Regarding FUD and Troll (attacks incoming)
same as every second DRK day i imagine.
I talked to some factories in china
regarding inventing and mass producing a Troll Spray
we are now finally in production !
and sure it is free and Open Source !!
Just hold it very close into the Trolls/FUDsters face !
(the closer the better)

Hey, would you mind giving an explanation for dummies as to what DividendRippler is?
Glad to, given I'm one of the people running it
DR is very simply a gateway between a few chain based currencies (BTC, LTC, NMC, TRC and now DRK) and both Ripple and Stellar. Basically you can deposit any of the chain based currencies and have an IOU issued to you on either Ripple or Stellar, where you can send to others or use the ledger trading facilities.
When you hold DR IOUs you can also redeem them, thus receiving the chain based currency.
The name is a bit confusing as the original business model for DR was quite different, to be able to pay dividends using ripple with chain currencies (kind of stock profit distribution on steroids) but that never picked up, and the main business was just using it as a gateway, which is the only thing it is now.

Does anyone know, if possible to take the mobile wallet priv key and import it to windows wallet? I downloaded it thru the mobile wallet, but it is like much longer than normal privkey.

No one's interested in trading DRK on ripple / stellar using DividendRippler? That's disappointing...
I did place a few bids for buying DRK with BTC, but while they where close to market then DRK has been going up. I would really like to buy some DRK there if anyone's game, and it helps keeping DR development up and running too

Hey guys! I had to make a new account from years back because apparently my email is lost along with my password. But anyways, I was out of the alt-coin game for over a year and I stumbled upon Darkcoin and researched it a lot. If any alt coin has a chance in this environment it is Darkcoin. I look forward to seeing where we go from here!

I would not camp in front of Otoh's wall if he let me buy some DRK for small amount of BTC that I have left so don't be mad on us wanting to get to first MN.
Also I am not mad at Otoh for not leting me do so.
Hope soon I will get my money back so I might do something similar ( sry RUX I will NEVER take loan to buy coins )
+1 Yup--Otoh, do what you think best, but it sure does generate mixed feelings in those of us struggling to get our 1st MN. Of course, I fully anticipate the day that others will look in awe at those who have even one. Also I am not mad at Otoh for not leting me do so.

I'm gonna go out on a limb say - People like that, the above, need to figure out how to integrate DRK
DRK need not integrate the above.......................................
These guys are building meshnets on banana pi's (think raspberry pi). Just think if we had Masternodes for 1000drk and (what at some point will no doubt be portable) Meshnodes for 100drk that wirelessly connect everyone to the global money supply (Darkcoin and its masternodes) via a decentralized internet that bypasses ISPs. Then think of the financial infrastructure that could be built upon that portable, wireless, decentralized network...
If that doesn't give you a cryptoboner, you have health problems.

I've always wanted to build a system like that but it will take millions of units
for a device to "talk" to another device say - 2000 miles away - a link needs to be made with each device thereafter to finally connect to the 2000 mile device

I don't know much about the system but would it not come to realisation faster if this was built on top of the android os? Pretty much every household has one and android phones have quad core cpu's and 2gigs or more of ram these days with good wifi and 4g capabilities.
I think if they could build this system on top of android it would take off extremely rapidly especially in countries like China.

The 4G would have to be used because wifi just won't get the distances needed
I assume that, if the Adroid device was rooted, all is well (not sure)
But a larger battery would be needed for obvious reasons

I'll be keeping a close eye in this... Imagine a world in which the government controls all your internet traffic through ISPs (I know it's already here in some places)... People would look for a way to get their information freedom back and if getting it back was as simple as installing an app, everybody would do it. People would even purchase a phone simply dedicated to service the meshnet, so they can use their phones as usual. The dedicated phone will be plugged into the mains and would act as a wifi hotspot for other devices. Phone sales would go up but ISP users would plummet and ISPs go out of business. With VISP ISPs are not longer needed. The governments turn to the mobile operators to integrate the control features. But the mobile operators saw what happened to the ISPs and so fight the government.
In the end the more the restrict us the greater we will adapt to regain our freedom.
