I'll be speaking at the Crypto Money Virtual expo, Dec 5-6! It's like crypto meets the sims, should be pretty cool. My talk is going to be entitled "Darkcoin, creating the perfect eCash" and will cover the masternode network, passive mixing and InstantX. It should be a great intro into Darkcoin for future use.

Seeing as it's a virtual expo, I can actually say I'll be there as well!  Yaay!

I tell you what, shit be going on with other crypto coins and devs at the moment.  I don't often peek out of this thread but its looking pretty ugly out there.

Yah, and BitcoinDark is up over 40%?  Seriously?  I read that thing someone posted last night, and basically their "warp" or whatever it was, was using new addresses!  Geepers people are SO STUPID!  They're not coming here, where we have something REAL happening, something AMAZING and WORKING, no, they seek out more crap!

or it's a pump, I have no idea but it makes me sick!

yeah the problem with doing it all at once is the transaction is too large and it bombs out...  one at a time I have to send it watch the wallet go unresponsive wait a few minutes...  kill the process reopen the wallet...  rinse and repeat...  this is kind of a big deal for us little p2pool guys, I've only been mining since June 1st.

After sending it all at once, do you just leave the wallet be? If so, how long have you left it? Literally send and don't move or click or anything.

If it never goes forward, then yes, managing the inputs through coin control is your best bet.

Someone snatched a couple of cheap masternodes  Grin

Every now and again the real players show their intention...  Buy and hold I say, otherwise you just end up being whale food...

We all know they are going to have some fun with Instant(Tx), it's going to be tempting to sell now and buy back cheaper, some always will, then they'll get caught with their pants down, come here to whine about it and we'll all be putting Terzo573 on ignore...

Not to spread FUD or anything...  but this wallet software is garbage when dealing with 1035 small (0.02 - 0.12 range) inputs... can't send more than about 20 drk without the transaction size being too large.  And to top it off my wallet is flipping out going unresponsive to the point I can't click on anything and get it to change screens.  Time to take a breather after instantx and fix the small stuff before it blows up imho.

How big is your wallet.dat file?

14.7 MB (14,712,832 bytes)...  is this too big?

Very much so. It has already been said to use coincontrol to send the coins to a new address. Just keep clicking inputs until you get fee, then deselect the latest to drop below the threshold and send. It's a pain in the ass, but it's not terrible.

Thanks Oblox for the detail on the instructions...  I'll give this a shot and try to clean it up.

That being said...  if this is a known issue, I hope someone is thinking of an elegant solution for the dumb unwashed masses out here.
My first wallet had 1821 inputs Smiley  it was horror to do anything there with RC4 & RC5 wallet Wink
Just create new wallet with 1000 keypool and than send there as one input all your coins.... wruum, works very fast!

Yeah, the easiest is just select everything and send to the new onyx-generated wallet. You'll pay fees most likely due to tx size, but sometimes it's just worth doing to save the time. If you don't want to eat the fees to send hundreds/thousands of inputs, then going to coin control, selecting list, and selecting inputs until you see a tx fee is the best way. Can be tedious. All depends on how much value you place on what fee is being assessed.

Not sure there will be a fix. Anytime you get micropayments, as is the case from P2Pools, you're going to end up with a bloated wallet if the inputs continue to build over months. Perhaps one could implement a feature to consolidate any inputs under x value and send to a fresh address. *shrug*

You'll need to consolidate those coins by sending them to yourself.
Once that's done you'll need to make a wallet.dat file and send your coins to that new wallet file.

That's way to big.

You'll still want to rename your old wallet.dat file to walletOLD.dat and save it for future reference.

yeah trying to clean up the wallet now...  gone unresponsive on me so trying to wait it out for a while before I cross my fingers and kill the process... tail -f on the debug.log shows it is still doing its thing in the background.  Sucks I have to change my miner address from the looks of it.

Now, On a more serious note...  I've had my wallet denominating for the last 7 or 8 hours and it is not mixing my plethora of p2pool payouts from mining even though they are in the same address...  Why isn't the wallet smart enough to combine the little inputs and mix them properly?
I bet anything under 1 DRK is ignored (just a guess). Also, it may have something to do with the transaction size for combining all those tiny inputs. I would kick start the process in coin control by selecting some of the inputs (not too many, to avoid miners' fees), and send those to a fresh address on the same wallet.   Make sure you are using wallet version 60001 (RC5 and Onyx compatible)!

Edit: That's a fat wallet, there. I would start a new wallet and send the coins from old to new. Break up the transactions so you don't pay miners' fees.

Why is it that every time somebody opens a thread about the accusations towards XC and Prometheus etc(which seem very vague at the moment) they are immediately deleted?  I've never seen this forum react to potential FUD in such an organised way before....

While it all makes for popcorn reading we should stay out of all that... Dark is the calm port in the storm.

One of the very few times I ventured away from The Darkness, I landed right in the heat of the Uro thread, unmoderated, everyone had fired up their jets for the weekend and were letting rip.

There were experts brought in from far and wide to analyse images, people were spending 24/7 on the phones trying to validate addresses and company contact information.

It was pure and utter bedlam... No rock was left unturned, every gimp and retard on the planet posted that weekend and I simply could not strop reading for 3 days.

Do I need a separate VPS for every masternode I run or can I just get a really beefy one with multiple ip addresses? If this is possible, is there a guide for this somewhere?

As long as you have unique ip addresses there is no problem.  The easiest way I can think of is making a user account for each MN.  However, there may be a better way.  I know there was at least one guide on Darkcoin Talk to do this.

Where the heck is Chaeplin?  And why the heck do I worry about people when they step away for a few days, LOL.  Not like I don't do that!  But worry I do!

I recently hired a server that had fail-over IP's, server was cheap and I thought about a cunning plan with the darkcoin daemon and those fail-over IP's...

But then I got distracted...

Move the zillions of inputs to another input (or even a completely different wallet) via coincontrol and start again.

P2Ppool payments, especially when there are tenths of thousands of them, are not easy to handle for a wallet.

This is currency independent.

That's what i'm trying to do...  wallet is currently unresponsive though.
