Now that darksend's pre-mixing uses 3 inputs, I have a question...

Is it 3 and always 3? Could there be an "execution" delay that allows more than 3 to jump in, and proceeds with the 3 if no one else shows up by X time? Would porobably rarely happen at current volume, but would become more common as adoption increases. Would make it even better, and the time delay wouldn't really matter since it's pre-mixing... Could be only a few seconds, or a minute... Just an idea... Maybe that's how it already works... Don't know.

Probably need to re-figure/update those odds tables... You know the derps in trollmedia will intentionally cite old/bad info if they can... They'll just plain make shit up...

Damn, I have a decent amount of btc & drk on mintpal. Should of put it in my own wallet.  *Idiot.

It's kind of funny that out of all the cryptocurrencies we are the only one listed on Bitfinex. Ashame that it isn't utilized more.

I'm from the UK. What's the deal with using them? Any restrictions on overseas users? If not, I'll send a few grand over there.

Do I need to give them ID to transfer DRK or BTC <> $ or, is that only required when DRK > $ > bank account?

Should I take off my pants, or is it not that kind of surprise?

Evan is extremely level-headed and honest.
If anyone could make the guy come unglued, it'd be me. He's untouchable, and that's why I trust him.
LOL - He was so pissed at you (maybe pissed is to strong) because you "failed" to try somethings he suggested to you, to resolve your issues in the past. I think it was RC4.
It's not that I didn't try, it's that my system was screwing with me so bad I couldn't even tell if I had done it or not... apt-get told me all of the library versions were installed at once, then when I tried to remove them, it told me none were there, can't remove what doesn't exist... Made me fell like I was back using Gentoo again...

The package you need is blocking itself. Sure, all you wanted to do was upgrade to the newer version of the same package, but we're going to dick with you for no reason. You could try uninstalling it, but then your system will become completely non-functional and you'll have to start over with a Stage3 even though this package has nothing to do with anything at all that could cause that... And it'll take 12 hours just to find out that it doesn't work anyway...

You need to have X, Y, and Z installed before you can install X, Y, and Z...

As you can see, we are still missing some elements in Darkcoin so that this can be practical and used on a daily basis by people around the world. I am eventually going to launch a company like this in my region, it would be cool if we could do a global company and the share holders can push in their own markets. Why wait for someone else to do it?

Ah, we seem to be on a similar wavelength.

On your particular approach, I would add this:

Franchise.

The post count analysis done recent showed that there were around 30,000 posts by the top 50 posters. If you take into account the minutes to write a post and read it, double it for those on darkcointalk, then times that by 20 to take into account the work done by miners, setting up master nodes, etc. you get something like 600,000 man hours spent by the community on DRK.

You can do the math any way you want, you still get over 400k hrs. Probably closer to 750k hours. At $5/hr, that's between $2m to $4m opportunity cost invested in DRK.

Why not focus this tremendous amount of effort onto one DRK project, get it right, then franchise it around the world? Then, do it again for another project. Then another, then another.

Many hands make DRK work  Wink

Franchising sounds great it would make the corporate structure part easier.  Lets talk more about this later, I have to go out now, first thing would be to identify interested parties that can contribute and are serious about building a business.

I have been studying crypto related companies, and how to close the circle so I can get businesses in my city to accept Darkcoin and people to use it.  I have many ideas like private parking in some crowded areas of the city that would only take Darkcoin or grocery stores that could take coin, atms, etc. It became clear that we are still missing a few elements, and we are going to need distributors/companies that push the solutions in each market with a traditional sales approach.

We need:

1. Easy access to the coins through atms or agreements with local banks so you could get coins through online banking in the same way you get mobile phone credit. It must be easy and fast.
2. Point of sale equipment that looks similar to credit card payment terminals and a crypto debit card you could carry in your wallet similar to what coinkite has, but this would still need local distribution and support.
3. An online wallet, that folks that are not going to keep their own wallet in their computers can use just like online banking.
4. Android and iPhone wallets
5. Pushing adoption and giving support to local businesses that accept crypto.

DASH is the future of crypto payments!
One thing to bear in mind though is that lots of media attention is about to be pointed at DRK, so possibly Evan is just holding off for a few days to avoid stories about crying orphans muddying the water when people are writing their articles.
I think this is the point....

can we switch the enforcement on?

Technically we can & still be within what Evan said, as there have been ten successive blocks where 9/10 of those blocks was fully compliant. (He didn't say how long it had to be at 90% for!)

That might be considered taking the piss by some, but the only reason it isn't consistently at 90% is that x11ltcbtccom are taking the complete and utter piss, so their opinion and interests can and should be discounted.

I'm afraid my brain is going start dumping random ideas [edit] to help define how we could build underlying need - before those random thoughts start to be snipped and shaped. Apologies in advance.

Don't worry about it! The only way today's price affects you is if you were going to SELL today...if not, don't worry about the day-to-day price fluctuations and be secure in the knowledge that this coin has something to offer long term. That's where the focus should be. Stop driving yourself crazy! Just my 2 Duffs.

Plus one  Grin

The price situation is very tricky, yesterday I bought a thousand DRK in one go up to .00735 on Mintpal to see what would happen, and then right after I did that someone quickly sold a few DRK to the highest offer which was .0070 and the candle still closed in red.  I am very happy with my DRK, but the charts are definitely tricky and with low volumes they can indicate anything.

Like coins101 said, we must position DRK in industries where we add value, it is all about adoption and getting people to hold their coins.

Demand.

The announcement by PayPal to enable Bitcoin was big news. It did nothing for the price of Bitcoin.

Businesses using Coinbase enables them to attract Bitcoin customers, but they dump Bitcoin for fiat. It does nothing for the price of Bitcoin.

Demand and limited supply is what impacts the price.

For DRK to have demand it needs to have utility, and underlying need. The utility is cash over the internet. What is the need?

This is also true of fiat.  You go to work in order to get fiat, because you have a need: to pay for food, rent, travel, entertainment, etc. This forms one of the fundamental reasons for currency dealing.

The intro video should explain advantage of DRK compared to BTC (stop comparing against $ - our target market knows BTC)
BUMP Agree, there are many FIAT not only $, what we want is to attrack BTC people to use DRK

I disagree. If you have a rifle, you hunt big game, not cockroaches.
hmmmmm
that is the BIG view!!!!!

[serious] if you want the price to go up - then convince the miners to hold DRK, and not dump for btc

i hold every bit i get, wish i paid more attention when i had 80 khash to throw at it Wink
