This is what happens in cryptoworld https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBdhAywbgrI
Help me here guys, I am so pesimistic about crypto currencies. As much as I would want ot believe crypto will succeed, everyday i think more that it never be adopted.  Volatility is a killer, my friends just laugh about it... How can the volatility be stopped?  Can masternodes stop it? Orcouple of whales are needed to prevent wild fluctuation of the price?

Darkcoin is in the area of 0.006 BTC (+-0.001) for more than 6 month now.

Darkcoin "Architecturally Flawed"...

I'm involved in a discussion over on another thread where a Monero guy is possiting that Darkcoin is "Architecturally Flawed" due to the masternode architecture.

I've already posted quite a long response and he has come back with a whole load of cryptographic waffle which I haven't got time right now to respond to.

Could someone who knows what they're talking about have a look at this......

Be polite.

If the statement of gaining access to VPS by the NSI, FBI etc is true, the need for a masternode running at random locations becomes more relevant. Like running it at home on a little server or even on for example a Raspberry PI so you can plug it anywhere. I think the port 9999 needs to be UPNP (dummyproof), or like how Teamviewer does it; straight trough the router (dunno how that works though).

Anyone care to address the implications of this question? If registration of Masternodes is required, the penalties for not doing so could be significant.

The real question in my mind in the Monero vs Darkcoin debate is:

Are Darkcoin masternodes Money Transmitters under FinCEN regulations? This is significant given that a significant number of Darkcoin masternodes are under US jurisdiction.

This is far from clear from reading the FinCEN rulings http://www.fincen.gov/news_room/rp/rulings/pdf/FIN-2014-R001.pdf and http://www.fincen.gov/news_room/rp/rulings/pdf/FIN-2014-R012.pdf. The situation for Monero is on the other hand clear given the existing rulings involving Bitcoin above, since there is no masternode equivalent in Monero that a regulator can regulate.

It's a waste of time to argue with/against other coin supporters.

I stopped that, well, about ages ago and use my time to do something useful.

ok, I'm doing it.... https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10297191

You're doing a very good job Smiley

darkcoin is far from a finished product and development continues. most of the issues fluffy brings up are known and in fact already have a solution waiting to be implemented. the new masternode blinding thing evan is working on along with ip obfuscation takes care of most of the issues he drones on about.
masternodes are located all over the world and out of the nsa or any single-entities jurisdiction so the whole warrant snooping thing is ridiculous. don't you need like 90% of the mn to see 1% of the transactions, something like that.

the cryptobloat vs darkcoin debate is over and darkcoin won. darkcoin won before xmr even had a working wallet, if you thought their bloating was bad before just wait till people start to use it as intended. they have a huge inflation problem and are not future proofed with their inferior on chain mixing as pointed out by AnonyMint. their incompatibility issues have already seen them snubbed over drk when it comes to adoption and their cryptography is unproven and sure to have more (serious) bugs found in the future according to peter todd.

fluffypony can ramble on until he is blue in the face but the market has spoken and the debate is all but settled, instantX will be the final nail in the coffin.

Darkcoin has many potential advantages with its master-node network.

Please consider volunteering we need representatives in as many countries as possible.

Yeah. I am considering about how to contribute to Darkcoin.

Thank you!

Can you really blame them? Both CA and NY state came out and said Coinbase's exchange isn't licensed there. That totally contradicts their big announcement.

Wow Seriously?!! You have a source for that Mr. Oblox?

http://www.coindesk.com/nydfs-coinbase-licensed-new-york/
http://www.coindesk.com/california-regulator-coinbase-exchange-regulated-licensed/

Talk about dropping the ball.

Well, that just looks to me like Coinbase believes they've done everything they should to be legal, and New York and California have their heads up their asses as they don't even have their regulations figured out.

To me, and I don't care either way, it looks like Coinbase is committed to doing the right thing, and the states are committed to covering their ass and not committing to anything.

I can't see why this would look bad for Coinbase, only looks bad for the states, IMHO.

It's Bitcoin... articles spun it that they were fully licensed and approved by those states and those states came out and said otherwise. It was premature, nothing more, nothing less.
