correct me if i'm wrong but it looks like BTC version 0.10 is also getting integrated into Dash version 0.12.0 (i guess thats what Vertoe pointed towards with his link, i didnt notice it that quickly) : https://github.com/dashpay/dash/commits/v0.12.0.x
Something to look forward to on Testnet at some point .. hopefully soon  Grin

edit : specially looking forward to the syncing headers first that bitcoin got implemented with version 0.10, should make syncing really fast for Dash

From bitcoin version 0.10 release changes : https://bitcoin.org/en/release/v0.10.0

Quote
Faster synchronization

Bitcoin Core now uses ‘headers-first synchronization’. This means that we first ask peers for block headers (a total of 27 megabytes, as of December 2014) and validate those. In a second stage, when the headers have been discovered, we download the blocks. However, as we already know about the whole chain in advance, the blocks can be downloaded in parallel from all available peers.

I don't think in the history of this coin, I've been so happy to see a post from anyone this much. Please let it be a sign of reconciliation? You are missed.

Nope, this isn't/wasn't a Litecoin-feature.

Back in my Litecoin-days I wrote an external shell-script which first made a backup of wallet.dat and then started the wallet itself.
This isn't exactly end-user-friendly, so I decided Dash needs something integrated into the wallet itself.

Yeah, I miss-read your post. Nice one  Wink

This is such a mass market user friendly feature. Props.

i dont think there is any coin out there that has this ... this is very impressive just from a security point alone.

Actually, crowning actually brought this over from LTC. I wonder why it wasn't already here since we were originally an LTC fork.

i doubt Litecoin ever had an automatic wallet backup system, i just read it as a period when crowning needed to do a lot of intensive backups
which inspired the idea of this automatic wallet backup now ... but i could be wrong, i have been out of touch with Litecoin.

One of the main reasons The Foundation's members were pushing for re-branding were "certain exchanges" and "some retailers" that were adamant "We will never accept this coin as long as it is called Darkcoin."

Well, R.I.P. Darkcoin, so I wonder, what is the progress with these "exchanges" and "retailers," are they going to accept Dash now or was that just a ruse? Does anyone know about any REAL progress with some of the REAL businesses that were not going to accept Darkcoin but might Dash? Are they going to do it or not?

I am curious...

I am a specialty coffee shop owner. I'll accept dash after dash have an official mobile wallet.
No way for darkcoin, I can not explain it to my customers.

That's great ! Im a big fan of coffee Smiley

My coffee shop is in istanbul. Come and have a great coffee.

So do you accept dash? as when i visit Istanbul, would love to have coffee for dash!

Now its in a construction phase. It'll open first week of May. I will accept dash.

I am.   But that spike was just due to the BTC drop...   no one pumping.

Despite the obvious, why is that? I mean, you're participating in our thread, so you're obviously well educated on each coin's added value. Not dissing on LTC, but other than the new website there seems no new development. All major ASIC companies are in dire straits. Do you still have faith for it in the future?

I have faith in a few coins and LTC is one of them.   Probably not the place to go in depth but there is a reason it is #2 (for now).     I personally feel that BTC/LTC are pushing the merchant adoption right now and DASH is pushing the innovation side.  Both are just different phases and I have faith in the three of them.

Can't wait until after April 15th.  If this drop in cryptos is caused by tax day, then hopefully things will start to look up again later this month?? LOL

Wow, do I read that correctly?  On Bitfinex, someone dumped 20,000 bitcoins, over 4 million dollars worth?  I'm flabbergasted!  I mean, on the 4 hour chart, it might be one person, might be a lot, but it's surely a huge amount!

appearently it triggered some longs (or a lot of longs) getting margin called .. thus excellerating the dump
