With an ideal block time of 2.5 minutes, that's 576 blocks/day. At a difficulty resulting in a reward from 5-8 DRK/block, that's 86,400-138,240 new DRK/month.
Thats a lot , didn't knw that much , well, thats arnd 30 DRK per MN per Month then in case of 3000 MN , still believe trading would be better.

My opinion is that, as Instant payments need a lot more MN for safety sake , price is pushed back deliberately in order to create more MN.
If DRK rate halves ( from 0.008 to 0.004 ) then it will become easier to increase amount of MN.
Sounds reasonable , only thing I am worried about is how price will increase again if al DRK Holders are keeping them in MN.

if, in the end, there would be 3000 MN , they will all have to divide these few DRK mined among each other.
That would mean that for each MN the reward will be very low , believe I can make more by trading.
If I was ever to have 1000 DRK I would NOT create a MN , it would indeed be terrifying to see DRK drop without being able to trade.
Trading is what Alts make interesting , in that point of view DRK is by farrrrr the BEST alt coin there is at the moment because the technology behind it is much better then any other.
At this moment many people don't know about this thought and the only thing that makes it worldwide known is a big blast of DRK prices.
Personally I also started to compare DRK with others only when it reached around 0.02 , at that time DRK had anonymity but not more then that and price was killled again by the Rc3 hard fork.
but DRK's being held in MN cannot create this price blast.
I understand Evan wants top security for his instant payment but there has to be a balance in this respect, otherwise I believe that it starts to feel like small family buying a bag of candy , share 80 percent of the candy , then invite other friends and tell them they have candy but it has to be devided between them also ( although they have 80 percent already.

In the absence of Mintpal, DRK's priority should be getting onto BTCe. Thats the only exchange thats remotely going to give it the profile it had before Mintgox took effect. (In fact it'll have an even higher profile if it achieves that).

I think you've all got the wrong end of the stick.
People have become obsessed with the DRK/BTC ratio when in fact it's Bitcoin value against the dollar that's going to make or break this entire industry. What's the point of DRK going to 4 times its DRK/BTC ratio if Bitcoin's USD marketcap collapses to a quarter ?
We are not independent of Bitcoin. Dark IS Bitcoin - just another flavour of it and without BTC, we ain't goin nowhere.
At the start of this year I'd have had a much more open mind about this. It wasn't at all clear if Bitcoin was going to survive the barrage of competition it was starting to face from Alts. Litecoin was expected by many to go to a quarter to a third of Bitcoin's price (parity in marketcap terms). Alt coins (including DRK) were seen as competing currencies, not complimentary.
As it happened, things turned out a whole lot differently and even I was amazed.
Despite all kinds of advanced tech and every type of alternative thought out monetary policy being thrown at it, no coin even made a dent in Bitcoin's marketcap. I suspect we've now reached game over stage in terms of looking for a competitor. Bitcoin is too far down the line in terms of infrastructure, retail adoption, legislative support financial services support and other "network effect" aspects.
We need to now see ourselves as complimentary rather then competitive and ride the Bitcoin wave. Bitcoin's marketcap is our marketcap - according to the DRK / BTC ratio. Right now 0.005 may not seem much, but if Bitcoin hits even $10.000 (which it must do to satisfy projected liquidity requirements if it's going anywhere other than history) then a 0.005 BTC ratio for a 5 million coin supply corresponds to a dollar cap of a cool half a billion. ($500,000,000).
Put another way, a single masternode holding would be worth around $55,000. In that case, a DRK / BTC ratio change of a mere 0.0001 (say from 0.005 to 0.0051) would amount to a thousand dollar gain.
We've got to stop naval gazing and see the big picture: either Bitcoin's going somewhere or it isn't. If you decide it isn't then fair enough - but don't think any other alt is either. If you decide that it is then hang onto your DRK for dear life cos the ride's going to get wild once we hit the next big wave.

- As soon as there is a pump, people automatically think it will dump after, whatever the reason of the pump.
- People blindly follows twitter to make choices. Twitter hypes only new (shit)coins.
- There are more and more bots and every bot I know, have, or backtest have sold at theses prices, ans still are not planning to buy.
There is very little to do against these 4 points. So expect again 0,0055 soon. I am not saying it is "fair" price. I am a big DRK supporter since first days (I feel obliged to repeat it everytime I am saying something bad about prices), but market is always right, however strange it sounds.
