First things first,
we need to choose between version one and version two. As far as I can see from here & darkcointalk (including ones made after this post that I'm adding in) there are:
11 votes for v1: AjM, TsuyokuNaritai, CODERsp, georgem, BrainShutdown, g4q34g4qg47ww, r-ando, Piggo, twinflame, tedtheodorelogan, coins101
10 votes for v2: stonehedge, TaoOfSaatoshi, spatula, HinnomTX, splawik21, KryptoFoo, thelonecrouton, richibichi, Raptor_73, elgringo
...but tungfa seemed to be counting up 2 votes for v2 that I couldn't find, have I missed anyone? Maybe one was him and one was a PM? That would make it 11v12 for v2.
Here are arguments made for each version. Bear in mind though that this press release is the one for the techy & crypto press rather than the mainstream press.
Arguments for v1/against v2:Just a heads up concerning the #2 version proposed…. Their are over 120 words that don't even talk about Darkcoin and that start off the article after the first line about Darkcoin, I stopped counting….
I only gave suggested edits the first version because those with technical knowledge will know what is going on.
The audience that wouldn't know what is going on would not be technical. In addition, those with technical competency would also be able to read the non-technical version and still be able to go a bit deeper if they wanted to. Non-technical people could only ever respond to non-technical information.
Arguments for v2/against v1:I vote #2 because I feel it will better reach a wider audience than just alt coin followers. Remember what that Wired article did for the price? We need that kind of exposure.
I'll vote for #2 but I like the 1 one to but if u don't know the history it's harder to get it I think that's why I take 2:)
Agreed. I vote #2. There is severe institutional myopia with #1. I dragged my non-crypto savvy co-worker in the cube next to me to read both versions, and he was completely baffled by #1 and understood #2 much better. Masternodes are a concept that should not be talked about in an introduction. That's for further reading. A Bitcoin introduction is warranted so we can reach a wider audience.
I vote for #2
#1 feels like first few paragraphs are missing
r-ando I agree with you but...
There are many readers who are NOT techy at all.
We need to keep it simple as possible. #1 is more advanced would say.
We look for new adopters so let the newbies come imtoo the darkcoin with simplicity.
