Here's an attempt by me, inspired by Mangled Blue's Masternode logo. I'm sure it's possible to find a more harmonious combination of colours and layering but I'm off to bed. I'm happy to share the SVG file if anyone wants to keep going with it.

I feel it would be a good idea to crowdfund a professional design team that could help us with a Masternode symbol, a Darksend symbol and whatever else we need. Or, I could hire the tattoo guy down the street, he's pretty artistic..... Grin

I was more thinking of something like

or possiblly

or

And then we would also need atleast a similar symbol for a peer/node/wallet...
that maybe looks like a monitor, as depicted here...

or

There are many free icons available in the net, I'll do some search.
I found some here: http://www.iconattitude.com/icons/ico/8091/preferences-system-network.html

Is there an official symbol for a masternode?

I saw some attempts, but nothing was official. Are you up to the task?

I still like my attempt

I'm at work so I can't re-post right now

I believe it was this one. I really like the concept but I think it needs some refining

Let me refine it

That's probably one of the most entertaining threads I've read in a long time.

Is there a Darksend symbol? I suggested a Darksend tab in Jira; that would be a good opportunity to put it on a tab header!

Thanks! The new wallet synced right up and now my old one is synced too. I sent only a few coins to make sure that they get into the new wallet. How long do I need to leave the old wallet open for the transaction to go through?

You don't need to.

Uh oh. I forgot to change the name of the old wallet.dat back to .old and I opened the new wallet. Now whichever wallet.dat I open in the new client it shows the address of the old wallet  Embarrassed

Ok, close the client. Rename the wallet.dat to wallet.dat.old and rename wallet.dat.new to wallet.dat

Easy.

I opened the old wallet in the old client and sent a couple coins to a new wallet I created, it has been a few minutes and they still haven't shown up in the new one :/

Also, when I search either of the new addresses I created neither of them show up in the block explorer. AND it's saying my old wallet still has the original amount I started with before I sent coins but the old wallet shows I sent them. Is it just a syncing lag or something?

Edit: Managed to sort it out, the transactions were just taking a while.

Hey guys I'm trying to update my wallet to the latest version, I haven't opened my wallet in 11 weeks so my client is way out of date. I've opened my old wallet to let it sync but it's sitting at 95656 of 644289 blocks. It says I have 3 active connections to the network, it was sitting at 1 for a few minutes, but the blocks still aren't going up. What should I do to make sure I don't lose my coins when upgrading to the new wallet? I asked this about a week ago but I didn't get around to actually doing it. Here's a response I got around a week ago but it requires my old wallet to sync. I was told I have to do these steps if I want to be able to use darksend. In the about darkcoin tab it says I have version 0.10.4-unk-beta.

Code:
Go into %appdata% and change the name of your old wallet.dat file to something like OLDwallet.dat

Delete peers and darkcoin.conf

Open new Wallet and allow it to create new wallet.dat file.
Allow it to sync
Create a new RECEIVE ADDY and right click copy the addy

Close the wallet
back into %appdata% and rename the wallet.dat file to NEWwallet.dat
rename OLDwallet.dat back to wallet.dat

Open the old wallet client and send all your coins to the newly created addy from above.
Once you send all coins close the wallet out.

back into %appdata% rename wallet.dat to OLDwaallet.dat
rename NEWwallet.dat to wallet.dat

open new version of darkcoin - you should be good at this point...

What should I do? Thanks for any help!

Edit: Now 4 connections to the network but still no change in blocks.

Download the latest Darkcoin client. Either 9 version or 10.

Go into the darkcoin directory. Rename your wallet.dat file to wallet.dat.old

Start the new client. It is going to create a new wallet. After it finishes syncing, copy the first address and close the client.

Now go back into the darkcoin directory and you'll see a new wallet.dat. Rename it to wallet.dat.new

Launch the old client with the old wallet renamed from wallet.dat.lold to wallet.dat

Send your full balance to the new wallets address that you copied down previously.

Close the old client and once again rename wallet.dat to wallet.dat.old

Rename wallet.dat.new to wallet.dat

Launch the new client. You should see an incoming transaction of your entire wallets previous balance in the first address.

Thanks! The new wallet synced right up and now my old one is synced too. I sent only a few coins to make sure that they get into the new wallet. How long do I need to leave the old wallet open for the transaction to go through?

Interesting, question though. Your name is cloud hosting - yet what you described is shared hosting, not cloud at all. If you accept darkcoin I would be very interested in moving at least a couple of my servers to you - so could you provide a little bit more detail on what you offer? Is it shared hosting or do you plan on offering VPSs as well?

Down the line we will be offering VPSs but we are currently rebuilding this side of the business (hiring staff, redesigning our server rooms, creating new partnerships). For now we are offering website hosting via a cloud control panel interface on shared hosting.
What does "cloud control panel" mean? In hosting cloud hosting is a very specific term - for example AWS is a cloud host.

Is there a fully managed option? Root access, blah blah?

Shared hosting would imply yes to the first (managed) and no to the second (root).

I am reading it since 2 hours should do a lot other things but it's really glueing.
