It must all be about donations. You do some work and if somebody want he can donate you some coins. I think this is the right way. Good job with the cartoon Wink

Yes, same as it ever was. That's basically what I have done during the last months, right?

But that can't work with a consistent regular production.

Listen everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but I still hope that some guys here have the appreciation and foresight to get the ball rolling.
I don't expect everyone to agree with my proposal.  Cool

If DRK had a counterparty component, we would have the grounding for anonymous DRK contracts - the price of each DRK would go to $30 in about 2 weeks.

Counterparty is open source and as far as I can tell kinda justa an extension of the Bitcoin API. I am thus wondering how hard a port would really be...?

Hell we could use a Counterparty wotsit like SWARM to manage the fundraiser...  Grin
I dont really get what Counterparty is all about... well, I do in basic terms, but not entirely. Like I get one can create a layer over the BTC blockchain, much like colored coins... but I dont get all the hype or the real value to it. Even though its been pitched a half dozen times per show.

As far as I can tell, Counterparty is a decentralised gambling "financial asset" exchange/platform that stores records of users bets "investments" on the BTC blockchain.

In order to generate the XCP tokens used, BTC was burned.

And beyond that it's voodoo to me too...  Cheesy

So I was thinking about starting a cartoon to celebrate evan's achievements:

A proposal:
Is the community/foundation willing to pay me a monthly amount of DRK (I don't know, 150 DRK or something) so I can allocate some time every day and create a daily cartoon?
I could create hilarious confrontations between darkcoin and other coins, etc...  Grin
Let me know your thoughts.

great cartoon
but man
150 DRK a month from the foundation !!!
hahaaa sorry I have to laught !
remember everybody is working for free here !
we love cartoons but do you really think they will put you on a monthly salary to keep the spirit up !?
think about it ....>>>

150 DRK / 30 days of atleast 2 hours = 2.5 DRK per hour.
I don't know in which country you live, but in my place that's basically considered "slave labor".

Listen, I am not forcing anybody, and I specifically said: it's a proposal to the community or foundation.
I never received any DRK from the foundation, but I have come to know the darkcoin community as very generous over the last months.

Untrue. Speak for yourself.
Some people here already offer services for DRK. I am no different.

Maybe there are other priorities than to pay an official cartoonist. Don't get me wrong your work is awesome, but I prefer for example to put some money in the animated video project or a dev fund.

I got my last payment 3 hours ago, seems to be normal.

Almost 1200 masternodes now, it will take on average more than 2 days to get one payment.

ahhhh
you propably right !
so before the next % rise comes it will be like that as it does not pay out 0.7 DRK but wait 2 days and then sends 1.4 DRK correct !

It's on average going to be the masternode count divided by 576 is how many days for a payment. With the difficulty, payments have been 1.25, so no longer .70 DRK/MN.

People need to quit bitching about masternode payments, the system as is works right now and due to the sheer number of new masternodes, it's going to take longer round robin style to evenly pay everyone.

I was a huge fan of Lets Talk Bitcoin ... still am, dont miss a show... but I'm getting kind of fed up with all the Counterparty promotion. for one, iI dont really get what Counterparty is all about... well, I do in basic terms, but not entirely. Like I get one can create a layer over the BTC blockchain, much like colored coins... but I dont get all the hype or the real value to it. Even though its been pitched a half dozen times per show.

And I sincerely dont get how on earth DRK has never been featured there, or Evan interviewed. I hate it when this stuff happens, when it becomes a competition so they neglect the elephant in the room. In this case, the DRK elephant.

Yeah.. Cool cartoon and idea, but if you're holding DRK and you think the cartoons will help that much, then it's in your best interest to just do them anyway. I'm sure people will kick some DRK your way in donations if they're good, but expecting a salary from people that mostly work for free is a stretch.

Yes, I would absolutely do that if I owned a larger amount of DRK.

Also, consistent work (daily output) requires a salary, that's just the way of the world.

Did you see Vitalik's remarks about "metacoins" ?

(Don't read if you're bagholding counterparty right now - or at least wait till you've finished enjoying your Champaign).

Proud XCP bagholder here (I'm an original burner, in fact). The Counterparty developers have an amazing track record, and it's clear their platform is just getting warmed up. The Ethereum devs, well, it's too soon to tell but Q1 2015 is proving to be a long time to wait in crypto land.  First mover advantage is the rule (although by that rule, Mastercoin should have done better).
XCP may be the only truly deflationary currency out there, so I think it would be good to pick up a few coins just in case it takes off. Smiley

What are metacoins?

I think they're disks of solid gold about the size of olympic weight plates with the BTC logo stamped on them, that you bought with the 5000BTC from your IPO.
