I remember reading some of bitcoinexpress's post's about the vulnerabilities of ring signatures and Monero, and as soon as he'd pointed out the weaknesses, they all called him a troll and jumped on him like a pack of hyenas.
bitcoinexpress seemed like one of the few people who actually understood the coding and what was going on (I vaguely remember him pointing out something about darkcoin's security sometime way back?)

To be fair, the lead dev said it was 100% speculative alpha grade. And the other dev said it was a bit of a broken piggy bank.
