With the reference node being removed, how long before DASH becomes self-aware?  =P

From one of the original masternode testnetters...been away for a little while, v.12 hit the scene, and it seems like I'm back to masternode kindergarten.

This next update is a monster!

You can say that again, yet it's working beautifully.  This next release is achieving a lot.  First, the reference node is gone, that was a big one.  But second, the proposal system and payment by blockchain is also going to be implemented.  Imagine what it takes!  And they got it right, just tweeking here and there and we're almost  done Smiley
Someone here (I don't remember who) was speculating that the reference node would be the last barrier to bring down to gain big boy's interest.

If by big boy, you mean the governments and banksters, I hope you're wrong because we need as much time to establish ourselves as we can.  Smiley  The longer they keep their eyes closed, the smoother the transition will be.
I suppose that guy was refering to big investors (despite we already have some) Smiley .

Oh, I see Smiley  I think all investors are more cautious today, as they should be.  I think the best reason to invest in DASH is simply to support it.  For me, it's all about freedom.  I want to see it happen, see it take over the banking industry, take control back from the government.  So for me at least it's all stroking my ideology, LOL.  Makes me feel like I have a little power in a powerless situation.

I so can't wait for V12 to hit mainnet... It's current Dash tech on steroids, plain and simple.

Well, it's definitely on it's way out. Rightly so, never questioned. That's the thing with development. To each his own pace and skill.

That's because it's mute.  He can't prove anything to anyone's satisfaction, so why go there?

He is always working on the code, every day except, usually, Sundays.  He has an amazing work ethic, which probably is helped by his passion.

On a Sunday? Definitely the sign of a cult leader.

I know, what I meant was that he seems to try to take Sundays off, as that is the only, ONLY day I've ever seen him absent, and usually, he pokes his head in by evening anyway, LOL

The last ones that I set up were on the 9th of July with Regato, so nope not me, my number of minions has been steady since then though I've had a lot of demand from people wanting to buy the rewards to set up their own and this from new people mostly, also I know of one guy on the dash talk forum who's just set up 25 MN with Node40 this week, he bought on the exchanges. I also have a standing order from one UK guy who is buying a lot from me daily starting from a few days ago, not sure what he does with them though.
Otoh,
Evening there  Grin
Am wondering how did that cryptocurrecy show go in Jersey at the start of July.
Weren't you going to mention Dash to a few big hitters, did they take any notice, what was the feedback ?
Evening Smiley
It was an amazing conference, very professional indeed, mostly geared towards trusts, trustees and lawyers who work with them, a lot of fun knowing more about crypto than so many smart people gathered together to discuss it, they definitely saw it as something that their clients would be asking them to either buy with their trust funds or place already bought/mined ones in to trusts with them and I was able to point them to secure ways of doing this with Bitcoin at least, I didn't get in to DASH with them as they were mostly focused on Bitcoin or just the concept of crypto in general, they were too new to it all and a bit skeptical of the whole scene to be very receptive I thought, but I made some good contacts and if I need legal work done locally or with crypto I shall certainly use the company that organized it and it's quite possible that I may also set up a trust with some of my coins as they are allocated to go to a charitable donation and other beneficiaries, so I would be certainly talking about DASH then I imagine.

Edit
They also looked in to what crypto was, like money/currency/commodity, etc, what regulation would be applicable, one of the speakers is advising Jersey on drafting proposals for this atm, https://bitcoinmagazine.com/21183/government-jersey-publishes-consultation-paper-risks-regulation-digital-currencies

Thanks for filling us in, this is very interesting, I bet you wanted to tell them about the excellent yield from owning a masternode but one step at a time eh (isn't the Isle of Man trying to put it's self as Uk's No.1 crypto island haven)
Is quite handy as Jersey are your next door neighbours and just happen to have trillions squirreled away in off shore company stashes as well, this could go well together  Grin

@ the uncouth and infamously scummy person who posted above me, all I know is that when mining started, Evan started buying the coins from the miners.  I personally don't think he was mining much (just from one or two computers in his house) Even so, that doesn't matter because the coin was announced formally at least 2 days prior (that's how I found it) and if you were on top of it, you too could have started mining.  I was ignorant of all the things that you can do to mine, such as rent vps and mine from them, and I had a hard time setting up the miner myself, as I was a total newb.  But Evan was there buying 10,000 to 20,000 coins at a time from people.  Which I don't think he would have done if he was mining them up himself, and I also think it showed that he had confidence in his coin.

Then, he also spent a lot of them on competitions, like coin name, etc...

Later he paid for legal council, marketing, and even developers.

He is always working on the code, every day except, usually, Sundays.  He has an amazing work ethic, which probably is helped by his passion.

Calling him nasty names only reflects on who you are, not Evan Duffield.
