I vote #2 because I feel it will better reach a wider audience than just alt coin followers. Remember what that Wired article did for the price? We need that kind of exposure.
Agreed. I vote #2. There is severe institutional myopia with #1. I dragged my non-crypto savvy co-worker in the cube next to me to read both versions, and he was completely baffled by #1 and understood #2 much better. Masternodes are a concept that should not be talked about in an introduction. That's for further reading. A Bitcoin introduction is warranted so we can reach a wider audience.

major rewrite

This is planned to go live fairly soon so we don't plan on doing any major rewrites at this stage.

Its not a major rewrite actually I only made it flow more easily…. imo, compare them?

Anyway, exciting day, I'm sure the price of DRK will promptly go down - it always does on good news, LOL.  (sorry, I don't want it to, but it just seems to do it!)  I hope we have an exception today though.

Thank you all, with all your energy and work promoting DRK!

And thanks to Evan and the team for making all this happen!

I'm off for the day, hope I can peek in at some point?  But I fear I'll miss most of today's fun  Tongue

See ya later!

Version 1 .

Also is everyone agreeing to the term Instant Transaction instead of Instant Transaction Validation? People might get confused because all transactions are instant, but it's the validation that's sped up.

[Edit: rigors -> rigours]
to meet the rigors of mainstream use
rigor: a sudden feeling of cold with shivering accompanied by a rise in temperature, often with copious sweating, especially at the onset or height of a fever.

rigour: the quality of being extremely thorough and careful.

Sorry, I was following spellcheck's suggestion, ROFL.  I also screwed up the big edit, hope you see I fixed it and it just needed had turned to have.  They have opened up the code.... vs  they had opened up the code.   The last is ... oh shit, my grammer is sucky...

Please double check me on it, but I am quite sure have is the correct word to use  Cheesy Tongue

And on the second one, accounts might be better than wallets but something needed to go there IMO, and accounts was used already...so...  I dunno.

not bad but I think it needs revision: how is this?

Darkcoin Solves Bitcoin Privacy Challenges; Releases Open Source Code

Darkcoin is designed to ensure financial privacy by protecting the privacy of a transaction source. This is accomplished using technology called Darksend, which works by mixing up the digital fingerprints of the user's coins. Darksend’s technology is based on Darkcoin's decentralised Masternode Network, currently comprised of over 900 Servers spread around the world.

First developed as a closed-source technology and following last Monday's release of the newest version of Darkcoin, the developers of Darkcoin are confident that their software is ready for mainstream use and have open-sourced the Darksend code. Darkcoin is now the first transparent open-source cryptocurrency with financial privacy built directly into the software.

Open-sourcing of a financial product such as Darkcoin is essential. It allows confidence in financial privacy and ensures trust in the quality and performance of the software. This also ensures that the community can review and update the software code if needed, a need that has been demonstrated over the years with Bitcoin.

Core developer of Darkcoin, Evan Duffield has also announced that Darkcoin has moved out of the beta stages of development and is now ready for mainstream, real-world use.
Future updates to Darkcoin are expected every few months, and will include such things as an Instant Transaction system, described here: [https://darkco.in/instatn-tx], which will allow Darkcoin to provide a superior and more secure alternative to credit cards, both in terms of security and transaction speed. The release of Instant Transaction technology will also make Darkcoin the fastest-confirming cryptocurrency in the world.

The Darkcoin client and more information can be obtained at our website:

I like the look of version 2, but the content needs to be tweaked, IMHO.
