Also I have a question. If it is that easy to just paste the privkey, if anyone puts random numbers and try to import keys, what is preventing this from being done? Does it going to ask my my passphrase when I am trying to spend this funds?

Mathematics. Compared to the number of private keys that can exist, winning the lottery looks like a sure thing. It is an absurdly large number and even if all computers in the world worked nonstop with the sole purpose of looking through those keys for money, it would take an ungodly number of years (millions/billions/longer)

I believe that if you import a private key into a wallet, there is no passphrase associated with it.  In other words, keeping a copy of your private key can help ensure that if you forgot your passphrase, you'll still be able to get at your funds through the key.

For someone to get your key, though, they will need either your wallet.dat file AND your passphrase, or your key.

You can get your key via a fresh, temporary install (run it off a usb drive) of Linux, and either put it on paper or another usb drive.  then keep it somewhere safe.  Then have an extremely safe password.  Only keep a smaller wallet for spending (when DRK becomes a coin you routinely spend) and the larger wallet with more funds, keep off line.

There is no way around it, we all have to be responsible for our wallets, just like we have to be responsible for our cash.  Unfortunately, there is no insurance program (yet) like you get at a bank, that covers your deposit when the bank is breached.  But on the other hand, you don't have to pay for those things either.  Someday, someone might insure people's wallets as a service, but it'll be an opt-in rather than mandatory Smiley

What a nice industrial, sedate thread this is.

Specially after one has been dragged through a hedge backwards, turned upside down and had one's pockets emptied inside out in the Bitpay IPO followed by blood spattered carnage and bodies lying around everywhere on the Bitbay thread.

I was following your commentary on the BitBay thread, that was "MintPal/Moolah - the 12" extended remix"...

Oh dear!  I fear I'd get too emotionally drained seeing so many people hurt.  This thread gets enough poo poo heads in it as it is, I'm not stepping out to see the real ugliness in full 3dmax.  Nope, I'll stay here and go out to vote on coins101's polls only, LOL.

I just felt so sorry for all those people who got conned, then the scumbag bottom feeders are still posting on the thread rubbing it in everyone's faces that they stole over 1000 BTC, they were in with the owner of bter exchange as well.

Every time I read this crap I retract further into the Darkness.

So, have you all watched the latest Bitcoin Rush episode?  We have TaoofSatoshi in the open minute.  He did a great job giving an overview of what Darkcoin has done this past year.  Actually, it highlights the utility side of Darkcoin, not all the technical advancements. Really great job, Tao!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=UUmKY_UH5IUvNkW0Pp7MWqcw&v=Vh9_anEJ85U&feature=player_detailpage#t=233

Thank you, I just spoke from the heart, and thank you for your help with the script!

Shucks, I just edited out the pictures from Lebubar so that the link would be seen better.  Perhaps you should do the same, LOL.

Not that I find them so bad, Lebubar, but I came to post about Tao's video blurb Wink  Sorry!

Oh, just thought of something, Lebubar:

If you want to make a t-shirt design that's more interesting than the plain D, you could try putting characters hanging on it, or doing things, such as the minions that are being used for a lot of stuff.  Or make up your own characters?  That might be too much for you, but it's a thought Smiley

Some test. Mmmmm I'm not convinced, try to make something for t-shirt....

The thing that's not working is that the D is a very mod - minimalist script, and it just doesn't fit with squirrely patterns.  Needs angular if any patterns at all Smiley

Please send us business leads

Hey Guys, we are working hard to gain more adoption for Darkcoin and we can always use some help. What we need at this moment is for the community to provide us with leads, if you have a contact or relationship at an exchange, a crypto related business, payment processor, gaming site, etc. Please make an introduction or send the info to me, fernando or tungfa and we will make sure to approach them officially. You can PM us at darkcointalk or here or just send an email. We have already received some great leads, as an example the Cex.io integration was thanks to an introduction by stonehedge.

There are some great adoption news coming soon, I think everybody will be pleased. In the meantime the more leads we get the better. Thanks.

I have not seen BigCanada in a while (might be my fault for not being here enough)  But I would like to know how his winery is doing with accepting Darkcoin, and if we can get him to tell us about it.  It could be done on a video and we could get him more exposure for his wine and for Darkcoin's utility as well.  Maybe I better write him.....

I sent him thanks, but I don't understand what reused R values are and how they exposed the private keys?  Can this happen with any coin?  Is Darkcoin at risk?

If you understand this stuff, can you educate us a bit?  Thanks coins101, I know I can't be the only one who doesn't follow Wink

AWESOME, thanks for joining vertoe!  I didn't know if you were a girl or just had a pretty girl's face as an avatar!  If that's you, wow, you may have to be our official spokeswoman!  Can't let such beauty go unused!  LOL.  Seriously, though, you're beautiful anyway, whatever your looks Wink

Ah, gender obfuscation, the best anonymity possible, LOL  Still, I'd like to know I'm not the only girl around (OK, I'm too old for girl, but still, you know what I mean, LOL)
