Hi,

As a MN owner I read this topic a zillion times a day for updates. I might just post this even once or twice to let you guys know im here as well  Wink

Flare does my Mn for me and am happy with his work.

Point is, i have a Raspberry Pi model B (512ram) hanging around in the corner catching dust atm after a failed attempt to get a media player in the bedroom (worked but not used hehe).

Is it possible to get a distro on the PI, update with the firewall and all whats needed and run the MN myself? Then just hook it up my router and open port 9999 to it  Smiley

My thanks goes to the dev team for all its excellent work in the past and in the future!

EDIT: My activity is now: 2!  Woot Wink

I remember quite some time ago someone asked a similar question. I think that Raspbian cannot cope with the dependancies needed for the daemon to run. But things change, maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in?

This is something that I have investigated quite a lot but from a Bitcoin perspective.  I am using 1 raspberry pi running minepeon to solo mine BTC and wanted to use my spare pi to just run bitcoind (with plenty of storage).  I've managed to get bitcoind to compile fine on ARM but I need to reboot it daily due to memory issues and hangs.

Along the way I did manage to get Bitcoin QT to run in raspbian but it was virtually unusable.  If I find some free time (admittedly unlikely) I'll see if I can get darkcoin QT to compile and run.  I expect that it will be as bad if not worse to run than bitcoin on the Pi though.

You're better off with the daemon over the extra GUI memory usage. I see that it had memory issues and hangs previously but I've got to imagine Darkcoin's QT would be many times worse.

i belive it is an update as we are pushing people to update
so I think all none "updated nodes" (mine are all 13 and yellow)
will show yellow at the version / only 14 (in the moment) will show green versions !?

does that makes sense ?

Sure, could be the case, I really wouldn't know. It does take a little while for the website to reflect changes (like version update or new MN to populate), but in this case, I have no clue.

Just saying, all mine are yellow too... so clearly the pattern shows its a "bug" from updating. I'm sure it'll be quickly resolved.

Well you see, not one single 11.0.3 node on the Masternode Ninja reports as being fully active - they're all yellow. Meanwhile, all the 11.0.4's are green (100% active). So that would seem to suggest that the update *is* required (to me at least, if you want a green light on Ninja) Smiley.

However, the 'formal' downloads page has the latest update as 11.0.3: https://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/

Whereas this informal post has it as 11.0.4: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/v0-11-0-darkcoin-core-release.3601/page-34#post-38830

It's a bit confusing.

drk.mn is a fabulous monitoring tool with great graphical interface. Elberethzone maintains it and every time there is an update, he has to go in a change "everything" to translate DRK's evolution with each iteration. Naturally, his is not easy, and does have its quirks, its not as simple as getting the new version and magic happens everything works fine. To be absolutely sure, you have the daemon and query for :1 and all is fine.

The yellow is given when >=50% of nodes see that nodes as :0.  Probably an induced bug from updating to v.14. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.

What about this ?

What about it? Nobody said it's required.. :O I'm just an update lunatic.. Tongue

i dont understand why nobody is linking QT wallet on main...MAIN website

guys please dont play with simple things as this

edit: WTF im i in twilight zone? nobody is posting, answering, uploading... Cheesy

Windows .exe: https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin-binaries/raw/master/darkcoin-0.11.0.14-win.zip

Linux: https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin-binaries/raw/master/darkcoin-0.11.0.14-linux.tar.gz

Probably because it isn't the most pressing thing to do being that the update isn't mandatory. Should it be on the website, sure, but is there a rush, no.

Website maintainers are having hard times because evan keeps deleting the old binaries (even though they are still working).

Currently the links for .13 are pointing nowhere.

Following on from LucD88's query about why his wallet balance isn't the same as his MN's address listing on the block explorer, I'd really like to read a guide on how addresses work, the specifics of coin control and the concepts around change (and why getting lots of dust mining payments makes your wallet.dat bloated and what you should do about it).

I know this is in reality bitcoin 101 stuff, but I feel like I'm missing key parts of how that all works. If anyone knows of a good easy-to-read document explaining this stuff, please post a link. I'm sure there are many others that need some education in this are too.

Everything is fine and showing what should be shown. The way he sent his coins ended up with change back (new change address). You can see that they aren't spent in the block explorer. Anyway, some reading:

Excellent articles, thanks Oblox; just what I was looking for.

Heads up p2pool owners.

It seems dstorm is not around anymore. Here is the new official minimally maintained p2pool repository for darkcoin:

 - https://github.com/vertoe/darkcoin_subsidy

I updated the python modules because they really needed some clean ups and bug fixes.

Questions and discussions via PM or on DCT: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/p2pool-repository-and-python-modules.3380/

Yes, everything is fine. It's a change address. Change addresses do not show up under normal addresses and are only found via coin control. If you are curious to see, enable coin control, go to the send tab and go into inputs. You should see that exact change amount designated as a change address.

This is your tx http://explorer.darkcoin.fr/tx/27c4183a9c30c3afd26dcb0bcc30b4cfdc640eff65d6231a0e0c21ab1899f2c8#o1 when you moved 69 DRK of MN payments to another address. However "Total in: 69.24965" and "Fee: 0.0007" so you got 0.24895 as change. Go to Preferences -> Wallet -> tick "Enable coin control features". Now go to Send tab and click "Inputs..." (optional - click "List mode") - there should be your MN (1000 DRK), 3 new payments (2.45609, 1.7507, 1.75) and change (0.24895). Try selecting few (let's say 2.45609 and 1.7507) and click ok. You should see a lot of info on Send tab now. Enter some amount less then Amount shown in Coin control section (let's say 1 DRK) and you'll see Change calculated there. Change addresses are generated automatically each time you send coins (if change is >0) to return leftover back to you wallet. You can override it however by using "Custom change address" field.

Thanks for the time and explanation guys! Smiley Sure going to read up more about it.
