting it  in masternode.conf give good result.

AFAIK, Justus had nothing to do with HF.

But it sounds like you resent Dash's instamining dev being required to continually demonstrate he's not a potential Karpeles.

So are you now also on record as being part of the "I trust Evan and resent anyone who does not" club?
